It wasn't until he was 25 that the truth started sinking in—that his father wasn't just "doing okay" but was, in fact, one of the wealthiest people in the world.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">No Silver Spoons, No Billionaire Lifestyle</h2>
Growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, Peter and his siblings were kept far away from Wall Street's glitz and excess. At 19, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/12/42635836/warren-buffetts-sons-90k-inheritance-would-be-worth-more-than-400-million-today-but-he-sold-his-berkshire-stock-47-years-ago-to-buy-something-infinitely-more-valuable">Peter received $90,000 in Berkshire Hathaway stock</a> from his grandfather's farm sale—a gift that could have made him a multi-millionaire many times over.
