<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/09/40857265/kraken-pushes-back-against-sec-lawsuit-demands-jury-trial">Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken</a> is preparing to go public, capitalizing on improved regulatory conditions in the United States under President Donald Trump's administration.
The company, legally registered as Payward Inc., is reportedly planning an initial public offering as early as the first quarter of next year.
What Happened: While the decision is not yet finalized, sources familiar with the matter indicate that Kraken is actively working towards a public listing, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-03-07/crypto-exchange-kraken-said-to-prepare-for-ipo-in-2026">according</a> to a Bloomberg report on Mar. 7.
In a statement addressing the speculation, Kraken emphasized its dedication to financial transparency. 
"We recently disclosed our 2024 financial highlights to improve transparency, following our lead in publishing proof-of-reserves. We will continue prioritizing openness and will pursue public markets when it aligns with the interests of our clients, partners, and shareholders," the company said.
Kraken has long considered going public, but its plans were hindered by regulatory enforcement actions during the Biden administration. 
The company <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/03/44100314/sec-drops-lawsuit-against-crypto-exchange-kraken-ceo-calls-it-massive-win-bayc-nft-creator-yuga-labs-also-gets-reprieve">settled one case with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission</a> and fought another until the agency ultimately dropped it without imposing any penalties.

Why It Matters: Under Trump, the regulatory environment has shifted, creating new opportunities for crypto firms.
The president has openly supported the industry and is set to meet with over two dozen crypto executives, including Kraken Co-CEO Arjun Sethi, at the White House on Friday.
Kraken's financial performance has strengthened amid the broader recovery in cryptocurrency markets. 
The company's revenue more than doubled in 2024, reaching $1.5 billion, with adjusted earnings of $380 million. 
In comparison, Coinbase (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/COIN#NASDAQ">COIN</a>), the largest U.S.-based crypto exchange, reported around $6.6 billion in revenue for the same period.

Kraken is one of several crypto firms eyeing a public listing as IPO activity in the sector gains momentum. 
Other firms reportedly considering going public include stablecoin issuer Circle (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/">USDC</a>), digital asset custodian BitGo, and exchanges such as Gemini and Bullish.
Since its founding in 2011, Kraken has raised approximately $27 million in primary funding, a relatively small amount compared to its industry peers. 
With its IPO plans progressing, industry observers are closely monitoring how the company navigates its next phase of growth in a changing regulatory landscape.

The study met its primary endpoint of clinical responsea in all icotrokinra dose groups evaluated and demonstrated clinically meaningful differences versus placebo in key secondary endpoints of clinical remissionb, symptomatic remission and endoscopic improvement at Week 12.&nbsp;
In the ANTHEM-UC study (n=252), three doses of once daily icotrokinra were tested with all meeting the primary endpoint of clinical response at Week 12. A response rate of 63.5% for patients treated with the highest dose of icotrokinra was achieved at Week 12 versus 27% for placebo (p&lt;0.001). Further, 30.2% of patients treated with the highest dose of icotrokinra demonstrated clinical remission at Week 12 versus 11.1% of patients who received placebo (p&lt;0.001). Biodexa Pharmaceuticals PLC ("Biodexa" or the "Company") (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BDRX#NASDAQ">BDRX</a>), a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company developing a pipeline of innovative products for the treatment of diseases with unmet medical needs, today announced the results of its Type C meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") regarding the protocol for the planned registrational Phase 3 study of eRapa in familial adenomatous polyposis ("FAP").
The Type C meeting followed a productive End of Phase 2 meeting with FDA and the publication of Phase 2 data of eRapa in FAP at six months at Digestive Disease Week in May 2024 and 12 months data at InSight, Barcelona in June 2024. The Type C meeting included a discussion of the statistical plan, the safety database and, most importantly, a composite endpoint for the Phase 3 study. FDA representatives from both Gastroenterology and Oncology Divisions provided valuable input into the proposed program and the Company believes there is a clear path forward for initiation of the registrational Phase 3 study in FAP in the U.S. next quarter.
The planned registrational Phase 3 study of eRapa in FAP will be a double-blind placebo-controlled trial in 168 patients, randomized 2:1 drug / placebo. It is expected the study will be conducted in approximately 30 clinical sites across the US and Europe. The US component of the study will be conducted by LumaBridge, based in San Antonio, Texas and the European component will be conducted by Precision for Medicine LLC. The Phase 3 study is supported by a $17.0 million grant from the Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas ("CPRIT") and a Company match of $8.5 million which has already been paid, in full, into escrow.
