&#8220;The U.S. does the importing, China does the exporting, the U.S. does the consuming, and China does the saving,&#8221; he says, referring to the argument he had made several decades ago, stating that &#8220;Chimerica&#8221; would eventually turn into Chimaera, a mythical fire-breathing monster that causes destruction.
&#8220;The interesting thing&#8221; about this, Ferguson notes, is that despite the increasing hostility between the two nations, the economic relationship between the two countries has been &#8220;extraordinarily persistent,&#8221; with the U.S. still importing enormous amounts from China.

Wedbush Securities' managing director Dan Ives has reiterated his bullish views on Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) despite tense relations between U.S. President Donald Trump and CEO Elon Musk.
What Happened: "Trump/Musk going from BFFs to frenemies does not change our bullish view of the autonomous path looking forward," Ives said in a post on social media platform X on Sunday.
The Tesla bull then shared how he still expects President Trump to introduce a federal regulatory framework for autonomous driving in the country, something that CEO Musk has pushed for in the past.
