On Thursday, the FDA approved Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc.&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IONS#NASDAQ">IONS</a>) Tryngolza (olezarsen) as an adjunct to diet to reduce triglycerides in adults with familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS), a rare, genetic form of severe hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG) that can <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/12/n42607141/tryngolza-olezarsen-approved-in-u-s-as-first-ever-treatment-for-adults-living-with-familial-chylom" rel="noreferrer noopener">lead to acute pancreatitis (AP)</a>.
SHTG is&nbsp;a condition where the level of triglycerides (type of fat) in the blood is more than three times the normal level.&nbsp;
Tryngolza is the first-ever&nbsp;FDA-approved treatment that significantly and substantially reduces&nbsp;triglyceride levels in adults with FCS and provides a clinically meaningful reduction in AP events when used with an appropriate diet (≤20 grams of fat per day).
Tryngolza is self-administered via an auto-injector once-monthly.
The FDA approval was based on Phase 3 Balance trial data in adult patients.
In the Balance study, Tryngolza 80 mg demonstrated a statistically significant placebo-adjusted mean reduction in triglyceride levels of 42.5% from baseline to six months (p=0.0084).&nbsp;
Reductions from baseline to 12 months were further improved, with Tryngolza achieving a placebo-adjusted 57% mean triglyceride reduction.&nbsp;
Tryngolza also demonstrated a substantial, clinically meaningful reduction in AP events over 12 months; one patient (5%) experienced one episode of AP in the Tryngolza group compared with seven patients (30%) who experienced 11 total episodes of AP in the placebo group.&nbsp;
Tryngolza will be available in the U.S. before year end.
Olezarsen is currently being evaluated in three Phase 3 clinical trials – CORE, CORE2, and ESSENCE – for SHTG. Olezarsen has not been reviewed or approved for SHTG.
In November, Ionis Pharmaceuticals announced the pivotal Phase 3 study design following alignment with the FDA on ION582 for Angelman syndrome (AS). The trial is expected to start in <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/11/n41769886/ionis-announces-pivotal-phase-3-trial-design-for-ion582-in-angelman-syndrome" rel="noreferrer noopener">the first half of 2025</a>.
AS typically presents in infancy and is characterized by profound intellectual disability, impaired verbal abilities, and severe motor impairment.
Price Action: At last check on Friday, IONS stock was up 3.79% at $36.94 during the premarket session.

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3, and 2020-2025 Model Y vehicles. The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light may not remain illuminated between drive cycles, failing to warn the driver of low tire pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
Remedy
Tesla released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 15, 2025. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-24-00-018.

Tan <a target="_blank" href="https://www.ft.com/content/5b4160b7-6920-4bf2-a1a8-f1404b513d8f" rel="noreferrer noopener">told</a> FT that he expected the demand to continue for at least ten years, citing their enormous return potential.
Tan stressed to the FT that clients were intensely ramping up AI infrastructure investment plans spanning three to five years.
He does not expect the phenomenon to lose steam until his clients run out of finances.
Last week, Tan told investors Broadcom <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com//node/42488220" rel="noreferrer noopener">could generate</a> tens of billions of dollars in additional annual revenue from AI chips by 2027.
Tan&#8217;s experience and dealmaking prowess fuelled speculation of rescuing struggling chipmaker Intel Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/INTC#NASDAQ">INTC</a>). However, Tan claimed no hostile offers since 2018, when it was tracking Qualcomm Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QCOM#NASDAQ">QCOM</a>), which succumbed to regulatory opposition.
Tan backed his thesis by citing investments by OpenAI and Elon Musk&#8217;s xAI in data centers in 2024.
Tan told the FT that its customers will build clusters of up to 1 million AI chips by 2027. However, Tan said that even 1 million chips may not suffice the AI ambitions of OpenAI and Anthropic.
Broadcom&#8217;s stock price rallied 24% in a single day last Friday after its AI revenues had surged by 220% in fiscal 2024. The chipmaker added over $200 billion to its market cap, breaching the $1 trillion milestone for the first time.

Shineco&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/sisi-stock-quote/">SISI</a>) stock is falling hard on Friday after the agricultural produce company announced the <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/shineco-announces-pricing-2-million-120000343.html">pricing of a public offering</a> for its shares.



This public offering has Shineco selling 1,869,160 shares of SISI stock for $1.07 each. The offering also includes a 45-day option for underwriters to acquire another 280,374 shares at the public offering price.



Shineco is expecting $2 million in gross proceeds from this public offering. The sole book-running manager for the offering is EF Hutton LLC.

ASP Isotopes&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/aspi-stock-quote/">ASPI</a>) stock is down on Friday after the development stage advanced materials company <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/asp-isotopes-announces-proposed-public-200100923.html">announced a proposed public offering</a> for its shares.



The company hasn&rsquo;t revealed the finer details of this offering just yet. That means we don&rsquo;t know how many shares it will include or what they will be priced at. We also don&rsquo;t know how much it expects to raise from the offering.



What he do know is that ASP Isotopes intends to offer an additional 15% of shares in the offering to underwriters. This will give sole bookrunner Canaccord Genuity 30 days after the offering to acquire ASPI shares at the offering price.



<h2>What This Means for ASPI Stock</h2>



A public offering will increase the total number of ASPI shares on the public market. Doing this will also dilute the stakes of investors in the company. This is one of the reasons why the stock is falling on Friday.
