After a sharp Tuesday rally fueled by optimism over improved U.S.-EU trade ties, Wall Street stalled midweek as rising Treasury yields reasserted pressure ahead of Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>)&#8217;s earnings report and the release of<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/federal-reserve"> key Federal Reserve minutes.</a>
Major U.S. stock indexes paused on Wednesday, digesting recent gains as yields on longer-term Treasury bonds resumed their climb. The S&amp;P 500 slipped 0.2% to 5,900 points by midday in New York, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 held flat. Small-cap stocks underperformed sharply, with the Russell 2000 down 0.8%.
Sector performance was broadly negative, with 9 of the 11 S&amp;P 500 sectors trading lower. Technology and communication services were the only sectors managing to avoid losses. 
All eyes are on Nvidia, which is set to report earnings after Wednesday's closing bell. Wall Street expects earnings per share of 88 cents and revenue of $43.2 billion, according to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pro/?utm_source=BZprocontent&amp;t=be2bearmibe3na1">Benzinga Pro</a> estimates.
Beyond the headline figures, investors will be closely watching two key aspects: the impact of the U.S. export ban on the H20 chips destined for China and the forward guidance. CEO Jensen Huang already said the company could face a $5 billion annual earnings hit due to export restrictions, making this quarter&#8217;s outlook pivotal for market sentiment.
The Federal Reserve's minutes from its May meeting will also be released. The Federal Open Market Committee left rates unchanged in the 4.25%-4.50% range. Chair Jerome Powell signaled little urgency to cut rates, citing inflation risks partly tied to newly proposed trade tariffs.
Markets will parse the minutes for hints on the Fed's timeline for easing monetary policy, particularly as inflation data remains stubbornly elevated.
After a brief relief, bond markets came under renewed pressure. The yield on the 30-year Treasury note climbed 5 basis points to 5%, while the 10-year yield rose to 4.5%. Investors remain concerned about the trajectory of U.S. fiscal policy, with swelling budget deficits raising doubts about long-term debt sustainability.
The U.S. dollar rallied for a second straight session, decoupling from other U.S. assets. Meanwhile, gold slipped 0.2%, dipping below $3,300 per ounce. Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) fell 2%, trading near $107,000 as speculative appetite in cryptocurrencies waned.

Shares of HEICO Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HEI#NYSE">HEI</a>) rose sharply during Wednesday's session following <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/HEI/earnings">better-than-expected quarterly results.</a>
Heico reported quarterly earnings of $1.12 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.03 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $1.10 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.06 billion.
HEICO shares surged 7.2% to $293.77 on Wednesday.

Heico (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HEI#NYSE">HEI</a>) reported quarterly earnings of $1.12 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.03 by 8.74 percent. This is a 27.27 percent increase over earnings of $0.88 per share from the same period last year. The company reported quarterly sales of $1.10 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.06 billion by 3.49 percent. This is a 14.91 percent increase over sales of $955.39 million the same period last year.

Wall Street charged higher Tuesday, with U.S. equities posting broad-based gains by midday as investors embraced a risk-on mood, spurred by easing Treasury yields and renewed optimism surrounding trade talks between the U.S. and the European Union.
The bond market drove a major sentiment shift. U.S. 30-year Treasury yields sank 10 basis points to 4.93%, falling below the psychologically key 5% threshold for the first time in days. 
The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TLT#NASDAQ">TLT</a>) rallied 1.5%, eyeing the strongest daily gain since late February 2025. 
This move follows a surprise development in Japan, where the Ministry of Finance announced a reduction in the issuance of longer-dated government bonds. That decision triggered an 18-basis-point drop in Japan's 30-year yield, creating a ripple effect that eased pressure across global fixed-income markets.
The sharp decline in yields helped equities rally across the board. The S&amp;P 500 rose 1.9%, extending May&#8217;s gains to more than 6%. The benchmark is now tracking its strongest monthly performance since November 2023.
Technology and small-cap stocks outpaced broader benchmarks, adding momentum to the rally. Every sector in the S&amp;P 500 traded higher on the day. 
Among the mega-caps, Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) stood out with a 6.4% gain, reclaiming price levels last seen in mid-February. 
As equity and bond sentiment improved, traditional safe-haven assets lost appeal. Gold prices fell 1%, slipping below $3,300 per ounce. The move reflects investors rotating out of defensive plays amid increasing appetite for risk.
In energy markets, crude oil dropped 1.5% to $60.50 a barrel, while copper prices slid 2.1%, signaling some caution in industrial demand despite the bullish tone in equities.
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) traded near $110,000, remaining close to its all-time highs.

Wall Street Rockets As Bond Yields Drop, Tesla Hits 3-Month Highs: What's Driving Markets Tuesday?

U.S. stock futures rose on Tuesday after closing lower for the week on Friday. Futures of major benchmark indices were trading higher in premarket.
The markets were closed on Monday in observance of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/05/45605452/is-the-stock-market-open-on-memorial-day-heres-whats-open-and-closed-on-may-26">Memorial Day</a> holiday, affecting trading activity in the exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.
President Donald Trump announced the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/05/45603240/trump-agrees-to-extend-50-tariffs-on-europe-until-july-9-it-was-my-privilege-to-do-so">extension of the 50% tariffs</a> on Sunday till July 9, which he had initially announced on Friday.
Trump said that he spoke to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who said in a post on X that the EU is ready to engage in swift and decisive negotiations.
Meanwhile, the 10-year Treasury bond yielded 4.46% and the two-year bond was at 3.98%. The CME Group's FedWatch <a href="https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/interest-rates/cme-fedwatch-tool.html">tool</a>&#8216;s projections show markets pricing a 97.9% likelihood of the Federal Reserve keeping the current interest rates unchanged in its June meeting.

Sectoral moves weighed on U.S. stocks Friday, with information technology, consumer discretionary, and communication services contributing to the S&amp;P 500&#8217;s fourth consecutive daily decline.
However, consumer staples and utilities bucked the trend to close higher.
Individual stock movements reflected broader concerns: Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) shares dropped nearly 3% after President Trump demanded domestic iPhone manufacturing, threatening a 25% tariff.
Ross Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ROST#NASDAQ">ROST</a>) plunged about 10% on weaker-than-expected second quarter EPS guidance, while Deckers Outdoor Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DECK#NYSE">DECK</a>) sank 20% following its fourth quarter earnings report.
Meanwhile, U.S. sales of new single-family homes surprisingly climbed 10.9% month-over-month to an annualized rate of 743,000 units.

HOLLYWOOD, FL, EUGENE, OR AND DERBY, KS / <a href="https://www.accessnewswire.com/">ACCESS Newswire</a> / April 21, 2025 / HEICO Corporation today announced that its Mid Continent Controls, Inc. ("MC2") subsidiary acquired all of the ownership interests of Rosen Aviation, LLC ("Rosen") for cash consideration paid at closing. Further terms and financial details were not disclosed.
HEICO stated that it expects the acquisition to be accretive to its earnings within the year following acquisition. The transaction marks HEICO's fourth acquisition in the past six months.

Mendelson, its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will become the Company's Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and that Eric A. Mendelson and Victor H. Mendelson will become the Company's Co-Chief Executive Officers effective on May 1, 2025.
Eric and Victor Mendelson have served as the Company's Co-Presidents since 2009. In addition, Eric Mendelson has served as President &amp; CEO of the Company's Flight Support Group ("FSG") since founding it in 1993 and Victor Mendelson has served as President &amp; CEO of the Company's Electronic Technologies Group ("ETG") since founding it in 1996. They will continue in these roles, in addition to serving as HEICO's Co-CEOs.
As Executive Chairman of the Board, Laurans Mendelson will continue leading the Company's Board of Directors, his deep involvement with strategic direction and planning, as well as overseeing key investor and constituency relationships.
The transition is consistent with the Company's long-time internal, orderly and planned CEO succession approach as annually reviewed by the Company's Board of Directors.
