The couple didn't go deep into credit card debt or invite bad money habits into their lives after getting out of debt. Some people get out of debt and then go right back into debt. Building financial discipline and recognizing the effort it takes to become debt-free can ensure that you don't end up falling into debt again.

They have modest cars. One of them is a 2018 model, and the other car is a 2021 model. Both were used cars that the couple paid for with cash. Getting the latest car, taking out a lease, or buying luxury cars will add more expenses to your budget and limit your ability to grow wealth.
The couple also lives in a 1,800 square foot home that they say is one of the smallest homes on their street. They could afford a larger home, but opting for a smaller property reduces the monthly mortgage payments and other housing costs.&nbsp;

What Happened: The Pentagon Pizza Report, a social media account that keeps tabs on&nbsp;real-time foot traffic at pizza&nbsp;shops in the vicinity of the Pentagon, suggested that officials were working late hours at the government building, potentially hinting at an impending conflict. 
The account reported increased activity at four local pizza outlets hours before Israel launched Operation Rising Lion.
The report states that the strikes occurred late Thursday evening. The account kept posting updates about the nearest and second-nearest Domino&#8217;s to the Pentagon before and after the airstrikes.&nbsp;

Not just Domino&#8217;s, the account also monitored activity at&nbsp;Freddie&#8217;s Beach Bar and District&nbsp;Pizza Palace in the area.&nbsp;It reported&nbsp;&#8220;high levels of traffic&#8221; compared&nbsp;to a typical Thursday.&nbsp;The Pentagon Pizza Report has&nbsp;a following of over 50,000 and its posts garner nearly millions of views.

As gold teases all-time highs, peaking at <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/guidance/25/06/45928561/gold-biggest-boom-in-decades-and-investors-are-still-missing-out">$3,446 an ounce on Friday</a> and logging its best half-year rise in more than 40 year, investors are scrambling into ETFs to join the party. Yet as several gold ETFs have tracked the metal&#8217;s rocket-like run, a more fundamental question is rising to the surface: Are these ETFs designed for the type of crisis driving gold&#8217;s rise?
That is, can your gold ETF really save you when it counts?
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">When Safe-Haven Investing Gets Technical</h2>
Gold&#8217;s rally this year has been fueled by a powerful combination of Middle East tensions, U.S. fiscal instability, and weakening dollar. But in the midst of all the macro upheaval, investors in ETFs might be overlooking an important nuance: the structural strength of their gold holdings.
On the surface, highly traded ETFs such as the SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GLD#NYSE">GLD</a>), iShares Gold Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IAU#NYSE">IAU</a>), abrdn Physical Gold Shares ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SGOL#NYSE">SGOL</a>), and SPDR Gold MiniShares Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GLDM#NYSE">GLDM</a>) appear to be identical. They all aim to track the price of gold, have low expense ratios, and are traded with lots of liquidity. However, beneath the surface, the distinctions might prove fatal in an actual crisis situation.
Consider storage, for instance. GLD holds much of its gold in the <a href="https://www.spdrgoldshares.com/media/GLD/file/GLD-8K-Nov30-2022.pdf?">vaults </a>of HSBC in London, subject to UK law. SGOL <a href="https://www.onegold.com/etfs/sgol?">holds </a>its bullion in Zurich and London, and IAU has <a href="https://www.ishares.com/us/literature/prospectus/p-ishares-gold-trust-prospectus-12-31.pdf?">vaults </a>in New York, Toronto, and London. During times of peace, this is a small asterisk. During wartime, or during sanctions, sovereign freezes, or bank disruptions, geography of the vault can be the weak spot or secret advantage of an ETF.
Also, not all ETFs have the same redemption rights. GLD permits large institutions to trade shares for real bullion, but individual investors can&#8217;t. SGOL has more transparency in auditing and bar listings, and while GLDM is less expensive, it&#8217;s less accommodating in redemption and verification.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Liquidity Vs. Ownership</h2>
And then there&#8217;s the derivative problem. Certain &#8220;gold&#8221; ETFs don&#8217;t own any physical gold at all, opting for futures or swap contracts instead, subjecting investors to counterparty risk, particularly in times of market stress. Invesco DB Precious Metals Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DBP#NYSE">DBP</a>) and ProShares Ultra Gold (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UGL#NYSE">UGL</a>) are examples of such speculative funds, constructed more for short-term tactical use than long-term crisis protection.
To investors leveraging gold as a hedge against monetary breakdown, this makes all the difference. A futures-backed gold ETF can track price beautifully, until liquidity evaporates or the roll cost is unsustainable.
Global central banks are voting with their vaults. They've bought over 1,000 tonnes of gold in the last year, according to the World Gold Council, cited in a Bloomberg <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-06-03/gold-market-s-record-breaking-rally-powered-by-central-bank-buying?sref=TBDibEcD">report</a>, and now hold bullion equivalent to 18% of outstanding U.S. public debt—up from 13% a decade ago.
That&#8217;s had a long shadow over Treasuries and the dollar, and might drive more institutional money into physical gold exposure. If it does, ETFs that stockpile actual bullion, not promises to deliver bullion, might be the next best thing.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Know Your Gold</h2>
As gold charges toward $3,500, and possibly even $4,000 by mid-2026, according to Goldman <a href="https://www.cnbctv18.com/market/commodities/gold-prices-today-down-two-factors-may-hold-it-up-19605598.htm">projections</a>, ETF investors need to peer past the shiny charts.
Price is only part of the equation. In a time of geopolitical uncertainty, structural transparency, redemption rights, and vault geography may be what distinguishes gold ETFs that glitter from those that merely shine.

In a move that has sparked bipartisan criticism, President Donald Trump has proposed a 51% reduction in the budget of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The proposal, staunchly defended by HUD Secretary Scott Turner, is being scrutinized for its potential implications for millions of Americans.
What Happened: According to a report, Turner justified the proposed $45 billion cut to HUD&#8217;s funding before the House subcommittee on Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development this week. The budget cut forms a part of Trump&#8217;s strategy to eliminate $163 billion in federal spending.

Sanchez recommends that people buy small businesses instead to boost their ROI with the same capital. She mentions that it's possible to earn $4,800 per month with a $400,000 investment once you set up the business and capitalize on growth opportunities.

It's a key distinction between real estate and stocks since there is no way to apply sweat equity to a publicly traded corporation that you don't work for.
However, Sanchez explained that the sweat equity for private equity is much higher than real estate. While sweat equity in real estate can boost your returns by 10% to 20%, Sanchez asserts that some small business owners can double, triple, or even quintuple their returns if they apply sweat equity.&nbsp;

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Real Estate Investing Has Been Normalized</h2>
Investors can accumulate a wide range of assets, but most of the focus revolves around stocks and real estate. Buying publicly traded corporations is easy, and you'll see real estate in any neighborhood. One asset is easily accessible, while you can see clear reminders of the other asset's value everywhere you go.
There are also a lot more financial experts who talk about stock and real estate investing than there are people like Sanchez who discuss buying small businesses. Part of the reason may be that buying a small business is more difficult in the beginning. You have to know how to grow and manage a business before you can get the type of ROI Sanchez mentions in her presentation.
However, the relative lack of awareness around buying small businesses creates an opportunity for investors in the industry. Fewer investors help people buy small businesses for lower prices. There isn't as much demand that can push prices higher, such as multiple bidders targeting the same company.&nbsp;
Although stocks and real estate remain the most popular assets, venturing outside of these popular routes can lead to much higher returns.

For instance, many people claim that money is the root of all evil. This message comes from the Bible, but it's been misinterpreted by the people who pedal it. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) said Saturday morning that a Democratic state legislator and her husband were killed, and another lawmaker and his wife injured, in separate &#8220;targeted shootings&#8221; at their homes.
What Happened: According to a <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/targeted-shootings-minnesota-rcna212831">report</a> by NBC News, state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were shot and killed and state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were shot and wounded. The suspect involved in the shootings is still at large. Both lawmakers were members of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party.
Authorities have suggested that the shooter may have been impersonating law enforcement and visited the lawmakers&#8217; homes, which are approximately eight miles apart in suburbs north of Minneapolis.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) referred to the shootings as "a stunning act of violence" in a social media post. She expressed gratitude for the law enforcement&#8217;s real-time response and offered prayers for the Hortman and Hoffman families.
Earlier on Saturday, Walz stated that he had been&nbsp;briefed about the "targeted shootings,"&nbsp;and that&nbsp;the Minnesota Department of Public&nbsp;Safety and local law enforcement&nbsp;were on the scene. The&nbsp;Brooklyn Park Police Department issued&nbsp;a shelter-in-place alert for an&nbsp;area surrounding the Edinburgh Golf&nbsp;Course Saturday morning in its&nbsp;search for the suspect.

Stephens will host foundation-related events and plans to sell her own beauty care line through Ballers, and Garnett will lead clinics at various future club locations, according to Forbes. You can set a hard line and not lend a dollar to anyone. However, if you still want to give some money, you can give a much smaller amount as a gift. For instance, if a friend or family member asks for $10,000, you can give them $100 on the condition that they never ask you for money again. It may be better to set a hard stance and not give anyone any money right from the start, but each person is different.

He wraps up by encouraging people to avoid making purchases just for the sake of showing off. Designer bags fit this category, and while the bag may look nice, you can get a similar bag for a much lower price. Then, you can put the money you saved into the stock market and embark on the path toward long-term wealth.

You don't have to make aggressive investments with the fortune to make enough cash. One Redditor suggested a high-yield savings account. It's possible to find accounts that offer 4% APY, and that translates into $52,000 per year.&nbsp;
It's good supplemental income that may be enough to cover most of the Redditor's expenses. He was a firefighter before the accident and earned $80,000 to $85,000 per year. He has been receiving disability pay that equals 80% of his salary, and he's set to work again by the end of the summer.

One commenter told the 29-year-old to make any dramatic changes to his lifestyle, and there are a few reasons why this is great advice. While $1.3 million is a great starting point, it's not enough to quit your job and retire.&nbsp;
Furthermore, making significant changes to your lifestyle and letting people know about your wealth can attract the wrong type of attention. You might attract ‘friends' who want you to spend money on them and then disappear the moment your funds run dry.&nbsp;
Life can be easier if the firefighter maintains his lifestyle and continues to work every day. The commenter suggested the 29-year-old can be in a mode that's between easy and standard difficulty instead of "constantly grinding just to pay the rent."

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Put Money In A Brokerage Account After Establishing An Emergency Fund</h2>
One commenter suggested establishing an emergency fund that can cover six to 12 months of living expenses and putting the rest into a brokerage account. The firefighter doesn't have to get fancy with his investments. Some low-cost ETFs that mirror key benchmarks like the S&amp;P 500 or Nasdaq Composite should be sufficient.
The commenter then said that the 29-year-old should forget that the account exists and let it grow undisturbed. Regarding the emergency fund, the commenter suggested looking for a high-yield savings account, just like an earlier commenter.&nbsp;
This approach gives the 29-year-old enough money to cover emergency expenses while knowing that most of the $1.3 million is growing over time.

A 29-Year-Old Suddenly Became A Millionaire And Turned To The Dave Ramsey Subreddit For Advice: 'What Am I Supposed To Do With This Money'

Dundee Precious Metals (OTCPK: DPMLF) has signed a deal to acquire UK-based Adriatic Metals (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ADMLF#OTC">ADMLF</a>) for $1.25 billion. The agreement will give Canadian miner control of Adriatic's flagship Vareš <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/silver">silver-zinc operation</a> in Bosnia, expanding its strategic footprint in southeastern Europe. It is Dundee's most significant move yet to boost production growth and diversify cash flow.
"Vareš is a logical fit with our portfolio, as it significantly increases DPM's mine life while adding near-term production growth, a highly prospective land package, and cash flow diversification," Dundee CEO David Rae <a href="https://dundeeprecious.com/news-media/news-releases/dundee-precious-metals-announces-proposed-acquisit-10180/">said</a> in a statement. "We are well-positioned to leverage our expertise in underground mining, our regional presence, and our financial strength to optimize the operation and unlock its full value potential."
Under the mixed cash and stock terms of agreement, Adriatic shareholders will receive 268 British pence per share, comprising 93 pence in cash and 0.1590 of a Dundee share, representing a 50.5% premium to Adriatic's closing price of 177.8 pence on May 19. The acquisition will be implemented through a court-sanctioned scheme of arrangement under UK law.
Upon completion, Dundee shareholders will hold approximately 75.3% of the enlarged entity, while Adriatic shareholders will own the remaining 24.7%. Dundee has already secured support for the deal from Adriatic's board and major shareholders representing 37.2% of the UK firm's share capital.
The key asset in the acquisition is located about 50 kilometers north of Sarajevo. It is a high-grade underground mine producing silver-zinc and lead-silver-gold concentrates. It has a 15-year mine life based on current reserves and is expected to produce approximately 168,000 ounces of gold equivalent annually, with a life-of-mine all-in sustaining cost of $893 per ounce.
Dundee forecasts the project will generate $2.1 billion in post-tax cash flow over its life, with a post-tax net present value of $1.6 billion at a 5% discount rate, based on long-term metal prices.
"Vareš remains firmly on track to become a low-cost precious metals producer, underpinned by a high-grade deposit and strong exploration upside," Adriatic CEO Laura Tyler said. "This transaction brings together complementary strengths to create a diversified mining company with meaningful scale."
Adriatic's portfolio also includes the Raška zinc-silver project in Serbia, providing Dundee with exploration and development potential in the region. The merged company will be headquartered in Toronto, and Adriatic's UK office will close. Tyler and CFO Michael Horner will exit following the transaction, and Adriatic's board will step down.
BMO Capital Markets advised Dundee, while RBC Capital Markets and Macquarie Capital advised Adriatic. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2025, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals, including from the Bosnian Competition Council.

Culper said Applovin CEO Adam Foroughi has denied the company has Chinese ownership or operational ties to China, but the short seller is skeptical and said Chinese national Hao Tang has backed the company since at least 2017. Culper put out a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/movers/25/02/43981217/applovin-stock-drops-on-multiple-short-reports-allegations-of-copying-meta-creating-smoke-an" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">short report</a> on AppLovin in February previously Muddy Waters and Fuzzy Panda Research are other companies with short reports on the company. The company recently <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/05/45269045/applovin-stock-shakes-off-short-seller-report-shares-surge-on-q1-earnings-beat" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">beat analyst estimates</a> for revenue and earnings per share in the first quarter. Despite the short reports, analysts have remained mostly in support of the company. JPMorgan recently maintained a Neutral rating on the stock, but raised the price target from $355 to $400. Morgan Stanley maintained an Overweight rating on the stock and raised the price target from $420 to $460. Applovin shares were down 9% during the week, but the stock remains up over 12% year-to-date and up over 300% in the last year.

Arc Coast features a high-voltage 226 kWh battery, the same system used in the Arc Sport, which, according to Electrek, gives the boat a top speed of 50 miles per hour and a cruising time of four to five hours on a single charge. Instead of the large outboard engines common in traditional boats, Arc says it uses a compact sterndrive system.
The open deck accommodates up to 10 passengers, creating more room for fishing, relaxing, or swimming without the bulk and noise associated with combustion engines, Electrek reports.
Arc said in a<a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/arc-unveils-the-arc-coast-an-all-electric-evolution-of-the-center-console-302455358.html"> statement</a> that the center console format has long been used for fishing and sandbar outings, offering flexible movement and social space. The Arc Coast was designed from scratch to deliver quiet electric performance, streamlined software, and a simplified ownership experience compared to traditional gas-powered boats. The design also enables Arc to simplify the layout and reduce material costs.

According to the<a href="https://www.epa.gov/dera/learn-about-impacts-diesel-exhaust-and-diesel-emissions-reduction-act-dera"> Environmental Protection Agency</a>, diesel-powered boats contribute significantly to marine pollution through oil leaks, ground-level ozone, and toxic emissions that impact coastal ecosystems. Electric boats offer a cleaner alternative because they are quieter, require less maintenance, and can be charged with energy from renewable sources, Arc says.
Even when factoring in the environmental cost of lithium-ion battery production, a 2016<a href="https://strathprints.strath.ac.uk/79097/1/Park_etal_AE_2022_Live_life_cycle_assessment_of_the_electric.pdf"> report</a> suggests that electric marine transport remains more sustainable than extracting and burning billions of tons of fossil fuels each year.
Arc says it reused its existing battery system to reduce development time and expects to bring the Arc Coast to market in less than one year from prototype to production.
