Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) missed quarterly earnings expectations on its cloud business, triggering a 7% drop, its worst single-day decline in a year. On the upside, Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AVGO#NASDAQ">AVGO</a>) surged 6% after beating estimates, fueling a rally in chip stocks. Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) also gained 3.4%.
The Russell 2000 outperformed with a 0.9% gain, reflecting strength in smaller-cap stocks.
Fresh labor market data signaled resilience. Private sector employment rose by 183,000 in January according to the ADP report, surpassing expectations of 150,000. The services sector continued expanding,<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/economics/macro-economic-events/25/02/43499292/us-services-growth-slows-in-january-as-tariff-concerns-mount"> as per ISM survey</a>, though at a slightly slower-than-anticipated pace.
Investors piled into Treasuries, sending yields tumbling across the curve. The 30-year yield fell to its lowest level since Dec. 18, 2024, while the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TLT#NASDAQ">TLT</a>) rallied 1.9%.
Gold extended its bull run, surging over 1% to a record $2,870 per ounce, driven by continued central bank buying. Copper jumped 2%. 
In crypto markets, Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) edged down 1.2% to $97,000.

Here&#8217;s a breakdown of what the company reported:

<li>Revenue declined 7.3% year-over-year (Y/Y) to $1.386 billion, beating the consensus of $1.379 billion.</li>
<li>There was an 8.2% decrease in LTL tons per day, a 7.6% drop in LTL shipments per day and a 0.7% reduction in LTL weight per shipment.</li>
<li>LTL revenue per hundredweight, excluding fuel surcharges, rose&nbsp;3.8%&nbsp;in the quarter.</li>
<li>EPS was&nbsp;$1.23,<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">&nbsp;beating the consensus of&nbsp;$1.18.</a></li>
<li>Operating income fell 20.7% to $334 million, with an operating ratio of 75.9%, compared to 71.8% a year ago.</li>
<li>Old Dominion's operating cash flow was&nbsp;$401.1&nbsp;million for the&nbsp;fourth quarter and&nbsp;$1.7&nbsp;billion for the year.</li>
<li>As of Dec. 31, the company had $108.7 million in cash and equivalents. </li>
<li>Capital expenditures stood at $170.9 million in the quarter.</li>
<li>Roughly $967.3 million was spent on share repurchases, including a $200 million accelerated program, and $223.6 million in dividends.</li>
</ul>
Dividend Raise: The Old Dominion board declared a first-quarter dividend of $0.28 per share, payable on March 19, 2025, to shareholders on record as of March 5.
Adjusted for the March 2024 stock split, this marks a 7.7% increase from the first quarter of 2024.

Here's a look at the sectors and stocks that could be hurt the most by Trump's tariffs and retaliatory efforts by the three countries back on the U.S.
What Happened: Trump <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/02/43427091/as-trump-imposes-tariffs-on-americas-3-largest-trading-partners-this-macro-strategist-call">announced 25% tariffs </a>on imports from Canada and Mexico along with a 10% tariffs on items imported from China. Trump and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced Monday the U.S. tariffs on Mexico have been paused for one month. 
Canada fought back with retaliatory measures on U.S. imports.
Trump said he spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and plans to speak to the leader again at 3 p.m. ET Monday.
The tariffs were met with anger in Canada where sports fans booed the playing of &#8220;The Star-Spangled Banner,&#8221; the U.S. national anthem, at NBA and NHL sporting events over the weekend, as reported by <a href="https://deadline.com/2025/02/u-s-national-anthem-booed-nhl-nba-games-canada-tariffs-1236276207/">Deadline</a>.

Goods and Sectors Impacted: Here's a look at the top imports from Canada, Mexico and China that will be impacted if the tariffs stick.
Beer and Spirits: One of the companies that <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/24/11/42220682/trump-tariffs-on-mexico-could-affect-beer-why-your-modelo-corona-could-cost-more-next-year">could be hit hardest</a> by the tariff news is Constellation Brands Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/STZ#NYSE">STZ</a>), an alcohol company that holds the exclusive U.S. license for several of the top imported beer brands in America. Constellation imports brands like Modelo, Corona and Pacifico from Mexico, where they are brewed by Grupo Modelo, which is a unit of Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BUD#NYSE">BUD</a>).
Modelo is the top imported beer in the U.S., with Corona ranking second. Heineken and Dos Equis XX, which are imported by Heineken USA, a unit of Heineken NV (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HEINY#OTC">HEINY</a>), ranked third and fourth on the list of top imported beers. Dos Equis is manufactured in Mexico and imported to the U.S.
Constellation stock is down around 40% since it was flagged as a company to see pressure from tariffs back in November.
The U.S. is also a large importer of tequila, a sector that could be hit hard by tariffs on Mexico.
