President-elect Trump is once again rattling the tariff saber, threatening a wave of new tariffs against trade partners like China, Mexico, and Canada. While the actual outcome of any tariff proposal remains murky, given conflicting statements from Trump administration officials, investors should be prepared to adjust their portfolios once policy crystallizes.
Today, we&#8217;re taking a look at the five stocks to sell ahead of any tariffs on Mexico.
In 2023, the United States imported more than $480 billion worth of goods from Mexico, with more than 50% of the total coming from vehicles, electrical equipment, and machinery. Additionally, Mexican imports to the US include medical equipment, furniture, and perishables like fruit, vegetables, and (of course) alcohol.
Below are five stocks investors shouldn't get too attached to if the harshest of Trump&#8217;s proposed tariffs are implemented. Each of the companies on this list has heightened exposure to tariff risk due to large portions of their production coming from Mexican facilities.

</ol>
GM is considered one of the Big 3 automakers in the United States, but the days of the big Detroit assembly lines are long gone. Like many car manufacturers, GM has outsourced large chunks of its vehicle and parts production to factories outside the United States in countries like Mexico, Canada, Brazil, China, and Argentina. Some of these plants produce critical parts and systems like transmissions, engine blocks, and other smaller components, but many are used for full-scale production of some of GM's best-selling vehicles.&nbsp;

For example, the Ramos Aripze assembly plant has produced the landmark Chevy Blazer since 1981 (the newer Chevy Equinox is also made here). Other vehicles with at least some full-scale assembly in Mexico include the GMC Terrain, GMC Sierra, and Chevy Silverado. And here's a double whammy &#8211; GM brands like Cadillac and Buick also have significant exposure to China. GM is far from the only American carmaker that could face pressure from tariffs, but its stock isn't well-positioned to absorb added costs or a sales slowdown.

</ol>
If you're reading this article at home, you're likely within shouting distance of a Whirlpool product. The company sells major household appliances like washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, stoves, ovens, and smaller devices like blenders and mixers. Whirlpool sells these items under its own brand name but also popular US brand models like Maytag, KitchenAid, and Jenn-Air.

Whirlpool is a multinational company with plants and offices worldwide, but given the threat of tariffs, its manufacturing presence in Mexico is hard to ignore. Four of the company's 15 North American production facilities are in Mexico, and in March, it invested $65 million in its Celaya plant. Selling appliances during a volatile trade war can be difficult as many consumers simply put off buying a new dishwasher or fridge in hopes that tariffs will be reduced or their income will rise to meet the higher price. Big ticket items like appliances and cars tend to be most susceptible to tariffs as consumers change their behavior by shopping around or holding out for better deals.&nbsp;

</ol>
Tariffs might most affect expensive items like cars and dishwashers, but smaller items can also feel the sting, especially if they have no production alternatives. Constellation Brands is an S&amp;P 500 member and one of the largest beverage makers in the world, but a few of its key products are produced from a handful of locations in Mexico, and no alternative currently exists.

Constellation Brands sells wine, spirits, and beer, but its breweries are most under fire regarding tariffs. The company exclusively brews beers like Corona, Modelo, and Pacifico in Mexico at two locations, with a third in Veracruz currently in the works. Beers like Corona and Modelo are popular summertime staples, but American consumers have no shortage of beer selections and will simply replace expensive light beer brands with cheaper ones. Additionally, STZ's stock price has been in a downtrend for the better part of the last 12 months, and these headlines certainly don't provide any tailwinds.

Skyworks has a significant manufacturing operation in Mexico. Its Baja California plant houses a state-of-the-art assembly facility, as well as testing and finishing services. The Baja California plant is a key piece in Skyworks&#8217; business model, as most of its products and devices are completed at this location and then shipped to the United States. SWKS share price has slumped since the days of the 2022 bear market and has failed to regain momentum during the AI bull run over the last two years. A renewed focus on tariffs will unlikely expand the company's fortunes.

The company sells products for infection prevention, medical screenings, biosciences, surgery and procedures, medication delivery, wound care, and more. If you've been to the doctor recently, there's a good chance you were poked and prodded with some type of Becton Dickinson product.

On CNBC's &#8220;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/mad-money-lightning-round">Mad Money Lightning Round</a>,&#8221; Jim Cramer said he likes Ralph Lauren (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RL#NYSE">RL</a>), adding that it &#8220;goes higher.&#8221;
On Nov. 7, Ralph Lauren reported better-than-expected second-quarter results. Quarterly adjusted earnings per share of $2.54, topped the consensus of $2.41. Quarterly revenues of $1.726 billion beat the street <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/11/41816035/ralph-lauren-soars-as-q2-results-outpace-expectations-ceo-eyes-holiday-season-with-raised-revenue-g">view of $1.677 billion.</a>
&#8220;If you're going to go there, I insist on you going into Trane (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TT#NYSE">TT</a>) or Carrier (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CARR#NYSE">CARR</a>) along with this,&#8221; Cramer said when asked about Limbach Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LMB#NASDAQ">LMB</a>). &#8220;This is the spec, I like the others because they're not spec.&#8221;
On Dec. 2, Limbach Holdings announced that it has acquired Consolidated Mechanical, Inc.
Cramer recommended not buying Vertiv Holdings Co (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VRT#NYSE">VRT</a>) as this level as the stock is very high. &#8220;You just came across it. Others have come across it long before,&#8221; he added.
On Nov. 19, BofA Securities analyst Andrew Obin reiterated the Buy rating on Vertiv Holdings, with a price forecast of $150. Obin writes that, management has revised its organic revenue growth forecast to a 12%-14% CAGR from 2024 to 2029, up from a previous range of 8%-11%.
SoundHound AI, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SOUN#NASDAQ">SOUN</a>) finally &#8220;broke out,&#8221; Cramer said, &#8220;Once they go parabolic like this, you usually get a couple more days of parabola, but then please ka-ching ka-ching.&#8221;
On Thursday, SoundHound AI announced the deployment of its voice AI Smart Ordering system at all 130 Torchy&#8217;s Tacos locations.
&#8220;This is what I call an up stock,&#8221; Cramer said when asked about Robinhood (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HOOD#NASDAQ">HOOD</a>), &#8220;I think it's headed to 35 and we can revisit it there.&#8221;
On Wednesday, Robinhood provided a business update showing growth across customers, assets under custody and trading volumes. In a new filing released Wednesday morning, Robinhood said funded customers grew by <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/12/42316347/robinhood-markets-stock-is-rising-wednesday-whats-going-on">more than 400,000 in November.</a>
When asked about Skyworks Solutions (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SWKS#NASDAQ">SWKS</a>), he said, &#8220;I think you may have to suffer through one quarter or even two quarters before you get a turn there. It is going to take that long.&#8221;
On Nov. 12, the company reported adjusted EPS of $1.55, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.52. Quarterly sales of $1.025 million were in line with the analyst consensus estimate.

Skyworks Solutions Inc&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SWKS#NASDAQ">SWKS</a>) shares are trading lower on Wednesday after the company reported&nbsp;fourth-quarter&nbsp;results and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/SWKS/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">several analysts cut the price target</a>.
Yesterday, the company reported adjusted EPS of&nbsp;$1.55, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of&nbsp;$1.52, and sales of&nbsp;$1.025&nbsp;million, which aligned <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/11/41938863/skyworks-beats-q4-eps-estimates-projects-ai-driven-smartphone-surge-despite-modest-q1-outlook" rel="noreferrer noopener">with the&nbsp;consensus estimate</a>.&nbsp;
Skyworks Solutions projects&nbsp;first-quarter&nbsp;of 2025 revenue to be&nbsp;$1.05 billion –&nbsp;$1.08 billion ($1.096 billion&nbsp;estimate) with adjusted EPS of&nbsp;$1.57 at the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">mid-point of the revenue range versus the estimate of&nbsp;$1.72.</a>
Morgan Stanley cut the price target to $87 from $117 while maintaining an Equal Weight rating. On the other hand, Mizuho reaffirmed an Outperform rating and cut the price target to $105 from $127.
Needham analyst Nick Doyle maintained a Hold rating and wrote that Skyworks delivered a solid quarter but provided weaker-than-expected guidance due to tempered growth expectations in Broad Markets, impacted by macro weakness and excess inventories.
Unlike its peers, Skyworks&#8217; Mobile segment performance and guidance were mostly in line, according to the analyst.
Doyle notes that the negative share shifts are largely behind, with more opportunities emerging next year.
The analyst introduced FY25 estimates, projecting an 8% decline in Mobile due to content losses, but anticipates a modest recovery in FY26 as next-gen content and units become clearer and Broad Markets inventory issues subside.
Also, Benchmark analyst Cody Acree reaffirmed a Hold rating on the stock.
The rating reflects the company&#8217;s share losses at Apple and Samsung, limited exposure to China, and anticipated negative earnings leverage for at least the next year.
The analyst says that investors are concerned about the company&#8217;s competitive position in the growing but still sluggish smartphone market, ongoing inventory issues in Broad Markets, and unexpected weakness in the automotive, industrial, and networking sectors.

Investors can breathe a sigh of relief as October inflation data met economists&#8217; expectations, though the annual headline rate showed a slight uptick <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/economics/macro-economic-events/24/11/41938762/october-inflation-rate-rises-to-2-6-as-expected-december-interest-rate-cut-remains-uncertain">from the previous month.</a>
As anticipated, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 2.6% year-over-year in October, marking an increase from September's 2.4% but snapping six straight months of declines.
Excluding food and energy, core inflation held steady at 3.3% for the third consecutive month, highlighting some stickiness in underlying price pressures that remain above the Fed&#8217;s 2% target.
In response to the data, speculators raised their expectations for an interest-rate cut, with increased bets on a 25-basis-point reduction in December. Market-implied probabilities now indicate a 79% likelihood of a December rate cut, up from 58% before the CPI report, as per the CME FedWatch tool.
Following the release, Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari expressed optimism about inflation&#8217;s trajectory, stating on Bloomberg TV, &#8220;I have confidence inflation is headed in the right direction.&#8221; 
On Tuesday, Kashkari had flagged the risk of a rate pause in December if inflation data <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/econ-s/24/11/41919011/feds-kashkari-warns-of-december-interest-rate-pause-risk-surprises-to-the-upside">surprises to the upside. </a>
&#8220;I am not yet seeing a lot of upside inflation risks; the bigger risk is getting stuck,&#8221; he added on Wednesday. 
Markets reacted positively, with U.S. equity futures slightly rising, while Treasury yields and the dollar eased amid increased rate-cut expectations.
