Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) purist Max Keiser said Monday that the apex cryptocurrency has the potential to challenge the dollar&#8217;s place as the world&#8217;s reserve currency, and that U.S. politicians are aware of this.

What Happened: The sales have largely been driven by the company's Model Y, as Tesla sold over 2,346 units, up from 690 units in May, comprising both the old and new versions of the compact all-electric SUV, Reuters reported on Monday.

As the S&amp;P 500 index bounced back from its April lows, a technical expert highlights that the indicators point toward a real recovery as the index reversed its short-term downtrend, doubling its uptrend over the course of the recovery.
What Happened: According to a LPL Financial chart showing the balance of the S&amp;P 500&#8217;s uptrends versus downtrends, on April 8, the uptrend accounted for 29.4%, while downtrends stood at 70.2%.

However, the index quickly recovered by May 29, where the uptrends doubled, standing at 60%, while downtrends accounted for 39%.
Adam Turnquist, the chief technical strategist at LPL Financial, explained that this change was led by the significant technical progress over the last month of May.
&#8220;The index has reversed a short-term downtrend and continues to hold above its recent price gap above the 200-day moving average (dma).&#8221;
He stated that a close above the May highs of 5,969 points should open the door for a retest of the prior high at 6,144 points.
&#8220;There is a growing list of technical evidence that suggests this recovery is real, and not a &#8216;bull trap&#8217; or &#8216;bear market rally.&#8217; For investors, this means dips above support should be used as buying opportunities,&#8221; he added.
This comes after the broader market wrapped up the month of May with a 6.2% gain, marking its best month since November 2023 and its best May since 1990.
Turnquist highlighted that when the index rallies 3% or more in May, historically, a month plagued by "Sell in May and Go Away" sentiment, the year-end returns average at 8.9%, with 73% of periods producing positive returns.

Why It Matters: The exchange-traded fund tracking the S&amp;P 500 index, SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>), which ended Monday at $592.71, has risen above its 200-day simple daily moving average of $581.94.
It was also above its eight, 50, and 20-day moving averages. Its relative strength index stood in the neutral zone at 62.60, whereas its MACD line of 9.10 was below the signal line of 9.44, which indicates a bearish signal. This suggests that the short-term momentum is weaker than the medium-term momentum.
However, since both the MACD and the signal line are above the zero line, the momentum is bullish, despite the recent bearish crossover.
Additionally, the negative histogram value of -0.34 confirms the bearish crossover and indicates a loss of bullish momentum or the start of bearish momentum.
Thus, the current state suggests that the upward momentum is waning, and there might be downward pressure or consolidation.

On Tuesday, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSM#NYSE">TSM</a>) CEO CC Wei said that while <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/04/44881525/tsmc-confident-amid-trump-tariff-turmoil-ceo-cc-wei-says-no-change-in-customer-behavior-despite-nvidia-h20-chip-curbs">U.S. tariffs are creating</a> some headwinds, robust demand for AI chips continues to exceed the company's supply capabilities.
What Happened: Speaking at TSMC's annual shareholder meeting in Hsinchu, Taiwan, Wei acknowledged that the tariffs imposed under President Donald Trump's trade policies are having an indirect impact, reported Reuters.
"Tariffs do have some impact on TSMC, but not directly. That's because tariffs are imposed on importers, not exporters," he said, adding that TSMC is an exporter.
"However, tariffs can lead to slightly higher prices and when prices go up, demand may go down."

Wei also denied reports that TSMC plans to build chip factories in the UAE and reaffirmed compliance with U.S. and Taiwanese regulations regarding export controls, particularly after halting shipments to China's Sophgo.

What Happened: Ives shared that Musk's return to Tesla is crucial for the EV giant's robotics and AI vision, stating that it represents 90% of the company's future value, in an interview with Yahoo Finance <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/video/tesla-regained-biggest-asset-musk-201926865.html">on</a> Monday.
"The brand damage, I believe, is now contained and most of that is in the rearview mirror with him at the Trump administration," Ives said before adding that the focus is now on rebounding sales in Europe, the U.S. and China.
Ives also predicted that Tesla sales will see a rebound in China in the second half of the year, a "stabilization" in Europe, as well as a rebound in the U.S. sometime in Q3 2025.
Referring to Tesla's surge in value, Ives chalked it up to the CEO's recommitment to Tesla. "Once Musk recommitted to Tesla, days in the White House were done, Tesla got back its biggest asset."

Why It Matters: Ives' comments are in line with the investor's bullish views on Tesla, despite several experts offloading Tesla positions, including <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/25/05/45665076/gary-blacks-future-fund-sells-remaining-tesla-stock-reitrates-310-price-target-tslas-valuation-has-become-disconnected">Future Fund LLC's Gary Black</a>.
The company is proceeding with the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/25/05/45662671/tesla-targets-june-12-for-robotaxi-launch-in-austin-elon-musk-says-company-ramped-up-fsd-testing-a-month-ahead-of-schedule">June 12 Robotaxi launch</a> in Austin. Musk said that the company had been testing Unsupervised FSD in Austin in the buildup to the robotaxi launch "a month ahead of schedule."
Tesla sales continue to decline across multiple markets worldwide, with data showing that the company's sales <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/eurozone/25/06/45736798/tesla-sales-hit-3-year-low-in-this-european-nation-despite-musks-claims-of-no-demand-problem">fell 67% year-over-year in France</a>, marking a three-year low for the automaker.

Elon Musk Is Tesla's 'Biggest Asset,' Says Dan Ives As He Reiterates His $2 Trillion Market Cap For TSLA Stock

Veteran investor, Arthur Richards Rule IV, better known as Rick Rule, is the latest expert to sound the alarm on the long-term stability of the U.S. Dollar, warning that decades of unchecked federal spending and unfunded liabilities could erode the greenback&#8217;s purchasing power over the next decade.
What Happened: Speaking with Kitco News over the weekend, Rule says that the U.S. Government&#8217;s $30 trillion on-balance-sheet debt is only the beginning. 
He highlights the $100 trillion in unfunded promises, such as Medicare, Social Security, and federal pensions, which takes the total liability burden far higher, and closer to the nation&#8217;s total household net worth at $141 trillion. This only leaves a $11 trillion buffer against household wealth, which he believes is closing quickly.

Both categories of liabilities are growing by around $2 trillion per year, Rule says. At that pace, the remaining margin will disappear within five years, raising questions about long-term solvency.
Rule believes that the country, at its current fiscal state, can no longer service its obligations such as social security, Medicare, and pensions, while adding that "the only viable path is to allow the dollar to decline." &#8220;I believe because of this $100 trillion in unfunded entitlement liabilities that the U.S. dollar will lose 75% of its purchasing power over 10 years,&#8221; he says, pointing to the 1970s as precedent, when U.S. inflation wiped out 75% of the dollar's purchasing power in a single decade. The period also saw gold prices rise nearly 30-fold.
Speaking on gold, Rule made a very bullish case for the yellow metal, saying that he doesn&#8217;t own gold because he thinks it can get to $3,500 an ounce, he says, &#8220;I own gold because I'm afraid it's going to $12,000,&#8221; because &#8220;arithmetically, it makes absolute sense.&#8221;
Rule says that &#8220;the system isn't solvent. It's just liquid, for now,&#8221; warning investors relying on traditional portfolios and government bonds will find themselves eroded by this silent inflation. 
&#8220;As purchasing power quietly deteriorates, people will either adapt or pay the price,&#8221; he concludes. &#8220;You can't paper over arithmetic forever.&#8221;
Why It Matters: Other leading market experts have echoed similar concerns regarding U.S. assets, while reaffirming their conviction in gold.
Investor Chamath Palihapitiya recently <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/05/45686648/chamath-palihapitiya-says-this-old-fashioned-asset-is-among-safe-trades-if-the-possibility-of-quantum-computing-cracking-bitcoin-is-even-remotely-true">called gold</a> the &#8220;only safe trade&#8221; on news of quantum computers capable of cracking Bitcoin&#8217;s encryption.
Leading hedge funds and financial institutions such as Bridgewater Associates, BlackRock Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BLK#NYSE">BLK</a>), and the Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GS#NYSE">GS</a>) have all made a beeline to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs/specialty-etfs/25/05/45457712/move-over-miners-hedge-funds-are-the-new-gold-diggers-ray-dalio-blackrock-goldman-sachs-others-stake-claims-in-gld">increase their exposure</a> to gold, citing similar concerns of hyper-borrowing by the U.S.
Price Action: The spot price of Gold stands at $3,362.37, up 2.21% on Monday. The SPDR Gold Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GLD#NYSE">GLD</a>), which tracks the price of gold, is up 26.99% year-to-date.
