Acuity shares fell 2% to $261.05 in after-hours trading.</li>
<li>RH (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RH#NYSE">RH</a>) reported weaker-than-expected fourth-quarter financial results after the market closed on Wednesday. RH reported fourth-quarter revenue of $812.41 million, missing the consensus estimate of $829.56 million, according to Benzinga Pro. The luxury retailer reported fourth-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.58 per share, missing analyst estimates of $1.92 per share. RH shares dipped 26.1% to $184.40 in the after-hours trading session.</li>
<li>Analysts are expecting Conagra Brands Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CAG#NYSE">CAG</a>) to post quarterly earnings at 53 cents per share on revenue of $2.90 billion. As President Donald Trump lights the global economy on fire in his bid to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/04/44621408/market-access-has-a-price-trump-unveils-list-of-tariffs-countries-targeted">reduce America&#8217;s $1.2 trillion annual trade deficit</a>, a few astute observers on X have uncovered the math that went into arriving at the tariffs that other countries charge the United States, which ultimately led to the reciprocal tariffs that the US will now be imposing on them.
What Happened: A post questioned Trump&#8217;s credibility on the subject of tariffs. James Surowiecki, a writer for The Atlantic and Fast Company had a tough time making sense of some of the figures shared by the White House on Wednesday evening, especially those about tariffs imposed by other countries on American exports.

He knew something wasn&#8217;t adding up, since South Korea, a country with which the US has a trade agreement was not charging 50% tariffs on US exports, as reported in the graphic released by the White House. After initially chalking it all up to made-up figures, he soon arrived at the absurd calculations that went into them.

Surowiecki says that the tariff figures were calculated by merely dividing the US&#8217; trade deficit with a particular country by the said country&#8217;s total exports to the U.S. He even went on to illustrate it by giving the example of Indonesia, on which Trump now plans to impose 32% reciprocal tariffs.
He further adds &#8216;I cannot believe they decided to just divide the trade deficit by imports and tell people that&#8217;s the tariff rate,&#8217; and wonders how U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent signed off on something like this. 
Why It Matters: Others are now waking up to these calculations, such as the <a href="https://x.com/Geiger_Capital/status/1907568233239949431">popular X finance influencer</a> Geiger Capital, and the Sri Lankan publication Economynext, which <a href="https://economynext.com/sri-lankas-88-pct-tax-on-us-arrived-at-by-dividing-trade-deficit-213077/">questioned</a> how the U.S. figures were calculated.

Legendary stock picker Warren Buffett has refused to include cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>), in his firm Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BRK#NYSE">BRK</a>) (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BRK#NYSE">BRK</a>) portfolio, but the holding company, interestingly, has exposure to a firm that pitches the apex cryptocurrency as an inflation hedge.
What happened: According to the latest 13F filing, Berkshire Hathaway holds 433,558 shares of financial services company Jefferies Financial Group Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JEF#NYSE">JEF</a>), worth nearly $34 million.
The New York City-headquartered firm operates in investment banking and capital markets, and asset management businesses.
Notably, Jefferies holds a sizeable stake in iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IBIT#NASDAQ">IBIT</a>), the world's largest spot exchange-traded Bitcoin fund. Filings with the SEC revealed that Jefferies owned 1,615,731 shares of IBIT, valued at over $85 million.

The investment likely stemmed from its bullish long-term view about the leading digital asset.
Jefferies deemed Bitcoin as a "critical hedge" against fiat debasement and inflation, <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2023/10/05/bitcoin-is-a-critical-hedge-against-currency-debasement-and-return-of-inflation-jefferies-says.html">according </a>to an October 2023 report by CNBC.
The investment bank said Bitcoin's insurance policy narrative gained traction following the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/23/06/32705921/us-banking-crisis-spurs-756-billion-capital-surge-into-cash-funds-says-bank-of-america">U.S. banking crisis</a> earlier in the year, and it recommended a 10% allocation to the asset for U.S. dollar-based long-term global investors.
This optimism sharply contrasted with Buffett&#8217;s dismissive attitude toward Bitcoin. Vinod Khosla, an early investor in OpenAI and the founder of Khosla Ventures, shared his views on what startup founders should expect from investors, criticizing the &#8220;founder-friendly&#8221; culture in the Silicon Valley.
What Happened: In a conversation on the Minus One podcast posted on Wednesday, Khosla said that while the term &#8220;founder-friendly&#8221; is often used in venture capital circles, it doesn't truly benefit entrepreneurs in the long run.
"I hate the culture — there&#8217;s a number of firms in the valley who push the idea we are founder friendly," he stated in response to a question about what founders should look for in investors. "What [it] really means, they're never going to challenge you. They want to be popular with you as opposed to help you."

Khosla, who has been investing in startups for over 40 years, described his role as a &#8220;venture assistant,&#8221; not a traditional venture capitalist. He argued that successful investors don't just write checks but provide invaluable guidance, especially when a startup is incomplete in certain aspects.&nbsp;
"Great founders, the majority of the time, are incomplete in some dimension," he stated, adding, "Your job as an investor is to help them with that."
He also touched on the importance of &#8220;brutally honest&#8221; feedback, saying that 95% of the feedback founders get from investors is often &#8220;hypocritical politeness&#8221; that feels good but doesn't help their growth.&nbsp;
Founders should strive for a real, well-intended critique of their strategy, something that challenges them to think, he said.&nbsp;

President Donald Trump has reportedly imposed reciprocal tariffs on some of the world&#8217;s most remote and uninhabited locations, along with various global trade partners, on &#8216;Liberation Day.&#8217;
What Happened: The Trump administration declared a 10% reciprocal tariff on the Heard and McDonald Islands, an uninhabited Australian external territory situated approximately 1,000 miles north of Antarctica, <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/antoniopequenoiv/2025/04/02/trump-imposes-tariffs-on-uninhabited-heard-and-mcdonald-islands-remotest-places-on-earth/">reported</a> Forbes.  The Australian government website describes these islands as &#8220;one of the wildest and remotest places on Earth&#8221;.

Gold prices hit a new all-time high Wednesday as investors sought refuge in the safe haven following President Donald Trump&#8217;s sweeping tariffs that sent risk-on markets falling.

With the latest uptick, the yellow metal extended its year-to-date gains to 20%.
The rise also boosted physical gold-backed cryptocurrencies. Tether Gold and PAX Gold rose 1.02% in the last 24 hours and over 20% since 2025 began.

"If $0.16 holds, a rally to $0.57 could follow. If it fails, a drop to $0.06 becomes likely," the analyst projected.
Gold bug and renowned economist Peter Schiff called gold a "true safe haven and store of value," while highlighting the fall of Bitcoin, considered by some as a "digital gold."
