BAD HOMBURG, Germany, July 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Fresenius Medical Care (FME), the world's leading provider of products and services for individuals with renal diseases, will extend High-Volume Hemodiafiltration&nbsp;(HighVolumeHDF)&nbsp;access for patients in seven out of 10 centers in Mexico, by partnering with the country's Coordination of National Institutes of Health and Specialty Hospitals (CCINSHAE) to develop a pilot program that provides low-income patients without medical coverage in Mexico with access to hemodialysis therapies. &nbsp;
Fresenius Medical Care Mexico and CCINSHAE signed a two-year contract to enable the installation of the Fresenius Medical Care 5008S CorDiax technology in participating renal treatment centers in CCINCSHAE Centers in Mexico City (CDMX) and its metropolitan area, for a total of 150 systems in all.

Aurora Cannabis, Bitdeer Technologies Group And Other Big Stocks Moving Lower In Wednesday's Pre-Market Session

Fresenius Medical Care AG (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FMS#NYSE">FMS</a>) on Tuesday introduced a strategic roadmap — FME Reignite — aimed at revitalizing its core business, driving innovation and reshaping its organizational culture.
By 2030, it targets operating income margins in the mid-teens in its Care Delivery and Care Enablement segments and low single-digit margins in <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/06/n45968610/fresenius-medical-care-launches-its-strategy-fme-reignite-with-increased-profitability-aspirations" rel="noreferrer noopener">Value-Based Care</a>.
The company also announced an expansion of its FME25 cost-savings program, now called FME25+. It aims for 1.05 billion euros ($1.21 billion) in sustainable savings by 2027, reinforcing its profitability goals.
During its first-quarter earnings release, the company confirmed its full-year target of around 180 million euros&nbsp;in additional annual savings, totaling 750 million euros <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/05/n45217021/fresenius-medical-care-starts-2025-with-strong-organic-revenue-and-income-growth" rel="noreferrer noopener">by year-end of 2025</a>.
Another major shift includes the launch of Value-Based Care (VBC) as a standalone reporting segment, which was previously part of the Care Delivery unit.

The segment focuses on long-term care solutions for chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease patients through partnerships with public and private payors.
In 2024, VBC generated 1.8 billion euros in revenue and leverages data integration to improve care quality and lower total medical costs across its 2,200 partner nephrologists.

Fresenius Medical Care shared further details of the upcoming U.S. market launch plan for its 5008X machine at Capital Markets Day. It provides high-volume hemodiafiltration (HVHDF).
With FDA clearance now secured, Fresenius plans a phased launch beginning in 2025 and a full commercial rollout by 2026. The company expects to replace all existing 2008T machines in its U.S. clinics by 2030 and offer HVHDF to all eligible patients.
Clinical evidence from the European CONVINCE study showed the HVHDF treatment led to a 4.4% reduction in mortality over 2.5 years and showed benefits within just three months of use.
Additional real-world data suggest the therapy reduces hospitalizations and improves patient outcomes, potentially decreasing missed treatments.
In May, Fresenius Medical Care reported adjusted earnings of 44 cents per share, beating the consensus of 38 cents. The sales reached $5.13 billion (4.8 billion euros), beating the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">consensus of $4.74 billion</a>.

Hemodiafiltration and value-based care upside to fundamental volume drivers
In the global market the average annual growth for the number of dialysis patients is projected to be between 4 and 5 percent between 2025 and 2035. This includes an average annual patient number growth of 2 plus percent in the U.S. in the same timeframe. "The projection of dialysis patient growth numbers remains unchanged as our business fundamentals remain intact. The number of people on maintenance dialysis is expected to grow by 90 percent globally to 7 million people by 2035", said Franklin W. Maddux, M.D., Chief Global Medical Officer of Fresenius Medical Care.

Launch of 5008X machine enables HVHDF to be the new standard of care in the U.S.
Fresenius Medical Care shared further details of the upcoming U.S. market launch plan for its 5008X machine at the Capital Markets Day. Introducing high-volume hemodiafiltration (HVHDF) has the potential to transform the standard of care for kidney replacement therapies in the U.S. With the final FDA clearance secured, launch plans are underway for 2025 with full commercial launch following in 2026 with comprehensive considerations across all key stakeholders of the renal care community.
For CONVINCE&#x2A; study patients, survival benefits emerged after just 3 months of HVHDF treatment, as shown in the European study, resulting in 4.4 percent fewer deaths over 2.5 years of follow up. Other real-world evidence shows that this new therapy option also comes along with reduced hospitalization rates as well as improved quality of live and outcomes for patients, which is expected to reduce the number of missed treatments in the future.
By 2030, the Company expects to have replaced all existing 2008T dialysis machines in its own U.S. clinic network with the innovative 5008X machine, offering the new standard of care to all its eligible dialysis patients. Following an increasing penetration of HVHDF treatments, clinic operations are expected to benefit from reduced mortality rates, machine-related clinic labor and supply efficiencies and potential for reduced drug usage.
As the manufacturer of the 5008X machine, the first and until today only FDA-cleared hemodiafiltration machine, Fresenius Medical Care expects to benefit from its strong U.S. market leader position in the currently installed machine base and to further increase its captive market share in disposable products. Pricing of the 5008X machine is planned to reflect the innovative value that the Company has created for patients as well as for Care Delivery and 3rd party service providers.
Introducing Value-Based Care as separate operating segment Fresenius Medical Care announced the introduction of Value-Based Care (VBC) as a separate segment, formerly part of the Care Delivery segment. This will further enhance the transparency of the financial reporting and provide additional insights into an area that is growing in relevance. Value-Based Care generated revenue of EUR 1.8 billion in fiscal year 2024 in the U.S. The Value-Based Care segment comprises the value- and risk-based care programs with public and private payors in the U.S. to provide long-term care to CKD and ESRD patients.
The new segment leverages the power of vertical integration through the Company-wide use of patient and clinic data, treatment insights and medical innovation to provide high-quality care to further improve patient and quality of care outcomes. It supports practice management and relationships with around 2,200 partner nephrologists, while reducing total medical cost.
Industry-leading margins – 2030 margin aspirations The new FME Reignite strategy supports the Company's profitability aspirations on industry-leading levels. Fresenius Medical Care aspires to realize a mid-teens percent operating income1 margin by 2030.3
For Care Delivery and Care Enablement, the Company set the aspiration of a mid-teens percent operating income1&nbsp;margin. For Value-Based Care, Fresenius Medical Care set the aspiration of a low-single digit percent operating income1&nbsp;margin.
The Company announced additional EUR 300 million savings to be achieved through the expansion of its successful FME25 program by two years. The total program with its extension runs under the name 'FME25+'. For FME25+ the Company targets to realize EUR 1.05 billion of sustainable savings by the end of 2027, with one-time costs of a similar amount to be treated as special item to operating income. The expected sustainable savings will support the aspired operating income margin1 improvement.
Returning excess capital to shareholders
Fresenius Medical Care plans to further improve its strong operating cash flow generation in the coming years and REIGNITE VALUE CREATION for shareholders.
"In support of the FME Reignite strategy, the new capital allocation framework puts a clear focus on shareholder value generation," explained Martin Fischer, Chief Financial Officer of Fresenius Medical Care. "To invest in our core business for sustainable profitable growth, we plan between EUR 800 million and 1 billion of capex annually for the years 2025 to 2030. In parallel, we will further optimize our capital structure."
A strong balance sheet, financial flexibility and a commitment to a sustainable Investment Grade rating are key aspects of the financial policy. Reflecting the volatile macroeconomic environment, Fresenius Medical Care lowered its self-imposed target band for the net financial leverage to between 2.5x and 3.0x (before: 3.0x to 3.5x).

The new dividend policy foresees a stable and predictable dividend development, resulting in a 30 to 40 percent payout ratio2. Germany's government is prepared to increase national defense spending, with fundamental and technical indicators pointing toward further gains. The 50-day MA has been a strong support level, and the RSI has dipped to its lowest point in weeks. A big selloff last week took shares down to the 50-day MA once again before immediately bouncing higher; this could be an ideal entry point for new investors with long-term timeframes.

Margin growth isn't the only thing driving the stock up over 25% this year either.

The stock formed a Golden Cross when the 50-day MA rose above the 200-day MA in October, sending shares from $185 to $260 in under six months. After the tariff pullback in April, the stock quickly broke back above the 50-day MA but failed to reach new all-time highs, unlike some of its German counterparts. The RSI is fading, which could signal weakening momentum; however, the 50-day MA is also a potential support level, as the overall trend still points upward.

Quest Diagnostics Inc&nbsp;(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DGX#NYSE">DGX</a>) reported on Tuesday that first-quarter 2025 sales of $2.65 billion, up 12.1% year over year, beat the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">consensus of $2.63 billion</a>.
The diagnostic test provider reported quarterly adjusted earnings of $2.21 per share, up 8.3%, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/04/n44917998/quest-diagnostics-reports-first-quarter-2025-financial-results-reaffirms-revenue-and-adjusted-dilu" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">beating the consensus of $2.15</a>.
&#8220;In the first quarter, we delivered strong revenue growth of approximately 12%, including nearly 2.5% in organic growth, as demand rebounded in March following weather impacts early in the quarter. Our growth was due to contributions from acquisitions and large enterprise accounts, demand for our advanced diagnostics portfolio, and expanded health plan access,&#8221; said Jim Davis, chairman, CEO and president. &#8220;We are reaffirming our revenue and adjusted EPS guidance for the full year 2025.&#8221;

Revenue per requisition increased by 0.3%, requisition volume increased 12.4% and organic requisition volume fell slightly by 0.9%.
Adjusted Operating income increased 16.3% to $406 million, while margin improved from 14.8% to 15.3%.
Outlook: Quest Diagnostics reaffirms 2025 guidance for <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/01/43346695/quest-diagnostics-delivers-q4-earnings-beat-the-details" rel="noreferrer noopener">revenue of $10.70 billion—$10.85 billion</a> versus the consensus of $10.78 billion and adjusted EPS of $9.55-$9.80 compared to the consensus of $9.68.
In February, Quest agreed to acquire select assets of Fresenius Medical Care AG&#8217;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FMS#NYSE">FMS</a>) wholly owned Spectra Laboratories. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2025. The transition of services is expected to be <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/02/n43910114/fresenius-medical-care-announces-divestment-of-select-laboratory-assets-to-quest-diagnostics" rel="noreferrer noopener">complete by early 2026</a>.
In addition, under a separate agreement, Quest will provide comprehensive laboratory services related to end-stage kidney disease and specialized water testing for patients and providers served by dialysis centers operated by Fresenius Medical Care and its wholly owned and joint-venture partners in the U.S.
In February, GRAIL Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GRAL#NASDAQ">GRAL</a>) and Quest Diagnostics announced the initial phase of a program to improve provider access to GRAIL&#8217;s Galleri multi-cancer early detection test.
Providers can now order the Galleri test directly from GRAIL through the Quest Diagnostics connectivity system that enables providers in the U.S. to order and receive reports of laboratory tests electronically through Quest&#8217;s Quanum laboratory portal and more than 900 electronic health record (EHR) systems. More than 500,000 providers used the Quest connectivity <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/02/n43657458/grail-and-quest-diagnostics-provide-grails-galleri-multi-cancer-early-detection-mced-test-through-" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">system last year</a>.
William Blair writes, &#8220;At first glance, these results are in line with what we would expect from Quest — consistent and with little drama.&#8221;
&#8220;We remain comfortable with the 2025 guide, as Quest continues to benefit from prudent utilization assumptions, mix benefits, flattish unit pricing, a more favorable regulatory environment and plenty of acquisition targets,&#8221; analyst Andrew Brackmann noted.
The William Blair analyst added, &#8220;Beyond the favorable industry backdrop, we believe Quest should be well insulated from macroeconomic noise, with the overwhelming majority of revenue coming from the U.S. and what we think will be minimal (likely offset) impact from tariffs.&#8221; The analyst reiterated the Outperform rating.
