Needham: Marvell indicated that it estimates its Data Center TAM (total addressable market) at $94 billion in 2028. That&#8217;s up from its previous projection of $75 billion. All four subsegments of the division are expected to contribute to this growth, Bolton said in a note.
Marvell introduced ‘Custom XPU attach', which represents "an increasingly strategic portion of its Data Center TAM," growing at a CAGR (compounded annual growth rate) of 90% from 2023-2028, "significantly outpacing the 47% CAGR of the Custom XPU segment. "We see Custom XPU attach as a particularly rich opportunity for MRVL given its networking and processing background," he further wrote.
JPMorgan: Marvell presented a "compelling and sustainable growth strategy for its AI datacenter networking/ASIC business," Sur said. With new design wins confirmed, the company now has design wins for 18 multi-generational sockets, "which should help drive its ASIC AI silicon market share to 20% by 2028," he added.
"The team is driving strong product innovation and investing in sustaining its leading-edge technology, given its strong R&amp;D scale ($2B+ per year)," the analyst wrote. If Marvell executes well on its datacenter growth strategy and captures 20% of the datacenter TAM opportunity by 2028, there could be "significant upside' to its stock, he further stated.

Marvell Technology Has 'Sustainable Growth Strategy,' Analysts Say

The European Central Bank (ECB) announced that demand for Euro-denominated international bonds and loans increased 40% in 2024, reaching levels not seen since the global financial crisis.
Euro-denominated bonds issued by US firms, known as "Reverse Yankees," surged to nearly $95 billion last year, compared to $60 billion in 2023, the ECB said in a <a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.ecb.europa.eu/press/other-publications/ire/html/index.en.html">recent report</a>. Firms seeking cheaper capital, driven by a growing interest rate disparity across the Atlantic, fueled the increase.
"There is evidence of a link between shifts in invoicing currency patterns in global trade and geopolitical alignments," ECB President Christine Lagarde said in the opening remarks of the report published on June 11. "New challenges to the euro's international role have also emerged, including initiatives promoting the global use of cryptocurrencies."

Despite this resilience in international finance, the euro has lost its longstanding position as the second-largest foreign reserve asset.<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/commodities/25/06/45900930/gold-surpasses-euro-to-become-second-largest-reserve-asset-still-far-behind-dollar-ecb-says" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Gold</a>, which surged in both price and official holdings in 2024, has replaced it. 
Central banks purchased more than 1,000 tons of gold, double the decade average, driving their share of global reserves to 20%, compared to the euro's 16%.
Gold's strong demand over the last three years reflects the growing global mistrust of fiat currencies. Ongoing geopolitical tensions have increased the risks of fiscal deficits and monetary debasement, given the plans such as Readiness 2030, which sees <a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://commission.europa.eu/topics/defence/future-european-defence_en">€800 billion in defense spending</a>.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">ECB Policy Focuses on Cutting Rates, Growth</h2>
In response to Eurozone inflation at <a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/products-euro-indicators/w/2-18062025-ap">just 1.9%</a>, the ECB has halved its benchmark rate over the past year, with its policy rate now standing at 2%. Services inflation has cooled from 4% to 3.2%, while goods inflation remains subdued at 0.6%.
"In our mission we have price stability but we also know that there cannot be price stability without financial stability," Lagarde said in a <a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgdgTa7P4Yk">recent interview</a> for CGTN. "So, we are very focused on monitoring the potential risks, the uncertainty that abounds around the European economy, to anticipate any further consequences and be able to respond. But at this point in time, we have stabilized prices at the level that we were expecting."
Still, with economic growth expectations downgraded and inflation projected to dip further in 2026, the ECB faces the risk of deflationary pressures re-emerging, an echo of the post-2010 euro crisis period.
Further appreciation of the euro could threaten exports and further reduce inflation, potentially prompting additional rate cuts. Meanwhile, the ECB has continued to push for deeper capital market integration and the rollout of a digital euro to bolster the currency's global standing.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Swiss Franc's Safe Haven Strength Raises Policy Dilemma</h2>
The Swiss franc is once again proving to be Europe's haven. As geopolitical risks surge, particularly with the latest conflict between Israel and Iran, the franc's attractiveness has continued to grow. Yet, strengthening the currency comes with challenges.
In May, Switzerland returned to deflation for the first time since 2021, with consumer prices falling 0.1% year-over-year. Declines were widespread, from transport to household goods, pushing inflation back to the lower edge, or below, of the Swiss National Bank's (SNB) 0–2% stability target.

With the franc appreciating, the SNB is under pressure to act. Its next monetary policy meeting on June 19 is expected to deliver another 25 basis point cut, taking the policy rate to zero.
By September, the rate could fall to -0.25% or even -0.75%, reintroducing the controversial era of <a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.euronews.com/business/2025/06/11/swiss-deflation-fuels-talks-of-negative-interest-rates-is-snb-ready">negative interest rates</a>. The SNB employed negative rates from 2015 to 2022.
Meanwhile, short-dated Swiss government bonds have entered the territory of negative yields. The two-year yield touched as low as -0.225% on June 3, and nearly a quarter of the outstanding Swiss government debt yields less than zero.
That development shows that the strength of the Swiss franc isn't a speculative play, but rather a movement by institutional tactical asset allocators who must manage large cash portfolios.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">British Pound Is At A Crossroads</h2>
The British pound has seen mixed fortunes in 2025. Once bolstered by high yields and demand for carry trades, sterling fell 1.7% on June 17 to $1.3427—its worst single-day performance in over a month.
The pound's slide followed a string of weak labor market data, including the <a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-06-10/uk-employment-drops-most-since-2020-and-wage-growth-cools">sharpest drop in employment</a> in five years and slower-than-expected wage growth, according to data for May.
"The dovish repricing of BOE rate-cut expectations takes some of the shine off the pound," Lee Hardman, a senior currency analyst at MUFG, <a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-06-10/weak-uk-jobs-data-sends-down-pound-and-boosts-boe-rate-cut-bets">told</a> Bloomberg. He noted that the strengthening trend is "unlikely on its own to reverse the recent upward trend unless the BOE signals it is more willing to speed up rate cuts."

The Bank of England (BOE), which has already cut rates four times to 4.25%, is facing mounting pressure to ease them further. Markets are fully pricing another rate cut in September and see a 90% chance of an additional move by December.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">BOE's Rate Journey Remains Unclear</h2>
Yet the path ahead is far from clear. Inflation remains sticky, with April's annual CPI at 3.4%, well above the BOE's 2% target, and expected to rise to 3.7% before cooling in 2026. Thus, opinions diverge on the most optimal policy path.
Some, like BOE committee member Alan Taylor, want <a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.ft.com/content/e842038f-e4df-4e99-a5be-8b6f12312a12">deeper and faster cuts</a> amid deteriorating growth. Others, including economists at JP Morgan and Schroders, argue that inflationary risks from elevated wage and services costs warrant a more cautious approach.
Options markets reflect this uncertainty, with no apparent bias in the direction.
Nevertheless, the pound remains one of the highest-yielding G10 currencies and has benefited from a rebound in risk appetite. Unless the BOE signals a more aggressive pivot toward easing, or the inflation picture improves substantially, the pound may struggle to maintain its upward momentum.

Rami Sinno, director of engineering at Amazon Web Services (AWS) Annapurna Labs, cited strong demand for chips that outpaced the supply.
AWS Senior Director Gadi Hutt told CNBC about Amazon&#8217;s initiatives to provide an alternative to Nvidia Corp&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) costly graphics processing units.
Hutt told CNBC. that Anthropic&#8217;s Claude Opus 4 AI model launched on Trainium2 GPUs and Project Rainier. Trainium3 is coming up in 2025, he said.
AWS has <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/12/42309656/amazon-unleashes-powerful-ai-chip-clusters-to-supercharge-anthropics-models-while-challenging-nvidia-and-openais-dominance" rel="noreferrer noopener">committed $8 billion</a> to Anthropic. Also, Amazon chief&nbsp;Andy Jassy <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/tech/25/06/45982631/amazon-ceo-says-generative-ai-will-reduce-total-corporate-workforce" rel="noreferrer noopener">recently highlighted the</a> company&#8217;s extensive leveraging of&nbsp;Generative AI&nbsp;to drive value.
Jassy highlighted Generative AI&#8217;s crucial role within AWS for developers and optimizing internal functions such as fulfillment and customer service. He also pointed to developing AI agents to automate tasks and accelerate innovation.
As Amazon commits huge spending and Capex to AI, it is imperative that it design its own chips based on custom needs rather than relying on NVIDIA.
Jassy stated that this AI-driven transformation might reduce the corporate workforce in the coming years.

Just hours before the Federal Reserve's June policy meeting, President Donald Trump launched a fresh attack on Fed Chair Jerome Powell while sidestepping direct confirmation of a potential U.S. <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/middle-east">military strike on Iran.</a>
What Happened: Speaking outside the White House on Wednesday, Trump renewed his call for sharply lower interest rates. He argues that the U.S. should be "two to two and a half points lower" given what he described as a low-inflation environment.
"We have almost no inflation. We have only success. I&#8217;d like to see interest rates get down now," Trump said, blaming Powell for the high cost of refinancing U.S. debt. 
He claimed that just a one-point reduction would deliver meaningful relief on refinancing federal debt, while a two-point cut would save even more over long-term maturities.
"We'd be saving $700 billion, $800 billion—trillions over time,&#8221; he says.
Trump describes Powell as someone who "refuses to lower the Fed" and "is not a smart person." Trump went further, accusing Powell of personal bias, saying, "I think he hates me.&#8221;

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What About Europe? </h3>
Trump also pointed to Europe's more aggressive monetary easing in 2025.
"Europe had 10 cuts. We had none," he said, adding that some countries with lower rates "can't carry our suitcase."
The remarks come as markets expect the Fed to hold its benchmark rate steady in the 4.25%-4.50% range for the fourth straight meeting, while the updated dot plot may show fewer cuts than traders had previously hoped.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Iran Rejects Trump&#8217;s Demands</h3>
When Trump reiterated his demand for an "unconditional surrender," calling Iran "schoolyard bullies" with long-standing hostile intentions, it did nothing to sway Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
According <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/americas/israel-iran-air-war-enters-sixth-day-trump-calls-irans-unconditional-surrender-2025-06-17/">to</a> Reuters, Khamenei rejected Trump&#8217;s demand for &#8220;unconditional surrender&#8221; on Wednesday.
The rejection comes after Trump was pressed on U.S. military intentions following a Situation Room meeting on Tuesday. Trump refused to confirm any immediate plans to strike Iran's nuclear infrastructure.
&#8220;Nobody knows what I&#8217;m going to do,&#8221; Trump said.
Regarding hopes of a new round of negotiations, Trump stated that &#8220;nothing is too late.&#8221;
He added, cryptically, "Next week is going to be very big. Maybe less than a week."
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Markets Signal De-Escalation For Now</h3>
U.S. markets responded positively to the lack of definitive military escalation. 
The Nasdaq 100 — as tracked by the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>) — rallied by 0.7% to 21,850 at last check Wednesday. The S&amp;P 500 rose 0.6% to 6,025.
The gains came as investors priced in a reduced likelihood of imminent U.S. military action in Iran, and speculated about possible diplomatic openings.
In commodities, gold pulled back, while West Texas Intermediate crude fell to $72 per barrel, down more than 2% from the previous day's high. The U.S. dollar also dipped slightly as global risk sentiment improved.

<li>The chart shows the stock market has consolidated below zone 1 (resistance).</li>

<li>The momo crowd continues to aggressively buy stocks on their conviction that the stock market is about to break above zone 1.</li>
<li>In President Trump's latest gambit, he demanded "unconditional surrender" from Iran.&nbsp; Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei rejected President Trump's demand saying "imposed war" is not acceptable, nor is "peace" and that there will be "serious irreparable consequences" if the U.S. strikes Iran. 
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>From President Trump's posts, it appears that he is moving towards a U.S. strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>In our analysis, if the U.S. strikes Iran and the Iranian regime does not surrender and does not collapse, the Iranian regime could block the Strait of Hormuz, strike U.S. bases, and take the entire region down with them.  Such a scenario increases significant risk for investors.  For this reason, it is important for prudent investors to pay attention to the our Protection Band.</li>
<li>In our analysis, if historical precedence holds true, the momo crowd will initially aggressively buy stocks if the U.S. strikes Fordow with bunker busting bombs to destroy uranium enrichment facilities.</li>
<li>We are not military experts but here is an important piece of information from military experts that the media is not talking about.  Prudent investors should be aware that the most potent American bomb GBU-57 is designed to penetrate 200 feet into the mountain and then explode &#8211; the uranium enrichment facility at Fordow is believed to be 300 feet below the mountain.   Even if a GBU-57 bomb does not reach the facility, it may destroy access to the facility and associated infrastructure such as HVAC.  There is speculation that Iranians designed the facility to survive this scenario. Prudent investors should note that it appears the probability of success is not 100%.  There is increased risk to investors if the U.S. strikes and is not successful.</li>
<li>The Fed will announce its interest rate decision today at 2pm ET, followed by Fed Chair Powell's press conference at 2:30pm ET. 
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>The consensus is the Fed will leave interest rates unchanged.</li>
<li>The momo crowd's historical pattern is to buy stocks before the Fed decision on hopium that the Fed will cut interest rates.&nbsp; Today is shaping up to be no different &#8211; the momo crowd is buying stocks ahead of the Fed</li>
<li>In contrast to the momo crowd, prudent investors are waiting for the dot plot.&nbsp; The dot plot will give clues for future rate cuts.&nbsp; The last dot plot from March implied two rate cuts in 2025.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Initial jobless claims came at 245K vs. 253K consensus.&nbsp; This removes the fear of a quick drop in the employment picture.</li>
</ul>
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Housing Starts</h4>
The data shows that the housing market is weakening.&nbsp; Here are the details:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Housing starts came at 1.256M vs. 1.356M consensus.</li>
<li>Building permits came at 1.393M vs. 1.411M consensus.</li>
</ul>
The foregoing data is in accordance with the conference call from Lennar Corp Class A (LEN) earnings.  Lennar is a major home builder. Upon release of Lennar earnings, the momo crowd aggressively bought LEN stock, running it up to $114.21.  Smart money sold the rally on lower guidance.  LEN stock fell and closed at $104.61. 
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Magnificent Seven Money Flows</h4>
In the early trade, money flows are positive in Apple Inc (AAPL), Meta Platforms Inc (META), NVIDIA Corp (NVDA), and Tesla Inc (TSLA).
In the early trade, money flows are neutral in Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN), Microsoft Corp (MSFT), and Alphabet Inc Class C (GOOG).
In the early trade, money flows are positive in S&amp;P 500 ETF (SPY) and Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1 (QQQ).
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Momo Crowd And Smart Money In Stocks</h4>

A protection band of 0% would be very bullish and would indicate full investment with 0% in cash.&nbsp; A protection band of 100% would be very bearish and would indicate a need for aggressive protection with cash and hedges or aggressive short selling.
It is worth reminding that you cannot take advantage of new upcoming opportunities if you are not holding enough cash.&nbsp; When adjusting hedge levels, consider adjusting partial stop quantities for stock positions (non ETF); consider using wider stops on remaining quantities and also allowing more room for high beta stocks.&nbsp; High beta stocks are the ones that move more than the market.
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Traditional 60/40 Portfolio</h4>
Probability based risk reward adjusted for inflation does not favor long duration strategic bond allocation at this time.
Those who want to stick to traditional 60% allocation to stocks and 40% to bonds may consider focusing on only high quality bonds and bonds of five year duration or less.&nbsp; Those willing to bring sophistication to their investing may consider using bond ETFs as tactical positions and not strategic positions at this time.
