GlobalFoundries is a top-five contract semiconductor manufacturer globally. It was originally the manufacturing arm of Advanced Micro Devices before it was spun out in 2009. The foundry sells chips into a range of end markets including smartphones, PCs, Internet of Things, data centers, automotive, industrial, and so on, but primarily focuses on more mature process technologies. <h4 class="wp-block-heading">Protection Band And What To Do Now</h4>
It is important for investors to look ahead and not in the rearview mirror.&nbsp; The proprietary protection band from The Arora Report is very popular.&nbsp; The protection band puts all of the data, all of the indicators, all of the news, all of the crosscurrents, all of the models, and all of the analysis in an analytical framework that is easily actionable by investors.
Consider continuing to hold good, very long term, existing positions. Based on individual risk preference, consider a protection band consisting of cash or Treasury bills or short-term tactical trades as well as short to medium term hedges and short term hedges. This is a good way to protect yourself and participate in the upside at the same time.
You can determine your protection bands by adding cash to hedges.&nbsp; The high band of the protection is appropriate for those who are older or conservative. The low band of the protection is appropriate for those who are younger or aggressive.&nbsp; If you do not hedge, the total cash level should be more than stated above but significantly less than cash plus hedges.
A protection band of 0% would be very bullish and would indicate full investment with 0% in cash.&nbsp; A protection band of 100% would be very bearish and would indicate a need for aggressive protection with cash and hedges or aggressive short selling.
It is worth reminding that you cannot take advantage of new upcoming opportunities if you are not holding enough cash.&nbsp; When adjusting hedge levels, consider adjusting partial stop quantities for stock positions (non ETF); consider using wider stops on remaining quantities and also allowing more room for high beta stocks.&nbsp; High beta stocks are the ones that move more than the market.
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Traditional 60/40 Portfolio</h4>
Probability based risk reward adjusted for inflation does not favor long duration strategic bond allocation at this time.
Those who want to stick to traditional 60% allocation to stocks and 40% to bonds may consider focusing on only high quality bonds and bonds of five year duration or less.&nbsp; Those willing to bring sophistication to their investing may consider using bond ETFs as tactical positions and not strategic positions at this time.

I previously shared <a href="https://x.com/mingchikuo/status/1867219468549800205">my prediction that Himax might be a potential supplier for TSMC</a>. My latest supply chain survey indicates that TSMC's COUPE (silicon photonics) development and ecosystem visibility have improved markedly. Furthermore, it's confirmed that Himax is the exclusive supplier of micro-lens arrays for the first and second generations of COUPE FAUs. Below are more updates and details.

Summary &amp; Conclusions:

Thanks to COUPE, Himax is poised for robust expansion over the next few years. I estimate Himax revenue (USD) to reach approximately $1.16B, $1.42B, and $2.4B in 2026–2028, respectively (vs. the consensus of $1.11B for 2026), and EPS around $1.00, $1.60, and $3.40 (vs. the consensus of $0.80 for 2026).

The first COUPE generation is already fully developed and undergoing mass production validation. Second-generation mass production validation should begin in 1H26.

Comcast stock is trading below its 20-day, 50-day and 200-day moving averages, a clear sign that momentum is skewing to the downside. The MACD (moving average convergence/divergence) indicator is also a negative 0.98, reinforcing the bearish outlook.
While the eight-day simple moving average ($36.59) suggests short-term buying pressure, the broader trend remains weak. The stock is hovering at $36.97, far below its 200-day moving average of $39.83, indicating that long-term sentiment remains firmly negative.

The Travelers Companies, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TRV#NYSE">TRV</a>) shares are trading <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/01/b43123185/travelers-reports-exceptional-fourth-quarter-and-full-year-results" rel="noreferrer noopener">higher in the premarket session on Wednesday.</a>
The company reported fourth-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $9.15, beating the street view of $6.65. Quarterly sales of $12.008 billion (+10%) outpaced the analyst consensus estimate of $10.754 billion.
&#8220;We are very pleased to report record core income for the quarter of $2.1 billion driven by strong growth in earned premiums and excellent profitability,&#8221; said Alan Schnitzer, chairman and CEO.
Net written premiums jumped 7% to $10.742 billion in the quarter under review. Core income jumped 30% year over year to $2.126 billion.
The company stated that, due to its strong balance sheet and results, they were able to grow adjusted book value per share by 13% to $139.04, after making significant investments and returning over $2.1 billion of excess capital to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases.

The company repurchased 1.0 million shares during the fourth quarter at an average price of $255.41 per share for a total cost of $252 million.&nbsp;
The company declared a regular quarterly dividend of $1.05 per share. The dividend is payable March 31, to shareholders of record at the close of business on March 10.

On Tuesday, Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ISRG#NASDAQ">ISRG</a>) announced plans to acquire the da Vinci and Ion distribution businesses in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Malta, San Marino, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/01/g43107335/intuitive-announces-plans-to-establish-direct-presence-in-italy-spain-portugal" rel="noreferrer noopener">and associated territories.</a>
The acquisition, subject to regulatory approvals, will expand Intuitive&#8217;s direct presence in these regions, with the transaction expected to close in 2026.
Intuitive has entered into an agreement with its current distributors, ab medica, Abex, and Excelencia Robotica, to purchase their Intuitive product-related business.
Once the deal is finalized, the acquired businesses will be fully integrated into Intuitive&#8217;s European operations, led by Senior Vice President and General Manager Dirk Barten.

CEO Gary Guthart expressed excitement about the opportunity to bring minimally invasive care to more patients across Europe. He highlighted the importance of having a direct presence in these countries to better understand the unique needs of customers.

Buffett says Apple is special because it creates products that people truly enjoy. The iPhone is not just a phone – it's an experience many users see as part of their daily lives. Even though there are other phones with cool features – like better cameras, folding screens or advanced AI – none give the same smooth and simple experience as iPhones.
