The persisting conflict in Ukraine has led to a rise in demand for sanctions screening and compliance services. Industry experts are keeping a close tab on potential additions to sanctions lists, particularly under <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/donald-trump">the Trump administration</a>, according to Reuters. 
The SIX Sanctioned Securities Monitoring Service (SSMS), a branch of the SIX financial services and stock exchanges group, has observed a notable increase in the utilization of its services. The service evaluates <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs">over 10,000 ETFs</a> and has found that 7.7% of them contain securities sanctioned by one or more governments. In addition to this, there has been a 700% growth in the number of sanctioned securities over the past couple of years.
Sara Nordin, a partner at law firm White &amp; Case, thinks that proactivity is required in compliance. &#8220;With sanctions, to some extent, you have to try to predict the future,&#8221; she said, according to Reuters.
Considering Nordin&#8217;s advice, and for investors seeking ETFs with <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/42970112/nvidia-order-delays-and-ai-sanctions-threaten-global-sales-offer-growth-opportunity-for-us-tech-giants">minimal exposure to sanctioned securities</a>, broad-based funds that regularly rebalance based on compliance measures could be ideal. Here are two of them:
Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VTI#NYSE">VTI</a>) – Tracks the CRSP U.S. Total Market Index, reducing exposure to restricted foreign securities. With an expense ratio of 0.03%, it invests about 35% of its assets in the technology sector, including the big tech firms. The entire portfolio is predominantly made up of stocks of U.S.-based companies.
SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) – Tracks the S&amp;P 500 Index, as its name suggests, and has an expense ratio of 0.9%. The ETF is focused on U.S. large-cap stocks, limiting exposure to sanctioned entities. 
The Background
The SSMS indicates that the majority of ETFs holding sanctioned securities are domiciled in China, the U.S., and Ireland, respectively. However, this does not necessarily imply that these ETFs are violating domestic regulations, Reuters reports. 
For instance, the U.S. recently expanded its blacklist of Chinese companies with alleged military ties, leading to the removal of certain telecom firms from global indices. Nonetheless, domestic investors in Hong Kong or China are still permitted to invest in these companies.
Oliver Bodmer, senior product manager at SIX Financial Information, told Reuters, &#8220;Assessing exposure in ETFs is complex, and vigilance is just as paramount for issuers as it is for brokers and other investors.&#8221;
Different regulations across different jurisdictions further complicate this process. Bodmer advises that ETF issuers must remain vigilant about securities sanctioned within their own jurisdiction and those of their target investors. 
Similarly, investors need to ensure compliance by not investing in funds that hold sanctioned securities beyond authorized limits, which differ by jurisdiction and sanctions regime.

Broadcom Powers Solidigm's High-Capacity SSDs, A Key Driver for AI and Data-Intensive Growth

On Monday, Lockheed Martin Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LMT#NYSE">LMT</a>) secured several major defense contracts, solidifying its role as a key player in <a target="_blank" href="https://www.defense.gov/News/Contracts/Contract/Article/4016173/" rel="noreferrer noopener">U.S. military and allied operations</a>.
The company received a $3.37 billion modification to an existing agreement, expanding logistics support for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program.
This initiative encompasses ground maintenance, pilot training, supply chain management, and depot activities for the Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers, and other partners.

Lockheed Martin has also won a $335.7 million contract modification for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program. This deal supports various 2025 activities, including aircraft induction, field and depot site support, and specialized equipment procurement.
The funds come from multiple sources, including Navy and Air Force procurement budgets and contributions from FMS customers and program partners. Work will primarily occur in Fort Worth, Texas, and will likely conclude by the end of 2025.
The company&#8217;s Moorestown, New Jersey division secured a $10.5 million contract to continue engineering and development for the AEGIS Combat System.
The project, focusing on delivering advanced weapon system capabilities for the Navy&#8217;s FFG 62 program, will run until March 2025. Separately, Lockheed Martin&#8217;s Orlando, Florida unit received a $71.6 million contract to provide depot-level support for Apache attack helicopters, with an estimated completion date of December 2025.
Lockheed Martin stock gained 7% year-to-date. Elon Musk&#8217;s <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/12/42525698/as-elon-musk-takes-on-lockheed-martin-made-f-35s-experts-question-feasibility-of-replacing-manned-fighter-jets-with-drones" rel="noreferrer noopener">recent push for drone warfare</a> over traditional manned aircraft has sparked debate among experts regarding its feasibility.
Musk criticized Lockheed Martin&#8217;s F-35 stealth fighter program, advocating for the use of drone swarms, which he showcased in a video, and questioning the continued investment in piloted jets. Musk, a Donald Trump ally, is a co-lead of Trump&#8217;s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Goldman Sachs <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/12/42468190/defense-stocks-face-headwinds-as-trumps-doge-targets-spending-cuts-goldman-sachs-downgrades-general-dynamics-to-sell" rel="noreferrer noopener">maintained a Sell rating</a> on Lockheed Martin, citing concerns about the F-35 program, which DOGE leadership has identified as a potential cost-cutting target.
Analyst Noah Poponak highlighted risks to margins and spending, noting that Lockheed&#8217;s free cash flow is projected to remain flat over the coming years. Poponak also pointed out the stock&#8217;s high valuation, trading at 23 times estimated 2025 earnings, which he considers a steep premium given these challenges.

From record-breaking flows to innovative fund launches, Bank of America detailed $1.6 trillion in ETF inflows this year in a new note. The global ETF market has grown to a staggering $15.1 trillion in assets under management. 
Additionally, ETF launches hit an all-time high of 1,485 in 2024, and institutional ownership continues to surge, cementing ETFs as the cornerstone of modern investment strategies. 
Here's how the ETF ecosystem is evolving — and why it matters.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Record Year for ETF Growth</h3>
The numbers speak for themselves: over the last five years, the global ETF market has grown at a robust 19% annualized rate, amassing more than $15 trillion in assets under management. 
In total, 15,866 ETFs have been created since 1993, with 2024 alone contributing 1,485 of those — a record for both active and U.S.-listed ETFs.
Institutional investors, retail traders and even cash-strapped mutual funds are gravitating toward ETFs for their liquidity, tax efficiency and cost advantages.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Rise of Active ETFs: A Balancing Act</h3>
While ETFs have historically been dominated by passive strategies, active ETFs are making their presence known. Active funds accounted for 18% of total inflows in 2024, signaling a growing appetite for alpha strategies.
Still, passive funds remain the kingpin, representing over 50% of equity fund assets by AUM. 
In fact, 93% of ETFs track some type of index, but the allure of active management is pushing innovation. 
Investors seeking more active strategies in passive funds are also driving mutual fund-to-ETF conversions. According to Bank of America, this trend is likely to accelerate in the coming years as mutual funds struggle to remain relevant.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">SPY vs. VOO: New ETF Champion in the Making?</h3>
The SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) remains the largest and most actively traded ETF since its inception in 1993. But its throne is being challenged.
Vanguard S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VOO#NYSE">VOO</a>) has a 6.5-basis-point lower expense ratio compared to SPY and could potentially surpass it in AUM by 2026.
In 2024, VOO registered more than six times the inflows obtained by SPY.

ETF Market Sets Records In 2024 As Inflows Reach $1.6 Trillion: 7 Funds Leading Charge

The Vanguard S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VOO#NYSE">VOO</a>) has shattered records, crossing $100 billion in annual inflows this year, a historic high for any ETF over the same period. 
Data from ETF.com shows that the fund witnessed $101.07 billion in fresh money from investors, more than the combined inflows of its two closest competitors: iShares Core S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IVV#NYSE">IVV</a>) with $59.2 billion and SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) with just $22.9 billion.&nbsp;
In the multi-trillion-dollar exchange-traded fund industry, this trend is sparking debate over whether SPY, the world's largest ETF, is now on the brink of losing its long-standing crown.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">$VOO Poised To Become The World&#8217;s Largest ETF Next Year </h3>
Despite SPY still holding the title of the world's largest ETF, with $620 billion in assets under management (AUM), the gap between it and VOO — currently at $579 billion — has narrowed to $41 billion.
&#8220;That means that there is a very real possibility that VOO overtakes SPY as the world's largest ETF as soon as next year,&#8221; commented Sumit Roy, senior analyst at ETF.com. 
&#8220;But even if that happens, SPY's slide down the ETF leaderboard might not stop there. IVV is also nipping at its heels, with $565 billion in AUM,&#8221; he added.

A key driver of VOO's success is its rock-bottom expense ratio of 0.03%, less than a third of SPY's 0.0945%. 
These differences have significant implications, especially for institutional investors managing billions.
A retail investor putting $5,000 into VOO at the start of the year would pay only $1.50 in annual expenses, while the same investment in SPY would cost $4.73 – basically an irrelevant difference. 
In sharp contrast, an institutional investor allocating $5 billion to VOO would pay just $1.5 million in fees, compared to $4.73 million with SPY—a staggering $3.23 million difference.

This shift in focus comes as Apple broadens its product lineup to sustain revenue. Its Vision Pro headset, a &#8220;spatial computing&#8221; device priced at $3,499, marks the company&#8217;s latest attempt at diversifying its hardware portfolio, though sales remain modest.

Apple Signals Profit Risks in AI and VR Shift: What It Means for Investors?

Small-cap equities could be the dark horse of the next 10 years after the previous decade saw an outsized return from the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/large-cap">U.S. large-cap sector</a>.
The latest Vanguard market perspective <a href="https://advisors.vanguard.com/insights/article/series/market-perspectives">highlights</a> the U.S. small-cap sector as the leading domestic opportunity, projecting an annualized return between 5% and 7%, with a caveat of the median volatility of 22.6% — the highest among the listed domestic sectors.
The report highlighted the resolution of the disbalances in the labor market as an aftershock of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Our non-accelerating inflation rate of unemployment estimate suggests that the labor market has reached a healthy balance," said Adam Schickling, a Vanguard senior economist, adding that they expect additional rate cuts but hold no expectations for the near-term labor market conditions prompting an accelerated cutting cycle.
Going into 2024, Vanguard called small-cap stocks "attractive in the long term," while Fidelity is even more optimistic, expecting rate cuts to provide an attractive environment. Looking at the year-to-date returns:
The S&amp;P 500 is up 22.9%, while the small-cap-focused Russell 2000 is up around 11.4%.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Small-Cap Mean Reversion</h2>
"Mean reversion is a concept we believe in—it's one of the fundamental principles of long-term investing. But it's crucial to remember that the timeline for mean reversion isn't predictable. It might happen in the next decade as they predict, or it could take longer, even up to a hundred years," Creative Planning&#8216;s Chief Investment Officer James Battmer recent <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QRVUeL2VhA&amp;t=120s">noted</a>.
These predictions are generally not enough of a catalyst for portfolio re-adjustments. 
In the video below, Chief Market Strategist Charlie Bilello listed gains from leaders like Nvidia, Tesla or Netflix, but Battmer argued that continuing the same trajectory is unlikely.

"If they were to replicate the same growth, they'd be larger than the entire U.S. economy, which is a near-impossible scenario," Battmer noted.
Even so, talking about the first decade of this century, he showcased what the "lost decade" for large-cap growth looks like.
"If you had invested a million dollars in a growth-focused portfolio, you'd have lost around $333,000 over that 10-year span," he said, pointing out the importance of owning a broad range of stock and not just the "big winners."

Nvidia Taps India's Growing AI Market, Partnering with Tech Giants and Scaling Data Centers

Indonesia has blocked sales of Apple Inc&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) latest iPhone 16 models as Apple failed to meet local investment requirements, the WSJ reported.
The Ministry of Industry <a target="_blank" href="https://www.wsj.com/tech/apple-iphone-16-sales-banned-in-indonesia-over-investment-issue-d5322615" rel="noreferrer noopener">told</a> the Wall Street Journal PT Apple Indonesia did not fulfill its investment commitment to sell the new iPhone series in the country.

The sales ban applied to iPhone 16 models and other Apple products remain unaffected by the ban.
Apple&#8217;s investment is currently short by 240 billion rupiah of the 1.71 trillion rupiah (approximately $108.9 million) needed for the license, Indonesia&#8217;s Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita told WSJ.
Indonesia&#8217;s policy requires companies to source some goods or services domestically, which can be achieved through investments or local hiring to reduce reliance on imports.
The ban targets iPhone 16s sold within Indonesia, though handsets bought abroad for personal use are permitted if not resold.
Apple&#8217;s <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41551122/apples-q3-smartphone-sales-slip-despite-strong-iphone-16-demand-market-share-dropped-slightly" rel="noreferrer noopener">smartphone sales declined</a> 0.3% in the third quarter in China, despite the overall Chinese smartphone market growing 3.2%, according to IDC.
Apple launched significant promotions for the iPhone 16 in China, providing pre-release discounts on platforms like PDD Holdings&#8217; Pinduoduo and Alibaba&#8217;s Taobao. Leading up to Singles&#8217; Day, Apple applied additional price cuts to boost sales.
Needham analyst Laura Martin projects that iPhone sales will contribute 89%-96% of Apple&#8217;s revenue in 2025.
JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee&#8217;s <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41146507/apples-iphone-16-series-leads-growth-but-high-end-model-preference-declines-analyst" rel="noreferrer noopener">survey revealed that</a> upgraders and switchers showed strong interest in the iPhone 16, especially in key markets like the U.S. and China. However, high-end models are slightly less popular this cycle, particularly in China.
While faster performance and 5G remain top reasons for upgrading, Apple&#8217;s intelligence features ranked lower, possibly due to limited availability. Chatterjee also noted Samsung&#8217;s global dominance outside Apple and Huawei&#8217;s continued strength in China, with a notable portion of Android users in China interested in switching to the iPhone.

iPhone 16 Blocked - Apple Faces Sales Ban in Indonesia Over Local Investment Shortfall: Report

Roblox Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RBLX#NYSE">RBLX</a>) stock plunged on Tuesday after Hindenburg Research issued a short report on the online game platform questioning its metrics <a target="_blank" href="https://hindenburgresearch.com/roblox/" rel="noreferrer noopener">such as user numbers</a>.
The report alleged that Roblox inflated key user metrics, claiming daily active users (DAUs) and engagement hours are overstated by 25-42% and over 100%, respectively.

Hindenburg&#8217;s report accuses Roblox of inflating DAU figures by equating DAUs with unique &#8220;people,&#8221; despite acknowledging in SEC filings that DAUs may include multiple accounts or bots.
Roblox also claimed it couldn&#8217;t identify duplicate accounts, though it tracked and consolidated them internally. Additionally, Roblox inflated engagement hours by including bots and inactive accounts (&#8220;zombies&#8221;), overstating user activity. The company reported key metrics to investors without independent third-party verification, leaving room for manipulation and misrepresentation.
Hindenburg&#8217;s report accused Roblox of prioritizing its growth metrics over child safety by cutting content moderation costs and allowing harmful content to increase on the platform.
Hindenburg claims the company&#8217;s push for higher user engagement led to lax safety measures, exposing children to inappropriate content, such as sexual exploitation, violence, and predatory behavior, all to boost user numbers and satisfy investors.
Hindenburg also highlighted insider stock sales and executive turnover as red flags. Since the company went public in 2021, Roblox insiders, including CEO David Baszucki, have sold $1.7 billion in shares. Meanwhile, three senior executives, including the CFO, have resigned within the last year, raising concerns about internal issues.
Since becoming a public company, Roblox has failed <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/08/40099661/robloxs-q2-earnings-31-topline-growth-increased-user-engagement-guidance-hike" rel="noreferrer noopener">to turn profitable</a>, with losses totaling $1.07 billion in the last twelve months (LTM).
Last week, The Bear Cave&nbsp;released <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41170031/short-seller-alleges-roblox-facilitated-widespread-child-abuse-potentially-played-a-role-in-mass-sho" rel="noreferrer noopener">a bearish report</a> targeting Roblox for the fourth time since 2022. JPMorgan analyst Harlan Sur&nbsp;flagged that the Blackwell GPU platform <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/10/41149666/nvidias-blackwell-gpu-sets-new-ai-benchmark-with-over-100-system-configurations-ana" rel="noreferrer noopener">can support over</a> 100 different system configurations, compared to the 19-20 options available with the prior generation Hopper GPU platform. According to Sur, Nvidia&#8217;s AI and accelerated compute moat will likely help it sustain growth into 2025 and beyond.
Per the rumors, Nvidia may announce the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 simultaneously.

This impressive surge has set the stage for a record-breaking year, with ETF flows on track to shatter the previous record of $900 billion in inflows.
<h1 class="wp-block-heading">VOO, VGT Outshine SPY In Fund Flows</h1>
According to ETF.com <a href="https://www.etf.com/etfanalytics/etf-fund-flows-tool">data</a>, as of the end of Aug.2024, the market saw a robust performance, with a total of $71 billion pouring into ETFs during the month. Leading the charge were heavyweights such as the Vanguard S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VOO#NYSE">VOO</a>) and the Vanguard Information Tech ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VGT#NYSE">VGT</a>), while the SPDR S&amp;P 500 (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) experienced notable outflows.
As investors diversify their portfolios, it's clear that ETFs are becoming the go-to investment vehicle.

S&P 500 ETF Titans Drive $691B In 2024 Inflows: Nasdaq, Bitcoin ETFs Close Behind

Two popular U.S. stock market exchange-traded funds hit<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/09/41029448/s-p-500-hits-all-time-highs-nasdaq-100-tops-20k-ahead-of-key-economic-data-whats-driving-markets"> all-time highs </a>Wednesday as the S&amp;P 500 Index reached its highest level ever.
The Vanguard S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VOO#NYSE">VOO</a>), which tracks the performance of the S&amp;P 500 Index and therefore consists of about 500 large-cap stocks, reached $527.23 just after 10 a.m. ET before cooling off to $524.96 into Wednesday&#8217;s mid-afternoon trading.
The Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund ETF Shares (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VTI#NYSE">VTI</a>), which follows the CRSP US Total Market Index of about stocks, also hit a high point on Wednesday, achieving $283.12 shortly after Wednesday&#8217;s open before declining to $281.85 by mid-afternoon.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">S&amp;P 500</h3>
The S&amp;P 500 hit an all-time high of 5,471.03 in Wednesday&#8217;s early-morning trading. It has since fallen to 5,721.50 by mid-afternoon Wednesday.
Vistra Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VST#NYSE">VST</a>) is the top gainer in the S&amp;P, rising 6.59% to $119.91 into the mid-afternoon. Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HPE#NYSE">HPE</a>) followed, gaining 4.63% to $19.75.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index slipped 0.03% to 18,069.36, while the Nasdaq Composite Index edged up 0.05% to 19,954.31.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.66% to 41,928.02 by Wednesday&#8217;s mid-afternoon.

When it comes to two of the largest U.S. stock market funds, one could stand out now that the Federal Reserve decided <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/economics/macro-economic-events/24/09/40926026/federal-reserve-delivers-bold-0-5-rate-cut-signals-further-easing-ahead">to cut interest rates</a>
Here's a look at key differences between the Vanguard S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VOO#NYSE">VOO</a>) and the Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VTI#NYSE">VTI</a>).
VOO ETF Vs. VTI ETF: The Vanguard S&amp;P 500 ETF <a href="https://investor.vanguard.com/investment-products/etfs/profile/voo">tracks </a>the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/s-p-500-index">S&amp;P 500 Index </a>and holds around 500 stocks. The ETF is heavily weighted among the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/magnificent-seven">Magnificent Seven stocks</a> and large-cap companies.
The Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF <a href="https://investor.vanguard.com/investment-products/etfs/profile/vti">tracks </a>the CRSP U.S. Total Market Index and holds 3,656 stocks at the time of writing.
The key difference is that only the VTI holds stocks outside the S&amp;P 500 Index, which gives the ETF a higher weighting of small-cap and mid-cap stocks.
Rate cuts have been a positive for<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/small-caps"> small-cap stocks </a>in the past as it makes financing more affordable to the companies.

As investors can see, the top 10 holdings are the same across both funds. The difference is the weighting, with the VOO more heavily concentrated among its top 10 holdings and VTI holding smaller weightings due to the larger amount of overall holdings in the fund.
Each of the two Vanguard ETFs has an expense ratio of 0.03%, which is on the lower side for ETFs and is cheaper than the 0.09% expense rate for the&nbsp;SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust&nbsp;(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>), which also tracks the S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust and trades similar to VOO.

Uber has led with its diversified offering, including food delivery, freight, and same-day delivery services, gradually shedding its image as a ride-hailing company.
Uber reported <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/08/40187570/uber-q2-earnings-revenue-and-eps-beat-30m-trips-per-day-ceo-highlights-record-growth-and-more" rel="noreferrer noopener">fiscal second-quarter</a> 2024 topline growth of 16% to $10.70 billion, beating the&nbsp;analyst estimate of $10.57 billion. Revenue from Mobility grew to $6.13 billion, up 25%. Delivery&nbsp;was $3.29 billion, up 8%, and Freight was $1.27 billion.
Uber&#8217;s trips rose 21% to 2.8 billion, or 30 million per day, signaling a recuperation in rides on pandemic recovery.
Conversely, Lyft shared plans to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40705974/uber-rival-lyft-to-lay-off-1-of-employees-sell-assets-to-reduce-costs" rel="noreferrer noopener">lay off 1%</a> of its employees and dispose of assets related to its bike and scooter operations to contain operating costs.
Lyft had 2,945 employees as of December 31, 2023, after letting go of 1072 employees in April 2023.
Lyft reported <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/08/40221512/lyft-q2-earnings-active-riders-increase-10-gross-bookings-surge-17-introduces-price-lock-feature" rel="noreferrer noopener">second-quarter sales</a> growth of 41%, reaching $1.44 billion, beating the analyst consensus of $1.39 billion. Lyft&#8217;s rides grew by 15% year over year to 205 million.
