Meanwhile, U.S. consumer sentiment rebounded strongly in June to 60.5 from 52.2, beating expectations. One-year inflation expectations dropped to 5.1% from 6.6%.
Despite the risk-off mood, longer-dated Treasury yields rose by 8 basis points—an unusual move suggesting persistent concerns around U.S. fiscal risks. The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TLT#NASDAQ">TLT</a>) sunk 1.6%, its worst session in over three weeks. 
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) slipped 0.6% to $105,000, suffering as risk sentiment fades.

Sen.&nbsp;Elizabeth Warren&nbsp;(D-Mass.) and Sen.&nbsp;Richard Blumenthal&nbsp;(D-Conn.) raised concerns over&nbsp;Meta Platforms Inc.&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) CEO&nbsp;Mark Zuckerberg&#8216;s potential stablecoin revival plans.
What Happened: The Senators voiced their apprehensions to Zuckerberg in a letter on Wednesday, saying that reports of Meta&#8217;s pursuit of a stablecoin project raise &#8220;serious concerns.&#8221; 
The senators are worried that if large tech companies control their own private currencies, it could threaten competition, erode financial privacy, and give control of the U.S. money supply to monopolistic platforms.

The senators have&nbsp;asked Zuckerberg to provide detailed&nbsp;information about Meta&#8217;s stablecoin ambitions, including details about a potential launch, stablecoin firms consulted, and the type of partnerships being considered. They want answers by June 17.
In response to Benzinga&#8217;s inquiry, Meta cited an earlier X post by the company&#8217;s Communications Director, Andy Stone, where he said, &#8220;There is no Meta stablecoin.&#8221;

The card, made of&nbsp;metal and engraved with Bitcoin&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/education/25/01/42789566/happy-birthday-bitcoin-16-fun-facts-about-leading-cryptocurrency">Genesis block</a>, is&nbsp;powered by payments giant&nbsp;American Express Co.&nbsp;(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AXP#NYSE">AXP</a>). The card offers users up to 4% in Bitcoin rewards for every purchase.
However, there are certain conditions. The card would be available only to those having its premium subscription service, Coinbase One, annual memberships of which start at $49.99/year.
Moreover, the size of rewards will be determined by the Coinbase balance, meaning the larger the balance, the more BTC one will get. The company also clarified that it reserves the right to decide which transactions are eligible for rewards.
The Coinbase One Card is set to launch in the fall of 2025.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong Teases Crypto Credit Card Powered By American Express—Bitcoin Cashbacks Offered, But Here's The Catch

BofA Securities analyst Mihir Bhatia said the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/credit-cards" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">U.S. premium credit card</a> market is highly lucrative and one of the most competitive card markets in the world.
The analyst surveyed 2,555 individuals to gain insights into how they view premium credit card brands, what rewards are most valuable and how they use their cards.
About half of the survey respondents held a credit card with an annual fee, but only 13% of total respondents held cards with yearly fees greater than $250, which he considered &#8220;premium credit cards.&#8221;

Bhatia noted that American Express Co (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AXP#NYSE">AXP</a>) is widely viewed as the most premium credit card brand among respondents in his survey, with 62% of respondents (64% in the fiscal 2023 survey) associating the brand with premium cards.
However, the analyst said JP Morgan Chase &amp; Co (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JPM#NYSE">JPM</a>) and Capital One Financial Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/COF#NYSE">COF</a>) have closed this gap, as those issuers were selected 50% and 43% of the time, respectively.
He said this contrasted with his 2023 results.
Bhatia noted that brand perceptions for Capital One (+19%) and Chase (+7%) have improved sharply.
The analyst noted that those with a premium card were already more likely to view these brands as premium.
Overall, the results suggest Amex is still viewed as an aspirational premium brand, but other issuers are gaining ground, he said.
Consumers applied for their premium card primarily to upgrade the rewards they were earning on their prior card (55% of respondents), followed by wanting to change the type of rewards, and trusting the brand, both at 44% of respondents, Bhatia noted.
The analyst noted that card points were the highest-valued credit card rewards category among premium cardholders by a wide margin.
However, among all cardholders who completed the survey, he said cash back was the most valued reward at 70% of respondents, and the closest response was card points at 37%.
Bhatia added a special question to gauge consumer opinions about Discover.
It was noted that 65% of all respondents and a surprising 79% of those with a premium card are open to getting a Discover brand card, the analyst noted. However, he said 44% of all respondents cited concerns about Discover card acceptance. Bhatia noted that this number increased to 73% when looking at those who already have a premium card.
So, while industry data suggests Discover has parity acceptance with Visa Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/V#NYSE">V</a>) or Mastercard Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MA#NYSE">MA</a>), the analyst noted that Capital One will likely need to make significant investments to close the perception gap, particularly to attract premium cardholders.

Amex Still King Of Premium Credit Cards — But Chase, Capital One Are Closing In Fast: Analyst

Analysts at Bernstein say that Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/eth/usd">ETH</a>) is emerging as the foundational layer for real-world financial applications such as <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/03/44456074/tokenization-will-merge-crypto-and-equities-bernstein">stablecoins and tokenization</a> and developments that signal a turning point for public blockchain utility and value.
In their latest note, Bernstein analysts wrote, "Stablecoins and tokenisation driven financial applications are being built on public blockchain/crypto networks such as Ethereum."
They argue that while Bitcoin's (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) narrative remains rooted in store-of-value use cases, Ethereum's strength lies in enabling decentralized financial infrastructure at scale.
The report highlights how this utility is becoming more visible to institutional investors. While <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/best-spot-bitcoin-etfs">Bitcoin ETFs</a> have gathered over $120 billion in assets under management, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/what-is-ethereum-etf">Ethereum ETFs</a>, though smaller in comparison, have started to gain momentum with $815 million in inflows over the past 20 days and total year-to-date net inflows turning positive at $658 million.
Bernstein analysts describe this moment as "the stage where crypto takes a leap from speculative token markets to blockchain-driven financial innovation." 
Ethereum, they argue, is no longer just a decentralized computer in theory, but one powering open financial rails that integrate stablecoins, tokenized assets, and modern fintech use cases.

They point to active development by major players such as Visa (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/V#NYSE">V</a>), MasterCard (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MA#NYSE">MA</a>), and Stripe in stablecoin infrastructure, as well as efforts by Robinhood (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HOOD#NASDAQ">HOOD</a>) and Coinbase (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/COIN#NASDAQ">COIN</a>) to build tokenized equity platforms and stablecoin-based payment systems, all using public crypto rails like Ethereum.
Addressing a common investor refrain that &#8220;blockchain is valuable, but crypto is useless,&#8221; Bernstein counters: "These are not different things. If you believe in stablecoin based payments innovation, why is the Ethereum network that mints the stablecoins and processes stablecoin transactions, not valuable?"
The analysts argue that Ethereum is now reaching an inflection point where both its utility and its native asset's value are being recognized. 
"There is now both utility and value accrual," the note says, suggesting that institutional capital is beginning to acknowledge Ethereum&#8217;s foundational role.
Coinbase's Base network and Robinhood's tokenized asset plans are cited as further evidence that crypto-native infrastructure is becoming the backend for the next wave of financial services.
