Data collected by Export Genius cited by the FT showed Mexican exports of Silverado components totaled nearly $30 billion last year, with braking systems alone accounting for $4.3 billion. 
GM has been preparing for potential tariffs since Trump&#8217;s election. The breach could have potentially exposed sensitive data, including personal details <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/23/11/35738108/unexpected-account-shutdowns-at-major-banks-lead-to-frustration-accusations-of-discrimination">and Social Security numbers</a>.
What Happened: The Bank of America has alerted a small group of its customers about a data breach that may have exposed confidential information. The breach, which took place on December 30, was a result of improper handling of confidential documents by a third-party document destruction service provider.
While the exact number of affected accounts has not been disclosed, the bank confirmed&nbsp;that at least two customers&nbsp;in Massachusetts have been impacted. 
The bank <a href="https://www.mass.gov/doc/2025-302-bank-of-america/download">said</a> in a statement, &#8220;A document destruction vendor did not secure bank-related materials appropriately in transport. Some documents were found outside of the secure containers on the exterior of the financial center.&#8221;
The information that could have been exposed includes&nbsp;names, financial account details, addresses,&nbsp;phone numbers, email addresses, gender,&nbsp;dates of birth, social security&nbsp;numbers,&nbsp;and other unique government ID&nbsp;data.

Why It Matters: This is not the first time Bank of America has faced a data breach issue. In January, a similar incident occurred, putting the data of hundreds of customers at risk. 
These recurring breaches highlight the vulnerabilities in the bank&#8217;s data security measures and the potential risks associated with third-party service providers. 
As a result, the bank is now offering identity-theft protection services to potentially affected customers, indicating its efforts to mitigate the impact of such breaches and restore customer trust.

Own the DOGE, the group behind the original Doge meme's intellectual property, has unveiled a new meme coin named Cocoro (COCORO), launched on Base, the Ethereum layer-2 network developed by Coinbase.
What Happened: The coin's debut coincided with a blog <a href="https://kabochan.blog.jp/archives/53553858.html">post </a>from Atsuko Sato, the owner of the late Kabosu—the Shiba Inu that inspired Dogecoin—introducing her newly adopted 10-year-old rescue dog, Cocoro. The IP around Cocoro is being officially managed by Own the Doge.
COCORO's market cap quickly surged past $80 million after its launch on Saturday, before dropping to around $46 million with a token price near $0.046. Tokenomics show 75% of the supply was locked into liquidity pools, 20% distributed via airdrops to DOG and NEIRO holders, and the remaining 5% allocated to a DAO reserve.

He added that DOG, their previous token, has over 1 million holders on Base.

New Meme Coin Cocoro Launched By Dogecoin's IP Rights Holder

The Trump Organization has launched a lawsuit against Capital One, alleging that the bank closed hundreds of President Donald Trump-linked accounts for politically motivated reasons.
What Happened: The Trump Organization claims that Capital One has closed numerous accounts related to the Trump family due to &#8220;woke&#8221; political motivations.
Eric Trump, the&nbsp;executive vice president of the&nbsp;Trump Organization, expressed his frustration over the situation, stating that transferring over 300 bank accounts was a challenging task. 
He clarified that these accounts were linked to various business ventures, including hotels, golf courses, residential&nbsp;and commercial buildings, retail outlets, skating rinks, and parking garages. He denied any political affiliation, emphasizing that the only common factor was the Trump name.
"I can't tell you how hard it is to change more than 300 bank accounts – and for no reason whatsoever. The lawsuit suggests that Capital One is&nbsp;part of a growing trend&nbsp;among major financial institutions to&nbsp;de-bank clients with conflicting political&nbsp;views. The Trump Organization is seeking to highlight this issue, which it deems to be of significant public interest and importance.
Insiders have hinted to Fox News that other banks, including Chase, Bank of America, and TD Bank, have also cut ties with Trump and may face similar lawsuits in the near future.

Vice President JD Vance recently found himself confronted by a group of pro-Ukraine protestors while out with his young daughter in Ohio.
What Happened: Vance came across a group of &#8220;Slava Ukraini&#8221; protestors near his residence in East Walnut Hills, Cincinnati. The group, consisting of around 30 to 40 individuals, prominently displayed signs expressing support for Ukraine. They allegedly followed Vance, shouting slogans that caused his three-year-old daughter to become visibly distressed.
In an attempt to distract the protestors from his child, Vance engaged in a dialogue with them. He characterized the exchange as &#8220;mostly respectful,&#8221; but voiced criticism against involving children in political demonstrations.
He wrote on X, "I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone. (Nearly all of them agreed)."
He added it was "mostly respectful conversation, but if you're chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you're a s— person."&nbsp;

While the specifics of the conversation were not disclosed by the Vice President, this occurrence follows a tense meeting last month between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in which Vance played a role.
The meeting took a sour turn when Zelensky voiced skepticism regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin&#8216;s commitment to a ceasefire agreement.
In the aftermath of the strained meeting, the U.S. suspended aid to Ukraine and halted intelligence sharing. Vance, who has been known to express doubts about aid to Ukraine, has previously encountered pro-Ukraine protests during a visit to Vermont.

Last fall, billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban publicly expressed his admiration for Elon Musk&#8216;s business acumen and risk-taking approach, despite their <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/25/02/43424157/mark-cuban-suggests-20-minute-daily-habit-to-destabilize-musk-zuckerberg-and-even-president-trump">ideological differences</a>.
What Happened: In an October 2024 interview, Cuban praised Musk&#8217;s propensity to heavily invest in his business ventures. &#8220;He goes all in,&#8221; Cuban said.
Musk&#8217;s purchase of Twitter was highlighted as an example of his risk-taking approach. Musk acquired the platform in October 2022 for $44 billion, using his personal funds, bank loans, and capital from other investors. 
However, X&#8217;s valuation has since taken a hit, largely due to Musk&#8217;s controversial stance on hate speech and &#8220;free speech.&#8221;

&#8220;What he&#8217;s&nbsp;been able to accomplish is&nbsp;insane, it&#8217;s incredible,&#8221; Cuban remarked. However, he did criticize Musk&#8217;s social media conduct, referring to him as a &#8220;troll&#8221;.
"What he's been able to accomplish is insane, it's incredible. I would never diminish anything he's done as an entrepreneur," Cuban said. "As a Twitter user? &#8230; He just trolls to troll to troll."
