A new administration in four years could possibly dissolve the crypto reserve, so what are the guarantees?
On the other hand, Gold has maintained its status as the cornerstone of global reserves due to its stability, limited supply, and intrinsic value. But the shiny, yellow metal does have significant drawbacks when used as a reserve asset, including limited growth potential, lack of income generation, and vulnerability to theft among other concerns.
Senator Cynthia Lummis has proposed legislation aimed at leveraging gold certificates stored in the Federal Reserve&#8217;s 12 banks to finance future bitcoin purchases. So, is selling gold to buy Bitcoin a good idea?

John Alexander Sinclair sees Bitcoin as a stronger reserve asset. While acknowledging Gold&#8217;s historical role as a store of value, Dr. Sinclair cites its physical limitations—transport, storage, and divisibility—that contrast sharply with Bitcoin's advantages in a digital world.
"Bitcoin is decentralized, portable, and censorship-resistant, making it an ideal hedge against financial instability and government intervention. Unlike gold, Bitcoin can be moved globally in seconds, providing a level of liquidity unmatched by any other asset," argues&nbsp;Sinclair.&nbsp;
Julia Khandoshko perceives Bitcoin as a high-potential but dependent asset. "It is a relatively new asset class that has shown remarkable growth and volatility. Bitcoin's decentralization and fixed supply make it an attractive option for those looking to escape traditional monetary policies. But Bitcoin's value is deeply intertwined with technological trends, regulatory decisions, and macroeconomic factors such as interest rate policies. Its price swings are often dictated by investor sentiment, regulatory developments, and broader economic factors."&nbsp;
Sinclair affirms that volatility concerns with bitcoin are valid, but he also points out that Bitcoin has survived multiple bear markets and consistently rebounded stronger. "Institutional adoption continues to grow, with major financial firms integrating Bitcoin into their portfolios. The emergence of spot Bitcoin ETFs has further legitimized its status as a mainstream asset."
Now, the introduction of crypto reserves further solidifies Bitcoin's position and credibility.&nbsp;
Kadan Stadelmann likes the idea of a bitcoin reserve, just not in isolation though. "The United States stockpiles strategic assets like gold, which bolster financial stability. The petroleum reserves safeguard against economic shocks. A Strategic Bitcoin Reserve is the same idea, but in the digital realm. It could act as a financial hedge. Like the gold reserve, it could help support the U.S. Dollar."
And, Stadelmann is against selling gold to accumulate Bitcoin. "It's not a sound strategy. Substituting Bitcoin for gold at the nation-state level is a very risky prospect. Bitcoin is digital gold. Gold is physical gold. Each serves its own purpose. The Bitcoin Reserve should not replace the U.S.' gold stockpile. Instead, it should diversify the U.S.' balance sheet alongside gold."
Julia Khandoshko agrees with Stadelmann's viewpoint. "Investors need to understand that buying Bitcoin is not just acquiring a digital commodity; it's an investment in a system that is influenced by multiple external forces, including institutional adoption, regulatory stances, and market speculation. On the other hand, gold is a timeless and independent asset. Its independence from financial systems makes it an unparalleled hedge against inflation and economic crises. In contrast to gold's stability, Bitcoin's performance is more akin to that of a high-growth technology stock."
Khandoshko leans towards gold. "Unlike fiat currencies or other financial instruments, gold does not rely on external policies, government regulations, or market sentiment. It is simply gold—an asset that does not require investors to track political developments, interest rate decisions, or macroeconomic policies."
But Sinclair is quick to cite Bitcoin's added advantage of transparency. "Every transaction is verifiable on the blockchain, reducing risks associated with gold reserves, which can be manipulated or rehypothecated. Moreover, Bitcoin's scarcity—capped at 21 million coins—mirrors gold's limited supply."
How does Khandoshko view Bitcoin as a reserve asset?
She thinks that Bitcoin's potential as a reserve asset depends on how investors perceive its role in the financial ecosystem. "While some argue that it represents the future of digital wealth storage, others see it as a speculative asset influenced by unpredictable external factors. Gold, on the other hand, continues to be a universal standard of value that requires no external validation."
So, does she consider gold a better reserve asset compared to Bitcoin?
Khandoshko responds in the affirmative, "While Bitcoin may offer impressive growth opportunities, gold remains a steadfast store of value that does not rely on economic policies or market trends. For those seeking a truly independent asset, gold still holds the upper hand in 2025."
To Sinclair, Bitcoin remains the most compelling choice, as nations and corporations look for a digital alternative to traditional reserves.
And Stadelmann believes that "From a geopolitical perspective, the US should look to dominate the sound money space in both the physical and digital realms by maintaining its gold reserves while adding a Bitcoin Reserve."

A 23-year-old named John called into the "EntreLeadership" podcast back in November, hoping for some career guidance. Instead, he got a brutal reality check. The video, titled "<a href="https://youtu.be/YyhorJOB_qg?si=VZL8AuCcCdcXFRsN">Dave Ramsey Calls Out This Entitled 23-Year-Old</a>," captured a conversation where Ramsey didn't hold back, telling John exactly why his situation wasn't as unfair as he thought.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Not a Side Hustle—It's Dad's Business</h2>
John had been working at his father's business for a few years, pulling in a salary of $65,000 with annual bonuses that brought his earnings up to around $115,000. Despite that, he felt stuck. He was doing the work of two or three people, had no control over the company's decisions, and was convinced he could make even more if he struck out on his own. On top of that, he and his wife had started a business in the marine industry, bringing in about $40,000 in revenue this year. But there was one glaring issue—he was using his father's CNC machine to do it.

"If your dad owns the equipment, the business, and the revenue, then it's not a side hustle. You expanded his business. This is part of running the business. It has nothing to do with a side hustle."
John admitted the LLC was in his father's name, but he still insisted that he and his wife were running it. Ramsey wasn't buying it. The reality was simple—John didn't own anything. His father had built the foundation, provided the tools, and <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/12/42726864/dave-ramsey-thinks-social-security-is-a-mathematical-disaster-but-still-says-it-makes-more-sense-to-take-it-at-62-almost-every-time">ultimately controlled the money</a>.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Planning to Compete Against His Own Father</h2>
Then came John's main gripe—his regular job. He believed he could make more money if he went independent, even claiming that in one day, he could earn enough to cover his family's monthly expenses. But there was a problem—his plan involved competing directly with his father's business.

John asked if it would be ethical to start his own company in the same field, and Ramsey didn't hesitate. "No," he shot back. "The reason is, you think you're only being paid for installing. What you're forgetting is, part of what your company's being paid for is your father's name, reputation, and reliability that you had nothing to do with creating."
John tried to argue that two of their biggest clients had come to him first, but Ramsey wasn't having it. "You were running around in short pants while he was doing that," he said bluntly. John might have built relationships, but those clients found the business because of his father's and grandfather's reputation. "You're standing on the shoulders of giants, and you don't know it."
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Reality Check</h2>
Then came the biggest gut punch. Ramsey told John exactly what his problem was: "You think you're all that more than you are, and you're an installer right now." The reality was, John wasn't the one who had built the business—he was simply benefiting from generations of hard work. "Give yourself a little time, hun. Stay in the oven and cook up a little more."

Ramsey didn't tell John to abandon his ambitions, but he made it clear—he wasn't ready to go out on his own yet. Instead of rushing to break away, he should be asking his father to teach him the deeper aspects of running a business: hiring, operations, and long-term strategy.
"I think there's about 30% of this whole thing that you think you're doing, that you're not doing," Ramsey told him.
It wasn't the answer John wanted, but it was the one he needed. Jumping ship too early could be a lot harder than he and his wife imagined.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A Salary Most 23-Year-Olds Would Envy</h2>
According to data from <a href="https://dqydj.com/average-median-top-salary-by-age-percentiles/">DQYDJ</a>, the average annual salary for a 23-year-old in the U.S. is $36,977, while <a href="https://www.capitalone.com/learn-grow/money-management/what-is-the-average-salary-in-the-us-by-age/">Capital One</a> reports that the median income for those aged 20-24 is $39,104. In comparison, John is making well over $100,000—<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/are-you-rich">more than three times the average</a> for his age group.
While John's frustration about wanting to branch out and take control of his career is understandable—especially with an entrepreneurial mindset—it's hard to ignore just how enviable his financial position already is. Ramsey made it clear that John's perspective wasn't just ambitious—it was entitled.

The multi-antigen malaria vaccine (designated BNT165e) is a combination of three distinct RNAs, BNT165c and BNT165d (composed of BNT165d1 and BNT165d2).

The company reported second-quarter GAAP earnings per share of $28.29,&nbsp;missing the street view of $29.39 and sales of $3.952 billion (+2.4% year over year) missed the analyst <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/03/44107516/autozone-q2-earnings-miss-estimates-revenues-grow-24" rel="noreferrer noopener">consensus estimate of $3.981 billion</a>.

The analyst says that the International growth, with ~100 new stores, remains a bright spot, despite near-term foreign exchange headwinds.

Guggenheim analyst Steven Forbes retained a Buy rating and raised the price forecast from&nbsp;$3,750&nbsp;to&nbsp;$3,850.

MyoKardia paid Fulcrum $10.0 million upfront and $2.5 million in prepaid research funding. It also agreed to reimburse Fulcrum for the costs of research activities not covered by the prepaid research funding up to a maximum of the total research funding.
Upon the achievement of specified milestones, Fulcrum would have been entitled to preclinical milestone payments, development milestone payments and sales-based milestone payments of up to $298.5 million in the aggregate per target for certain identified targets, and of up to $150.0 million in the aggregate per target for certain other identified targets.
Fulcrum achieved a $2.5 million specified preclinical milestone. MyoKardia also agreed to pay Fulcrum tiered royalties ranging from a mid-single-digit percentage to a low double-digit percentage.

Vladimir Tenev, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/robinhood-review">co-founder and CEO</a> of Robinhood (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/HOOD#NASDAQ">HOOD</a>), on Wednesday affirmed that cryptocurrency infrastructure, or "crypto rails," will serve as the foundation for stocks and other traditional assets.
What Happened: In a fireside chat, Tenev emphasized the potential of blockchain technology to revolutionize trading, citing its 24/7 availability and cost efficiencies as key advantages for integrating stocks onto decentralized platforms.
This vision comes as Robinhood, known for its commission-free trading, expands its offerings amid growing regulatory and technological changes in the U.S. financial sector.
Tenev's <a href="https://x.com/TheOneandOmsy/status/1897119276081012788">comments</a> highlight crypto's role in bridging speculative digital assets like Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) and meme coins with real-world financial products.
"There's no reason why you should be able to invest in a meme coin freely as much as you want, but SpaceX and OpenAI are too risky," he said, highlighting the need to apply crypto's infrastructure to more stable, productive assets. 
He noted that blockchain's inherent 24/7 operation, enabled by decentralized finance protocols, could simplify 24/7 stock trading—a feature Robinhood already offers for over 1,000 stocks through its platform.
"Crypto by its nature is 24/7. It's running on blockchain technology that doesn't close on weekends," Tenev explained, pointing to the engineering challenges of stitching together market centers for seamless, noncustodial trading experiences.
The CEO acknowledged regulatory hurdles in the U.S., where crypto has faced restrictions that limit its connection to traditional assets.
"It has been a little bit of an unfair criticism of the crypto industry because the problem is we have not been allowed in the U.S. up until now to connect crypto to real-world productive assets because that's where the security laws have come in," he stated.

His vision extends beyond crypto's speculative phase, advocating for its underlying infrastructure to underpin securities, commodities, and other real-world assets. 
"I think we'll have to fix that. And I think there's huge advantages in crypto technology being the underlying infrastructure behind all types of assets, securities, commodities, other real-world assets," he said, positioning Robinhood as a potential leader in this transformation.

However, risks continue to arise from macro volatility, policy uncertainties, and other idiosyncratic and external variables.
Intuit stock has underperformed to such an extent that it trades below where it was ~3.5 years ago when the term "transitory inflation" was retired in November 2021.
It underperformed versus the S&amp;P 500 by ~3,700 bps (-14% versus +23%) and underperformed versus mega-cap software by an even more considerable margin (-14% versus +30%). This occurred despite Intuit being a widely-held consensus long, with 83% of ratings being buy-equivalent in November 2021.
Some speedbumps were encountered, including a Credit Karma growth reset, a perceived loss of TurboTax market share in recent Tax seasons, and a reduction in long-term growth target models for the Credit Karma and Tax businesses.
However, the company has innovated and executed quite well along many other dimensions, and most of the stock's underperformance has stemmed from a valuation reset, he noted.
The updated price target reflects a shift in peer group multiples and other considerations. The multiple is above the comp group of Scaled Software Vendors with ~10%+ calendar 2026E growth and/or ~20%+ uFCF margin (ORCL, ADBE, CRM, SNPS, ADSK, VEEV, CSPG, and BOX), which trade at ~2.3x on average.
Murphy noted that Intuit warranted a premium to account for the company's relatively less competitive core markets, superior stickiness, and higher perceived value-versus price-paid of the core QuickBooks franchise, leading to a higher pricing envelope and lower volatility of the annual growth profile.
Murphy projected third-quarter revenue of $7.51 billion and adjusted EPS of $10.92.
