Restaurant Brands International Inc. Consolidated comparable sales increased 0.1%, and net restaurants grew 3.3% versus the prior year. Consolidated system-wide sales increased 2.8%.
Comparable sales for Tim Hortons&nbsp;fell&nbsp;0.1%, Burger King decreased&nbsp;1.3%, and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen slumped&nbsp;4%. Revenue for Burger King rose 1.8%, and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen increased 9%, while that of Tim Hortons fell 3.7% year over year.
Adjusted EPS of 75 cents <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">missed the consensus</a> estimate of 78 cents, but grew compared to 73 cents last year.
General and administrative expenses increased 10.4%. The operating income for the quarter declined 20% to $435 million.

Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was $642 million, up from $627 million in the prior year.
Restaurant Brands held $899 million in cash and equivalents as of March-end. Net cash provided by operating activities for the quarter totaled $118 million.
Restaurant Brands' Board of Directors has declared a dividend of $0.62 per common share, payable on July&nbsp;8, 2025, to shareholders and unitholders of record at the close of business on June&nbsp;24, 2025.
"We are making solid progress executing the fundamentals of our business, despite a slower start to the year. We have clear growth plans across each of our brands and strong alignment with our franchisees," said CEO&nbsp;Josh Kobza.
"We're seeing encouraging momentum in Q2 and combined with responsible cost management, are on track to deliver stronger results through the balance of the year and achieve at least 8 percent organic adjusted operating income growth in 2025."
Outlook: Restaurant Brands&nbsp;sees FY25 capital expenditures of $400 million &#8211; $450 million.
For the long term, from 2024 to 2028, Restaurant Brands&nbsp;expects a comparable sales growth of 3% and an organic adjusted operating income growth of 8%.
Price Action: QSR shares traded lower by 0.29% at $67.70 at the last check on Thursday.

What Else: The company raised full-year revenue guidance to between $3.89 billion and $3.90 billion, above analyst estimates of $3.75 billion. The company forecasts 2025 sales of $10.85 billion-$11.15 billion compared to the consensus of $11.05 billion.
The company's outlook for 2025 excludes any impact of the previously announced Rotech acquisition, the Products &amp; Healthcare Services segment, or tariffs.
The healthcare logistics&nbsp;company expects adjusted EBITDA for 2025 to be $560 million to $590 million.

Earnings Estimates: Analysts predict DraftKings will report first-quarter revenue of $1.44 billion, which would be a company record and up from $1.18 billion in last year's first quarter, according to data <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pro/register?utm_adType=bzprocontent&amp;utm_campaign=14daytrial&amp;utm_ad=0508">from Benzinga Pro</a>.
The company has missed analyst estimates for revenue in three straight quarters, while beating estimates in six of the last 10 quarters overall.
Analysts predict DraftKings will report first-quarter earnings per share of 22 cents, up from 3 cents per share in last year's first quarter. The company has beaten analyst estimates for earnings per share in more than 10 straight quarters.

What Analysts Are Saying: A lower hold during March Madness and pressure on 2025 guidance are items to watch in the earnings report, Bank of America analyst Shaun C. Kelley said in a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44938762/draftkings-may-trim-2025-forecast-amid-texas-jackpocket-shutdown-says-analyst">recent investor note.</a>
The analyst reiterated a Buy rating with a price target of $60 ahead of earnings.
Kelley reduced first-quarter EBITDA projections from $149 million to $120 million. The analyst also sees full-year EBITDA coming in lower with a ban on Texas Jackpocket. Another risk is new taxes in states like New Jersey, Maryland and North Carolina that could add to EBITDA concerns.
While the analyst sees strength for the company from the Super Bowl in the quarter, these risks and the rise of prediction markets create uncertainty around guidance.
Truist Securities analyst Barry Jonas highlighted DraftKings ranking number one in the app store for sports during the Super Bowl in a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/sports-betting/25/02/43748897/draftkings-lost-some-games-but-won-the-quarter-analyst">previous investor note. </a>The company had $436 million in betting handle on the Super Bowl, setting a one-day record.
Jonas maintained a Buy rating with a price target of $50 ahead of the earnings report.

During the earnings call, the company may also be asked about its growing cash holdings and if any acquisition activity is on the table as the sports betting industry continues to see consolidation and Bet365 is exploring options.
After <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/sports-betting/25/02/43714236/draftkings-q4-earnings-revenue-miss-eps-beat-monthly-uniques-up-36-yoy-raised-guidance-and-more">the fourth quarter</a>, DraftKings raised its full-year 2025 revenue guidance to a range of $6.3 billion to $6.6 billion, up from a prior range of $6.2 billion to $6.6 billion, representing approximately 35% year-over-year growth.
Whether the company reiterates this guidance or adjusts will likely decide whether the stock moves up or down after the report.

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CLF#NYSE">CLF</a>) stock is trading lower Thursday after the company reported first-quarter earnings on Wednesday after <a href="https://www.benzinga.com//node/45270996">the market closed.</a>
The Details: The company reported a loss of 92 cents per share, missing the consensus estimate of a 75 cent-loss. In addition, Cliffs reported sales of $4.63 billion, missing the consensus estimate of $4.64 billion.
During the quarter, Cliffs made the decision to fully or partially idle six facilities to optimize its footprint and reposition away from loss-making operations. Some of the now idle facilities include the Steelton, Pennsylvania rail facility and the Riverdale, Illinois compact strip mill facility.
These actions are anticipated to produce about $300 million in savings annually for the company.
Furthermore, the company will no longer be deploying capital toward the development of a transformer production plant in Weirton, West Virginia.
Lourenco Goncalves, Cliffs&#8217; Chairman, President and CEO, said: &#8220;Our&nbsp;first-quarter&nbsp;results were negatively impacted by underperforming non-core assets and the lagging effect of lower index prices in late 2024 and early 2025.
