Shares of companies within the broader technology sector are trading higher amid overall market sentiment following recent earnings reports from major companies.

Trading platform Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HOOD#NASDAQ">HOOD</a>) has grown from a strong base of young users and retail users into a platform that caters to all, a development the company's Chief Brokerage Officer Steve Quirk told Benzinga is "kind of exciting to see" during the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/fintech/24/10/41371235/robinhood-announces-futures-trading-index-options-trading">2024 HOOD Summit.</a>

Blackstone reported distributed earnings of $1.01 per share, topping consensus estimates of 91 cents per share, with the beat being partially driven by "lower quality" items, Worthington said. Base management fees of $1.704 billion came in below consensus of $1.730 billion, he added.
