What Happened: On July 8, Portnoy posted a video on X, claiming to have <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/07/46327971/dave-portnoy-drops-10-million-on-tesla-hoping-for-10-bounce-in-2-weeks-or-less-from-crazyelon-bet">bet $10 million on Tesla</a> shares, likely around $293 per share, where the stock was trading at the time. 
&#8220;Update – I bought the 10 milly $TSLA hoping for 10% bounce in 2 weeks or less,&#8221; Portnoy posted on X, tagging the move as a #CrazyElon play, referring to CEO Elon Musk&#8217;s decision to form a new political party, dubbed &#8220;The America Party,&#8221; which led to a nearly 7% <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/tech/25/07/46291445/tesla-tanks-68-billion-as-elon-musk-unveils-america-party-investors-rattle-over-political-pivot-trump-backlash-adds-fuel">drop in the stock</a>.

Portnoy said in the video that he aims to make 10%, or &#8220;a million bucks&#8221; from the trade, which he promptly plans to take to the Saratoga Race Course in New York.
Now, a little under two weeks later, Portnoy&#8217;s trade has already hit its target, with the company closing at $329 a share on Friday, a gain of 12.28%. 
Portnoy, who regularly shares his latest sports wagers and their results on his X account, is yet to provide an update on this trade.

According to a survey of Benzinga readers, 71% believe that Tesla&#8217;s shares will fall over the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/politics/25/07/46332361/musk-political-push-to-hurt-tesla-stock-71-say-stock-will-fall-in-next-12-months">next 12 months</a>, owing to Musk&#8217;s renewed political push. 
Price Action: Tesla shares were up 3.21% on Friday, trading at $329.65, and are up 1.65% after hours.

Tim Burchett (R‑Tenn.), on Sunday, renewed his push for the Justice Department to open its secret Jeffrey Epstein files, shrugging off President Donald Trump's description of the effort as "stupid" and "foolish."
What Happened: Appearing on ABC's "This Week," Burchett said unsealing grand‑jury transcripts would be "a start," but warned that Washington "doesn't give up its secrets very easy." "I don't think we're ever going to get to the bottom of … all of it, Ma'am," he <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/gop-rep-tim-burchett-doubles-call-release-epstein/story?id=123902429">told</a> co‑anchor Martha Raddatz.

Burchett, co‑author of the bipartisan Epstein Files Transparency Act, insists any release must shield minors and "folks who may be innocent," yet he praised the administration's belated action. He added, "If she finishes strong on this, then I'm all for it," referencing Bondi's stewardship of the case.
Why It Matters: Bondi's early handling drew fire after a heavily publicized binder proved to contain widely available documents. Burchett called that rollout a "blunder." Tim Burchett Shrugs Off Trump's 'Stupid' Remark, Doubles Down On Jeffrey Epstein Files Push: 'Doesn't Give Up Its Secrets Very Easy'

President&nbsp;Donald Trump&nbsp;shared on Sunday an old Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) explainer video by cryptocurrency advocate Peter Van Valkenburgh, describing it as the &#8220;greatest&#8221; of all time.
What Happened: Trump posted Van Valkenburgh&#8217;s October 2018 speech at the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee Hearing via his Truth Social account.
In the video, Van Valkenburgh, Executive Director of cryptocurrency advocacy think tank Coin Center, described Bitcoin as a tool that allows people to send and receive value globally, without the need for a middleman.
&#8220;The lack of any corporation in between means that Bitcoin is the world's first public digital payments infrastructure,&#8221; he had said. &#8220;Bitcoin is the world's first globally accessible public money.&#8221;
Van Valkenburgh also outlined Bitcoin&#8217;s limitations, including its volatility and lack of mainstream use, but urged for their adoption to challenge the dominance of larger and more powerful corporate intermediaries.
