Microsoft has been turning its OpenAI deal into a big business. Earlier this year, much of its Azure OpenAI offering, which provides access to OpenAI's language models, was contingent on a single big spender: TikTok. But I've now seen a recent list of its top customers, and it's clear that Microsoft has managed to diversify the business with a selection of major clients spending more than $1 million per month on Azure OpenAI services.
The software giant has a running list of what it considers its top 10 customers for Azure OpenAI, and I'm told Adobe and Meta both spent more than $1 million on Microsoft's AI services in September alone to make the top 10 customer list. Both Adobe and Meta are primarily using Microsoft's provisioned output for access to OpenAI models, which provides dedicated model processing capacity rather than Microsoft's token-based offerings for text and image generation.
Meta and Adobe's use of Azure OpenAI still falls far behind TikTok owner ByteDance's, though. The Information reported earlier this year that TikTok was <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2024/7/31/24210667/microsoft-tiktok-ai-openai-customer">paying Microsoft almost $20 million</a> per month to access OpenAI's models, making up nearly a quarter of the revenue generated by Azure OpenAI at the time. ByteDance's spending on Azure OpenAI is now less than 15 percent of Microsoft's Azure OpenAI business, thanks in part to a more diverse amount of customer spending on Microsoft's AI services and ByteDance spending less.

Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) is a long-lasting, inflammatory liver disease caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV).
The World Health Organization estimates that 254 million people live with CHB, and an estimated 1.1 million yearly deaths are associated with the disease.

Participants in the trial received tobevibart and elebsiran alone (doublet regimen) or in combination with PEG-IFNα (triplet regimen).
The study demonstrated promising rates of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) loss (seroclearance) in participants with low baseline HBsAg (&lt;1000 IU/mL) in both combination regimens.
The doublet and triplet regimens resulted in HBsAg loss at the end of treatment in 39% (7/18) and 46% (5/11) of participants with baseline HBsAg&lt;1,000 IU/mL, respectively.
The proportion of participants with varying baseline HBsAg levels who achieved HBsAg loss at the end of treatment was 16% (8/51) for the doublet and 22% (6/27) for the triplet regimen.
The doublet regimen resulted in 50% (4/8) of participants achieving HBsAg loss and anti-HBs seroconversion.
All participants with HBsAg loss at the end of treatment who received the triplet regimen achieved anti-HBs seroconversion (100%, 6/6).
Participants with HBsAg seroclearance at the end of treatment who meet eligibility criteria will discontinue treatment. A functional cure assessment will occur 24 weeks after treatment discontinuation.
Mark Eisner, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Vir Biotechnology, said, &#8220;We are encouraged by these results and eagerly anticipate the functional cure data in 2025, as it will be decisive for the next steps of clinical development.&#8221;

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) today announced the issuance of a Request for Information (RFI) to gauge market interest in activities to develop advanced nuclear energy technologies in New York State. Through this RFI, NYSERDA seeks to identify entities that are currently pursuing or interested in a potential role in advanced nuclear energy development. Responses will help inform next steps following the Future Energy Economy Summit held in September at Governor Kathy Hochul's direction. Today's announcement demonstrates the State's continued commitment to remain at the forefront of emerging technologies to support the advancement of renewable energy resources and foster continued economic development.
NYSERDA President and CEO Doreen M. Harris said, "As local, national and international companies pursue nuclear energy for their on-site energy needs and the federal government signals interest in investing in this resource, we recognize that now is the time to position New York to fully engage this new sector that can drive significant economic development. Understanding the status of potential opportunities through this RFI will enable us to begin developing strategic partnerships and initiatives for complementary resources that will ultimately support the increased deployment of renewables as we work toward a zero-emission grid of the future."
Entities encouraged to respond include:

<li>stakeholders who may be considering advanced nuclear solutions, such as users of large electric loads, industrial heat, and hydrogen – both those already active in New York and those considering establishing operations in New York;</li>
<li>supply chain companies that could provide critical components for development of advanced nuclear energy projects in New York;</li>
<li>potential host communities for nuclear reactors or supply chain projects</li>
<li>workforce development and training entities;</li>
<li>nuclear generation project developers;</li>
<li>financing/funding entities; and</li>
<li>research and development entities including laboratories, universities and private entities.</li>
</ul>
Generation project consideration associated with this RFI is restricted to New York Independent System Operator (NYSISO) Control Area Load <a href="https://www.nyiso.com/documents/20142/1397960/nyca_zonemaps.pdf/8c3807e1-5bab-ab44-3c71-2c8e61b5748b">Zones A-F <img src="https://www.nyserda.ny.gov/-/media/Project/Common/General/Rest/new-window.gif" alt="Link opens in new window - close new window to return to this page." /></a> which encompasses the area of New York State north and west of the lower Hudson Valley. Why It's Important: Kudlow began his role as National Economic Council Director in April 2018 and remained in the role until the end of Trump's presidency. While other members of Trump's cabinet and administration left or got fired, Kudlow stayed. 
Reports of Kudlow being considered for a White House role comes as some Trump allies say there is a growing battle between several candidates like Howard Lutnick and Scott Bessent for economic roles in the Trump administration.
The campaigning for the role of Treasury secretary has upset Trump, according to the report, which could mean he goes a different direction in naming his new economic advisor and leadership picks.
Other names being considered for economic positions include Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan and former U.S. trade representative Robert Lighthizer, the WSJ reported. 
The week has been full of several announcements from Trump on who he is planning to nominate for key White House roles once his term begins in January. More announcements are expected between now and then.

TD Cowen Maintains Buy on TJX Companies, Raises Price Target to $130

Grown Rogue International Inc. (CSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GRIN#CSE">GRIN</a>) (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GRUSF#OTC">GRUSF</a>) reported its third quarter 2024 results on Thursday for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2024.
"This was another exciting quarter for Grown Rogue with solid financial metrics showing the continued execution by our team in competitive markets against a backdrop of modest price compression," CEO Obie Strickler said. "We continue to see strong indoor production yields of craft-quality flower, retail buyer and consumer loyalty, and great initial reception and sell-through with our branded pre-rolls, including our newest brand Yeti."
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Q3 2024 Financial Highlights</h3>
The comparison period for 2023 is the three months ended Oct. 31, 2023, due to the fiscal year-end change from Oct. 31 to Dec. 31.

<li>Revenue totaled $7 million, up 7% compared to $6.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2023.</li>
<li>Gross profit amounted to $3.9 million, a decrease from $4.4 million in Q4 2023, primarily due to lower margins in Oregon and pricing pressures.</li>
<li>Adjusted EBITDA was positive at $2.1 million, unchanged from the previous quarter. Its margin was 30%, down 210 basis points from the fourth quarter of 2023.</li>
<li>Operating cash flow was $1.21 million, down 24% from $1.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2023. The decrease was attributed to increased spending on the New Jersey market launch.</li>
<li>Operating expenses increased by 35% to $2.95 million due to higher selling, general and administrative expenses.</li>
<li>The net loss was $667,240, an improvement from the $2.01 million recorded in the same period last year.</li>
<li>Cash and cash equivalents totaled $5.6 million, down from $6.8 million as of Dec. 31, 2023.</li>
<li>Positive cash flow of $5.01 million for the quarter.</li>
<li>Total assets grew to $41.3 million, up from $29.6 million at year-end 2023.</li>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Other Business Highlights</h3>
In New Jersey, Grown Rogue announced competition of the company's first harvest in the state, with product drops expected in Dec. 2024. The company is optimistic about generating significant cash flow from this market.
It also announced the commencement of phase I operations in the Garden State, which includes roughly 8,000 square feet of flowering canopy that will produce 500-600 pounds of whole flower per month with sales anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2024.
In Illinois, phase II construction is progressing, with a target of 1,100 pounds of whole flower production per month once completed in mid-2025.
Subsequent to quarter-end, the company announced the termination of an advisory agreement with Vireo Growth Inc. (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VREOF#OTC">VREOF</a>).
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Outlook</h3>
Grown Rogue said it will focus on its New Jersey and Illinois expansions as primary growth drivers for 2025.
Additionally, Phase II of the New Jersey operation is expected to be completed by mid-2025, with the Illinois project following later in the year.

Grown Rogue's shares traded 2.94% higher at 7 cents per share after the market close on Thursday afternoon.
