Monster Beverage is a leader in the energy drink category within the nonalcoholic ready-to-drink beverage market, generating two thirds of revenue in the US and Canada. The well-known Monster trademark includes brands such as Monster Energy, Monster Ultra, Java Monster, and Juice Monster. The firm also owns other energy drink brands, such as Reign, NOS, Burn, Bang and Mother, and brews and distributes beers and flavored malt beverages following the acquisition of a craft brewer in 2022. Monster controls branding and innovation but outsources beverage manufacturing and packaging to copackers and finished goods distribution to bottlers in the global Coca-Cola system (pursuant to a 20-year agreement inked in 2015). Coke is the largest shareholder of Monster with a 19.5% stake.

On CNBC's &#8220;Mad Money Lightning Round,&#8221; Jim Cramer recommended buying Okta, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/OKTA#NASDAQ">OKTA</a>), saying he wants to own more Okta.
On the earnings front, Okta, on May 27, reported first-quarter revenue of $688 million, beating analyst estimates of $680.25 million. The company reported adjusted earnings of 86 cents per share, beating analyst estimates of 77 cents per share.
Cramer said he is not going to trust Nebius Group N.V. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NBIS#NASDAQ">NBIS</a>).
DA Davidson analyst Alex Platt, on June 16, maintained Nebius Group with a Buy rating and raised the price target from $50 to $55.
Sweetgreen, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SG#NYSE">SG</a>) is down 57%, and it is not making money, Cramer said.
Supporting his view, JP Morgan analyst Rahul Krotthapalli, on June 25, maintained Sweetgreen with a Neutral rating and lowered the price target from $20 to $16.
Cramer said Monster Beverage (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MNST#NASDAQ">MNST</a>) is &#8220;just one smoking hot stock.&#8221;
Lending support to his choice, Wells Fargo analyst Chris Carey, on June 13, maintained Monster Beverage with an Overweight rating and raised the price target from $67 to $70.
Cramer said it's the time to buy McDonald&#8217;s Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MCD#NYSE">MCD</a>). &#8220;I've been saying that you must own McDonald's here,&#8221; he added.
In an official announcement last Tuesday, McDonald's and Krispy Kreme Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DNUT#NASDAQ">DNUT</a>) have decided to part ways. Concerns about profitability led to the termination of this association. Their U.S. doughnut partnership is set to conclude on July 2, 2025.

Cramer Praises Monster Beverage As 'Smoking Hot,' Warns Investors About This AI Stock

Once a symbol of financial catastrophe, subprime consumers are now showing signs of resilience and spending power that defy economic uncertainties, according to Goldman Sachs, with the bank highlighting several investment opportunities tied to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color">the lower-income group. </a>
In a note issued Wednesday, Goldman Sachs analysts led by George K. Tong said U.S. subprime consumers—typically defined as individuals with credit scores below 660—are holding up better than expected despite economic headwinds such as tariffs, inflation and high interest rates.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">US Subprime Consumers Are Stronger Than You Think</h3>
"Our call is that subprime consumers are, and will remain, resilient, with positive spending growth and improving delinquency trends despite economic uncertainty," Tong said.
Consumer wealth in the bottom income quintile rose 7% year-over-year through May 2025. The labor market remains reasonably healthy, with unemployment at 4.2% in May, while debt service payments as a share of disposable income came in at 11.3%, below the 45-year average of 11.9%.
Household debt stood at 61% of nominal GDP in 2024, the lowest level since late 1999 and significantly under the 20-year average of 70%, suggesting consumers remain financially unburdened.
Goldman said subprime borrowers are actively adjusting their financial behavior by shifting away from discretionary and high-cost items, instead prioritizing essential purchases such as groceries, household goods and lower-cost alternatives. 
This disciplined approach to spending reflects a prudent response to economic uncertainty—not distress.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Subprime Credit Metrics Show Positive Signs</h3>
Recent data shows a broad improvement in credit health across cards, auto loans and personal loans, suggesting that subprime consumers are stabilizing their financial positions. 
Thirty-plus day card delinquencies among lower-income borrowers fell 0.23% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2025 to 4.5%, marking a key reversal after a prolonged period of rising late payments. 
Deep subprime 60-plus day card delinquencies declined to 25.46% in May 2025, down from 27.42% a year earlier, the first sustained drop since late 2022.
In the auto segment, 60-plus day delinquencies among deep subprime borrowers slipped to 7.75% in May, now falling below the five-year average of 7.80%. This marks a turning point after nearly two years of worsening trends. 
Similarly, deep subprime personal loan delinquencies fell from 15.27% to 14.25% in May, extending the string of year-over-year improvements that began in mid-2024. 
Mortgages remain the only category showing slight deterioration, with deep subprime 90-plus day delinquencies rising to 12.92% in May, up from 11.59% a year ago, slightly above the five-year average of 12.88%. 
Yet, the investment bank notes that overall mortgage delinquency remains exceptionally low at just 0.7% of outstanding balances, reflecting the relative health of the broader housing market.

Subprime Was A Trainwreck In 2008―Now It's A Sweet Spot, Says Goldman Sachs

J.P. Morgan analyst Andrea Teixeira highlighted a significant acceleration in U.S. energy drink sales, which jumped 18% in May from 14% in April, in a note on Wednesday. This marks the third consecutive month of improving 13-week rolling trends and the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings">strongest growth rate since November 2023</a>.
The acceleration stemmed from gains in both buy rate, which rose 88 basis points to 10% year-over-year, and household penetration, which climbed 113 basis points to 3.25% year-over-year.

Momentum remains strong for Alani Nu too, although growth across key performance indicators slowed slightly, with recent NielsenIQ data reinforcing signs of a positive inflection in brand Celsius.
The analyst reiterated an Overweight rating on Celsius Holdings.
Teixeira highlighted a slight uptick in household penetration for Celsius Holdings, rising 9 basis points to remain flat year-over-year, while Alani Nu held steady with a marginal 2-basis-point gain, maintaining a strong 391 bps increase versus last year.
Monster Beverage Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MNST#NASDAQ">MNST</a>): Teixeira noted that while the overall data remain solid for Monster Beverage, the outlook is more mixed as gains in household penetration are being partially offset by a slowdown in buy rate, reflecting reduced purchase frequency.
Teixeira noted that Monster Beverage saw a 168-basis-point slowdown in purchase frequency, bringing it to -1% year-over-year. The analyst maintains a Neutral rating on Monster Beverage.

The Aluminium Association of Canada (AAC) has condemned the U.S. government's move to impose a 50% tariff on Canadian <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/aluminum" rel="noreferrer noopener">aluminum</a>, calling it a protectionist misfire that risks destabilizing North America's integrated manufacturing base and driving higher inflation across key sectors.
"A 50% tariff on Canadian aluminum will suppress demand across the continent — whether the metal is produced in Canada or the U.S.," Jean Simard, AAC's president and CEO, <a target="_blank" href="https://aluminium.ca/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/AAC_PRESS-RELEASE_US-Tariffs_50_June-3-2025_FINAL.pdf" rel="noreferrer noopener">said</a> in a press release.
"It will impact workers on both sides of the border and disrupt key sectors including defense, construction, and automotive," he stated.
The tariff, enacted last Wednesday following an executive order from President Donald Trump, effectively prices Canadian exports out of the U.S. market at $1,349.50 per metric ton. Simard warned that the move may force Canadian producers to reorient trade toward the European Union and away from their most critical industrial partner.
Food packaging is among the industries most exposed to these tariffs, as large companies such as Campbell Soup (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CPB#NASDAQ">CPB</a>) and Coca-Cola (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KO#NYSE">KO</a>) heavily rely on aluminum for their products.
The domestic Can Manufacturers Institute (CMI) also responded to Trump's decision, pointing out how aluminum and tinplate steel tariffs would hurt American families.
"Doubling the steel tariff will further increase the cost of canned goods at the grocery store," CMI president Robert Budway <a target="_blank" href="https://www.cancentral.com/can-manufacturers-institute-opposes-president-trumps-doubling-of-steel-tariffs/" rel="noreferrer noopener">said</a> on May 30. "These metal tariffs put our nation's food security at risk."
Nine domestic mill production lines have closed since the original 2018 tariffs on tin mill steel, leaving only three operational facilities. Thus, the domestic industry relies on roughly 80% of tin mill steel imports and a significant portion of aluminum.
Canada annually ships 2.7 million metric tons of aluminum to the U.S., much of which is transformed into beverage cans, canned food containers, and consumer packaging.
That raw material supports over 700,000 American manufacturing jobs, while Canada's aluminum sector directly employs 9,500 workers. Combined, the binational aluminum value chain contributes more than $228 billion annually to the U.S. economy.
Thanks to its abundant hydropower, Canada produces low-carbon aluminum at a cost and emissions profile that is far below that of many of its global competitors. That energy benefit is enormous — equivalent to 40 million megawatt-hours per year, or the annual output of four Hoover Dams.
Simrad noted that the Canadian industry supports the U.S. goal of increasing domestic aluminum production capacity from 50% to 80% of national demand, but added that tariffs undermine the investment certainty needed to build that capacity.
"Even if U.S. output doubles, it will still be a net importer," he said.
Instead, the AAC and CMI urge the U.S. to target the real threat: subsidized overcapacity from China. Canada already leads the world in aluminum traceability and anti-dumping enforcement. "Canadian aluminum is not — and will not be — a backdoor for unfair trade," Simard stated. "Undermining a trusted partner only weakens the foundation we both stand on."

&#8220;To a limited degree, we are hedged with certain volumes in the Midwest premium,&#8221; Schlosberg said, while acknowledging, &#8220;we don't always win&#8221; with hedging. He added that the purpose of the company's hedging strategy is to manage risk and avoid leaving the business overly exposed to price volatility.
Looking ahead, Schlosberg warned that rising material costs, including the Midwest aluminum premium, are likely to pressure margins in the coming months. &#8220;I wouldn't expect that the second quarter margin will be as high as the first quarter margin,&#8221; he said.
