The Taiwanese Apple Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) and Nvidia supplier&#8217;s revenue grew by over 15%, reaching $64.8 billion. December revenue grew by over 42% to $19.9 billion.
Investors expect Nvidia to offer positive pointers at CES, as Focus Taiwan <a href="https://focustaiwan.tw/business/202501060009" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">cites</a> MasterLink Securities analyst Tom Tang alluding to Nvidia chief Jenseng Huang&#8216;s keynote speech at the event.
The semiconductor chip stocks had a remarkable run in 2024, backed by the AI frenzy, pivotal to the S&amp;P 500 and Nasdaq index&#8217;s&nbsp;gains of 23%—29% in 2024.
Last year, a third of the 10 global companies worth over $1 trillion valuation were from the chip industry.
Notably, Nvidia&#8217;s valuation <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/42793394/nvidias-2-trillion-ai-rally-fueled-by-chips-startups-and-robotics" rel="noreferrer noopener">surged by over</a> $2 trillion in 2024, breaching the $3 trillion mark. This was backed by its GPUs, which initially targeted video games but ended up being critical hardware for developing AI models. Broadcom joined the&nbsp;trillion-dollar club&nbsp;in 2024, supported by demand for its custom chips.
Contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/42784508/taiwan-semiconductors-2nm-progress-fuels-taiwan-index-musk-highlights-talent-pool" rel="noreferrer noopener">remains on track</a> to produce 2nm chips&nbsp;in Taiwan and commercialize 4nm chips at its Arizona fab. It is a key supplier to companies such as Apple, Nvidia, AMD, and more.
Dan Ives of Wedbush expects tech stocks to post a 25% gain in 2025, backed by favorable policies from President-elect Donald Trump and Big Tech spending.

Shares of semiconductor companies are trading lower amid overall market weakness following the Fed's rate decision to cut rates by 25 basis points.

On Wednesday, semiconductor contract manufacturing company STMicroelectronics NV (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/STM#NYSE">STM</a>) introduced the first product of its strategic collaboration with wireless technology company Qualcomm Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QCOM#NASDAQ">QCOM</a>) Technologies to simplify the development of advanced wireless solutions for industrial and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/12/g42430444/stmicroelectronics-introduces-first-stm32-ready-wireless-iot-modules-leveraging-collaboration-with" rel="noreferrer noopener">consumer IoT applications</a>.
The&nbsp;partnership&nbsp;aims to deliver internet-of-things (IoT) modules initially leveraging STMicroelectronics&#8217; ecosystem and Qualcomm Technologies&#8217; wireless connectivity solutions.
The first of these modules contains a Qualcomm multiprotocol connectivity system-on-a-chip (SoC), pre-loaded with Wi-Fi6, Bluetooth 5.3 qualified, and Thread combo, made easy to integrate with any STMicroelectronics microcontroller (MCU) or microprocessor (MPU).

The module will support Matter protocol over Wi-Fi for future-proof connectivity.
The module also contains 4Mbyte Flash for code and data storage and a 40MHz crystal to aid the system integration. It has an integrated PCB antenna or micro RF (uFL) connector for an external antenna.
In October, STMicroelectronics and Qualcomm <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41124391/qualcomm-partners-with-stmicroelectronics-to-boost-ai-powered-iot-connectivity" rel="noreferrer noopener">partnered to integrate</a> AI-powered wireless connectivity with STMicroelectronics&#8217; microcontroller ecosystem for IoT.

In November, at its Capital Markets Day, STMicroelectronics reaffirmed its <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42092265/stmicroelectronics-targets-18-billion-revenue-eyes-22-24-margins-by-2028" rel="noreferrer noopener">$20 billion-plus revenue</a> target, gross margins nearing 50%, and operating margins surpassing 30% through 2030. I
t also announced an intermediate financial model for 2027-2028 that projected revenues of ~$18 billion, gross margins of 44%-46 %, and operating margins of 22%-24%. STMicroelectronics expects fourth-quarter revenue of $3.32 billion, in line with the consensus estimate.
Also, in November, at Qualcomm&#8217;s 2024 Investor Day, the company said it expected a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/24/11/42088437/qualcomm-targets-900-billion-market-by-2030-big-bets-on-iot-and-automotive" rel="noreferrer noopener">$900 billion TAM</a> by 2030, driven by connected edge devices and growth in the IoT and Automotive segments.
It eyed $22 billion combined revenue from Automotive and IoT divisions by fiscal 2029. Qualcomm expects first-quarter revenue of $10.5 billion-$11.3 billion, compared to the $10.9 billion analyst estimate.
