Shares of SoFi are trading lower on Wednesday. Sometimes, there is good news on a company, and yet the stock heads South. ‘Buy on the rumor, sell on the news' is an old expression that refers to situations like this. This is why we&#8217;ve made it our Stock of the Day.
Some traders and investors tend to overanalyze things. They believe there is a direct correlation between a company's fundamentals and its trading action.
This is wrong.

The stock market moves in response to changes in supply and demand. If there is more demand from buyers than there is supply from sellers, buyers will be forced to outbid each other to acquire shares. This will force the market into an uptrend.
If there is more supply from sellers than demand from buyers, sellers will be forced to undercut each other to have their orders executed. This will cause the stock to enter a downtrend.
The reason SoFi is trading lower despite blowout earnings is that the market ran out of demand.
It was widely anticipated that the earnings would be strong. People perceived this as a potential catalyst that could push the price higher. As a result, those who wanted to buy shares did so before the earnings were released.
So, when the news came out, the market was effectively out of buyers. And a market with no buyers can only go down.

Stock Of The Day: Why Is SoFi Trading Lower?

MARA Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MARA#NASDAQ">MARA</a>) shares are <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/movers" rel="noreferrer noopener">trading higher on Wednesday.</a>
The crypto-firm&nbsp;reported Tuesday second-quarter revenue of $238.5 million, beating<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/earnings/25/07/46706807/mara-holdings-stock-moves-higher-on-better-than-expected-q2-earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener"> analyst estimates of $218.45 million</a>.
The Bitcoin mining company reported second-quarter earnings of $1.84 per share, beating analyst estimates of 69 cents per share.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Analyst Reaction To Earnings</h2>
H.C. Wainwright: Analyst Kevin Dede reiterated the Buy rating, with a price forecast of $28.
According to Dede, Bitcoin's lower pricing on March 31 versus December 31 resulted in a non-cash fair value adjustment of roughly $510 million, which severely impacted MARA's earnings per share.
Dede emphasizes that, philosophically, MARA has not altered its core strategy.
The analyst notes that recent commentary reaffirms the company's continued focus on power conversion technology—whether through bitcoin mining or heat generation—with a consistent push to drive energy costs toward zero.
This is a theme the analyst has reiterated many times in prior coverage.
The analyst notes that revisiting this strategy is useful for contrasting MARA's approach with that of peers who are slowly or rapidly shifting their mining focus toward high-performance computing (HPC).
Dede also highlights progress on MARA's two-phase immersion cooling (2PIC) initiative, which is now in a 30MW pilot phase aimed at refining the design. The analyst notes that a cold-plate variant of the system is under development.
While this version is still based on two-phase cooling, it follows the cold-plate format, which Dede sees as aligning with what's emerging as the industry standard for HPC systems.
The analyst adds that MARA's shift in this direction may involve collaborations with large compute OEMs, potentially including firms like Dell Technologies Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DELL#NYSE">DELL</a>) or NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>).
Dede indicates that the FY25 sales estimate for MARA has been revised downward to $822.5 million, a reduction from the earlier projection of $895.9 million.
Rosenblatt: Analyst Chris Brendler reiterated the Buy rating with a price forecast of $20.
Brendler notes that while some of the recent upside from bitcoin was partially offset by increased hash costs, mining expenses are expected to improve in the second half of FY25.
The analyst points to the addition of new low-cost sites and better fleet efficiency as key drivers behind this anticipated cost reduction.
Brendler adds that the company's ongoing focus on global expansion is likely to contribute to further margin gains.
In his view, these efforts place MARA in a strong position to maintain its leadership in the sector, particularly as several competitors begin shifting their attention toward high-performance computing (HPC).

Typically, when a publicly traded enterprise loses 14% of equity value, it's a strong sign to avoid that name. However, an exception could be arguably made for cybersecurity giant Check Point Software Technologies Ltd (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CHKP#NASDAQ">CHKP</a>). Despite delivering an <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/CHKP/earnings">earnings beat for the second quarter</a>, Check Point suffered an exodus of investors as they read between the lines. Still, it's very possible that the selloff in CHKP stock could be overdone.
In terms of headline numbers, Check Point posted earnings per share of $2.37. This figure landed at the midpoint of management's guidance but was 6.28% above analysts' estimated EPS of $2.36. In the year-ago quarter, the company posted earnings of $2.17 per share. On the top line, the cybersecurity giant rang up $665.2 million, above the midpoint guidance of $662 million. Analysts anticipated sales of $661.75 million.
However, investors had a dim view of the finer details. According to Check Point's second-quarter <a href="https://www.checkpoint.com/downloads/investor/CHKP-Q2-25-Preso.pdf?v=1.0">presentation</a>, billings landed at $642 million, representing only 4% growth from the year-ago period's tally of $620 million. In contrast, total revenues grew 6%. Since billings represent a leading indicator of future revenue, the market likely viewed this metric as a major red flag.
Another problem likely centered on the business forecast. Management decided to make no change regarding its fiscal year 2025 expectations despite the second-quarter earnings beat. Investors may have interpreted this silence as a lack of confidence regarding future expectations.
Still, not all hope may be lost. With the post-earnings implosion, you could make the argument that CHKP stock is more attractively priced. Such assertions are tricky because you would be assuming that the prior price represented the security's "true value" and that today's drop is somehow a deviation. From a lived experience perspective, though, we know that some stocks tend to overcorrect prior to reaching a relative equilibrium.
Now, what makes CHKP stock a more credible discount — rather than a wild presuppositional fallacy — is the underlying industry. For practically all intents and purposes, cybersecurity is permanently relevant. As other analysts have pointed out, it's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/long-ideas/25/03/44501515/cybersecurity-stocks-to-outperform-its-the-one-line-item-that-no-company-in-the-world-is-cutting-josh-brown">the one line item</a> that companies really can't afford to skimp out on due to the criticality of digital protection.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A Risky But Compelling Empirical Argument For CHKP Stock</h2>
Earlier, I mentioned that the concept of CHKP stock being discounted risks becoming a presuppositional fallacy. The reason isn't so much that the assessment itself is fallacious. Rather, it's more of a structural problem. Simply put, there's no objective way to define "true value" as opposed to "fake value" or some other financial pejorative.
It comes down to the harsh reality that stock prices and financial metrics such as earnings are continuous scalar signals. They merely represent the point at which a transaction took place. Even worse from an analyst's perspective, the signal is unbounded. Theoretically, CHKP stock could rise infinitely, which necessarily means that there's no objective mechanism to define when it has reached a "good price."
As far as I know, the only objective truth that has real analytical meaning is that, at the end of the day, the market is either a net buyer or net seller.
Let's take a look at the last 10 weeks of CHKP stock. Most people see an undulation of pricing activity. I see a sentiment voting record. During this period, the market voted to buy CHKP four times and sell six times. Overall, the security saw a downward trajectory. For brevity, we can label this sequence as 4-6-D.
Why the simple binary code? Because now, I can look back in the history of my dataset (which goes back to January 2019) to determine how many times on a rolling basis this sequence has flashed. This gives me an empirical basis to understand how the market responds to the 4-6-D sequence. As well, I can categorize the entire demand profile of CHKP stock, which would allow us to have a decision tree:

From the table above, the chance that a long position in CHKP stock will rise on any given week is 58.6%, a strong upward bias. This is effectively our null hypothesis, the expected performance assuming no mispricing. Our alternative hypothesis is that, because of the 4-6-D sequence flashing, the upside probability is now 70.97%.
Assuming that CHKP stock finds itself around $190 by the end of this week, it could work its way above $192. If the bulls manage to maintain control over the next two weeks, CHKP could rise above $194.

The thing to remember, though, is that the current drop represents an extraordinary event. It's possible that, under the right conditions, a dead-cat bounce could be more pronounced than it would be following a "regular" bout of volatility.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">An Intrepid Wager On Check Point Software</h2>
Those wanting to take a shot on the deep discount may consider the 190/195 bull call spread expiring Aug. 15. This transaction involves buying the $190 call and simultaneously selling the $195 call, for a net debit paid of $200 (the most that can be lost in the trade). Should CHKP stock rise through the short strike price ($195) at expiration, the maximum profit is $300, a payout of 150%.
The breakeven price for the above trade is at $192 at time of writing. Therefore, even though the median expected performance would put CHKP stock a bit shy of $195, it would still be forecasted to rise above the breakeven point. Of course, there's no guarantee that CHKP will move higher. However, the last time CHKP suffered such a massive drop — in October 2024 — it managed to move up about 3.2% week-to-week.
If CHKP stock could close at $190 or thereabouts, the $195 target by Aug. 15 does seem reasonable based on past analogs.
Of course, much hinges on the validity of the 4-6-D sequence. Running a one-tailed binomial test reveals a p-value of 0.0844, which means that there's an 8.44% chance that the implications of the sequence could materialize randomly as opposed to intentionally. This doesn't quite meet the 5% threshold of statistical significance. However, because of the stock market's open and entropic system, this is arguably an empirically intriguing signal.

Options Corner: Check Point Software's Post-Earnings Implosion Opens Deep Value Opportunity For Speculators

eVTOL company Archer Aviation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ACHR#NYSE">ACHR</a>) is one of several in the sector that has seen its stock price soar with support from the current <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/06/45896929/trump-launches-aviation-overhaul-archer-joby-new-horizon-aerovironment-rally-as-us-targets-drone-evtol-supersonic-comeback">White House administration.</a>
Archer Aviation founder and CEO Adam Goldstein tells Benzinga why the White House&#8217;s support is so important for the sector.
White House Support: Goldstein highlighted a recent executive order from President Donald Trump that emphasizes <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/evtol">drones and eVTOLs, </a>or electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
"This administration has had a big focus on rebuilding and modernizing air traffic control to make aviation not just safe but able to continue to grow and help move the economy along," Goldstein told Benzinga.
Goldstein said there has been bipartisan support for America to maintain its leadership in aviation, but the new White House administration accelerated that thinking.
The Archer Aviation CEO said there's evidence of the push to secure global aviation leadership in the One Big Beautiful Bill, with the White House putting their money where their mouth is.
"You've seen repeated steps by the administration to push the industry forward."

Defense Sector Primed for Growth: Along with the commercialization of passenger aircraft, Archer is also pushing forward plans in the defense sector.
Goldstein said there is a big focus on the defense side with the industry modernizing for modern-day conflicts.
"The defense opportunity I think may end up being larger than the civil opportunity in the first 10 years," Goldstein told Benzinga.
Goldstein said recent conflicts have shown that autonomous vehicles could be necessary to win. While many have seen small vehicles launched, Goldstein said big vehicles are coming.
The Archer Aviation CEO stated that defense vehicles in the eVTOL sector could play a key role in Western military strategies.
ACHR Price Action: Archer stock trades at $10.12 on Wednesday versus a 52-week trading range of $2.82 to $13.92. Archer stock is up 6.1% year-to-date in 2025.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RCL#NYSE">RCL</a>) shares are<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/movers" rel="noreferrer noopener"> trading lower on Wednesday.</a>
The firm&#8217;s sky-high rally hits a speed bump as revised yield outlook tempers investor expectations for 2025.
Goldman Sachs analyst Lizzie Dove reiterated the Buy rating on the company, lowering the price forecast from $364 to $361.

The downward revision of the high end of 2025 net yield guidance—from 4.6% to 4.0%—suggests that upside to earnings estimates may be more limited than many investors had hoped.
A shortening booking window—after already narrowing by one week for 2026 last quarter—isn't cause for alarm. The trend, she says, may prompt investors to pay close attention to Norwegian Cruise Line&#8216;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NCLH#NYSE">NCLH</a>) update later in the week for more clarity on cruise trends.
The setup for 2026 net yield growth could surpass current expectations, Dove says. Contributions from ships like Star, Excel, and Legend, as well as the incremental benefit from the Beach Club and the potential tailwind of a more stable macroeconomic environment.
To account for pre-opening costs related to Costa Maya, the Beach Club, and Celebrity River, Dove has slightly lowered 2026 EBITDA and EPS forecasts.
The full-year guidance does not factor in any additional acceleration in close-in demand—a detail Dove anticipates will be conservative and may ultimately leave room for upward revisions.
Pending more evidence to support this potential, Dove has slightly adjusted the FY25 net yield estimate downward from +4.4% to +4.0%.

What To Know: On Tuesday the cruise operator <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/07/n46682184/royal-caribbean-group-reports-second-quarter-results-and-increases-full-year-guidance">announced</a> strong second-quarter earnings, reporting an adjusted EPS of $4.38, sailing past Wall Street&#8217;s consensus estimate of $4.05. 
Revenue for the quarter also beat expectations, coming in at $4.54 billion. The company highlighted that booked load factors and rates are at an all-time high for all future sailings, driven by strong demand and resilient consumer spending.
Buoyed by the strong performance, Royal Caribbean raised its full-year adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $15.41 to $15.55. The company also increased its full-year adjusted EBITDA forecast to approximately $5.95 billion. Management credited the results to strong ticket pricing and robust onboard revenue.
In response to the report, Wall Street <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/RCL/analyst-ratings">analysts</a> were overwhelmingly positive on Wednesday. A flurry of firms reiterated their Buy or Overweight ratings and increased their price targets.
Stifel raised its target to $420, Citigroup increased its target to $399, and JPMorgan lifted its target to $367. Despite the strong results and bullish analyst sentiment, the stock&#8217;s modest pullback may suggest a sell-the-news reaction or minor profit-taking by investors after the stock&#8217;s 111% run higher over the past year.

Peloton Stock Is Rising Higher Wednesday: What's Going On?

SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SOFI#NASDAQ">SOFI</a>) saw its stock trading lower on Wednesday, despite Wall Street analysts reiterating their ratings after the company reported stronger-than-expected second-quarter financial results on Tuesday.
The fintech firm surpassed revenue and earnings estimates, driven by robust growth in its loan platform business and a significant increase in members and products, leading to Needham raising its price target on the stock.
SoFi reported second-quarter revenue of $858.23 million, beating analyst estimates of $801.49 million. Total revenue was up 44% as fee-based revenue climbed 72%.

Members grew 34% to 11.7 million and products increased 34% year-over-year to 17.1 million. SoFi originated&nbsp;$8.8 billion&nbsp;in loans during the quarter.
SoFi raised its full-year 2025 revenue outlook from a range of $3.24 billion to $3.31 billion to a new target of approximately $3.38 billion versus estimates of $3.27 billion.
In response to the strong results, Needham analyst Kyle Peterson reiterated a Buy rating on SoFi and increased his price forecast from $20 to $25. Conversely, Citizens JMP Securities analyst Devin Ryan maintained a Market Perform rating.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Needham&#8217;s Take</h2>
Peterson praised SoFi&#8217;s second-quarter results, highlighting that revenue and earnings significantly exceeded expectations and Street estimates. The outperformance was driven primarily by strong growth in SoFi&#8217;s loan platform business, which continues to benefit from resilient demand in private credit.
SoFi reported GAAP revenue of $854.9 million (+46% Y/Y), beating the analyst&#8217;s $805.5 million estimate and the $814.6 million consensus. Adjusted revenue of $858.2 million also exceeded forecasts.
GAAP EPS reached 8 cents, topping the analyst&#8217;s 6 cents estimate and consensus. EBITDA reached $249.1 million, well above the projected $207.5 million, thanks to revenue strength and improved operating leverage. Although net interest margin (NIM) declined slightly to 5.86% (versus 5.95% estimated), this was attributed to balance sheet mix shifts.
Following earnings, SoFi raised its fiscal 2025 guidance, now expecting net revenue of ~$3.375 billion (prior: $3.235 billion–$3.310 billion), EBITDA of ~$960 million (prior: $875 million–$895 million), and EPS of 31 cents (prior: 27 cents–28 cents).
Shortly after the report, SoFi completed a $1.5 billion secondary common stock offering at $20.85 per share, which Peterson viewed as opportunistically timed. This capital raise is expected to boost total risk-based capital by ~440 basis points, bringing it to an estimated 18.8%, a level the analyst sees as healthy given SoFi&#8217;s asset mix and growth profile. The analyst noted this improved capital position enhances SoFi&#8217;s appeal to institutional investors.
Citing stronger fundamentals and improved financial flexibility, Peterson raised his fiscal 2025 and 2026 EPS estimates.
The valuation is based on a sum-of-the-parts model that assigns $18 per share to the lending segment (at 2.5 times expected TBV) and $7 per share to the technology, financial services, and fee-based businesses, valued at ~7 times fiscal 2026 estimated revenue.
This valuation reflects the firm&#8217;s view of SoFi as a high-growth FinTech with a compelling long-term outlook. Peterson projected fiscal 2025 revenue of $3.38 billion and GAAP EPS of 31 cents.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Citizens JMP Securities&#8217; Perspective</h2>
Ryan described SoFi&#8217;s second-quarter fiscal 2025 as another standout quarter. Revenue and earnings were well above expectations, driven by exceptional loan platform performance.
Lending volumes remained strong, with $8.8 billion in originations (up 64% Y/Y), and personal loan originations hitting a record $4.5 billion. The analyst noted improving conditions for student and home loans, driven by waning federal support and expectations of falling interest rates, alongside SoFi&#8217;s more sophisticated go-to-market strategies.
The loan platform business (LPB) continues to gain traction, growing volume by over 50% quarter-over-quarter to $2.4 billion. Ryan highlighted LPB as a valuation-enhancing growth engine, with ample capacity and potential expansion into new loan categories.
In the technology segment, SoFi generated $33 million in contribution profit at a 30% margin, and management reiterated its outlook for low double-digit to teens revenue growth in 2025. SoFi expects 10 new clients to generate revenue in the first quarter of 2026, up from zero in the first quarter of 2025, pointing to future momentum.
The analyst also flagged early integration of blockchain and AI. SoFi discussed automating international peer-to-peer money transfers via blockchain, re-launching crypto investing, and exploring asset tokenization and treasury-linked stablecoin revenue.
On the AI side, the firm launched Cash Coach to help users optimize cash, with broader AI-enabled financial guidance expected to deepen customer engagement and asset consolidation over time.
Following strong results, SoFi raised full-year 2025 guidance. Although Ryan had recently downgraded the stock to Market Perform from Market Outperform (citing valuation concerns after a strong run), he acknowledged the quarter was even better than expected.
The analyst remains constructive on SoFi&#8217;s long-term optionality, particularly around blockchain, AI, and potential M&amp;A, but sees the risk and reward as balanced at current valuation levels in the low-to-mid $20s.
Their long-term model assumes revenues could triple by 2030, EBITDA margins could expand into the mid-30% range, and EPS could grow to ~$1.75+, supporting a fair value in the mid-$20 range when applying a 25 times multiple and a 13% discount rate.
Ryan projected fiscal 2025 revenue of $3.32 billion and adjusted EPS of 28 cents.

His spending problem? Classic cars. Allie explained that he runs a restoration shop but is terrible at managing the business side. "He sees a car he wants, he gets it. He cycles through like three or four sports cars a year," she said.
Despite living with him for the last two years, her name isn&#8217;t on the mortgage. He recently asked her to co-sign a $100,000 home equity line of credit, or HELOC, so he could <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/heloc-to-pay-off-credit-card-debt">pay off the credit card debt</a>. Allie immediately knew that was a bad idea. "If he takes one of those sports cars and wraps her around a telephone pole, I&#8217;m stuck with his debt for the rest of my life," she said.&nbsp;
Allie admitted she briefly considered helping because of what he did for her in the past. After a devastating car accident left her with spinal injuries and a traumatic brain injury, Allie lost her house, car, job and life savings. Her health insurance company sued her to recover the $500,000 they had spent on her care. With nowhere else to go, she moved in with her boyfriend, who helped her recover.
But now, she's the one carrying the financial burden. "I&#8217;m currently paying all of our bills," she said. "Because he has nothing to pay them with."

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Not Married, No Ring, No Security</h2>
Kamel and Warshaw were straightforward: she should not feel guilty or obligated to co-sign anything. "If somebody does something out of an act of generosity, they&#8217;re not looking to be paid back," Warshaw said.
They also pointed out how financially risky her situation has become. "You're paying his bills and you're broke," Kamel told her. "You&#8217;re not really gaining as much as you think."
Allie revealed she now earns about $35,000 a year, down from $70,000 before her injuries. Her health limitations keep her from taking more physically demanding jobs. And she said she feels trapped because she doesn't make enough to afford a place of her own.
Still, she admitted that if she had more money, she would leave the relationship.&nbsp;
Kamel and Warshaw encouraged her to keep searching for a rental or roommate situation. "There's a bunch of great girls out there who would love a great roommate like Allie who can pay her fair share," Kamel said. "He has chosen his obsession over you."

Shares of crypto-related companies are trading lower after Fed Chair Powell left rates unchanged. Fed Chair Powell mentioned that inflation is still above target.

As advancements in cancer treatment continue to evolve, the pursuit of more effective therapies for metastatic colorectal cancer remains a critical focus in the pharmaceutical industry. Cardiff Oncology, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CRDF#NASDAQ">CRDF</a>) on Tuesday released data from the ongoing CRDF-004 Phase 2 clinical trial evaluating onvansertib in combination with standard-of-care (SoC) in patients with first-line RAS-mutated <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/biotech" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC)</a>.
Patients were randomized to one of six arms, including 20mg of onvansertib plus SoC, 30mg of onvansertib plus SoC, or SoC alone.
The overall objective response rate (ORR) was 59% on the high dose and 50% in the 20 mg dose, compared to a 43% response <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/07/g46704927/cardiff-oncology-announces-positive-data-from-ongoing-randomized-phase-2-first-line-ras-mutated-mc" rel="noreferrer noopener">rate in the control arm</a>.
After removing the ORRs at 6 months, the confirmed ORRs for the high-dose, low-dose, and control arms were 49%, 42%, and 30%, respectively.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Onvansertib Shows Promise With High Response Rates</h2>
For comparison, December 2024 data showed an ORR of 57% in all onvansertib patients, with 50% in the 20mg dose of onvansertib + SoC arm and 64% in the 30mg dose of onvansertib + SoC arm, compared to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/12/42416310/whats-going-on-with-cardiff-oncology-stock-on-tuesday" rel="noreferrer noopener">33% in the SoC alone arm</a>.
Spider Plots, displaying the change in tumor size from baseline for each patient over time, demonstrate deeper responses in patients receiving the 30mg dose of onvansertib combined with the SoC compared to the control arm and the 20mg dose of onvansertib arm.

Both the 20mg and 30mg onvansertib arms demonstrated an early separation of the progression-free Survival (PFS) curves compared to the control arm at a median follow-up time of 6 months.
While the median PFS has not been reached, a dose-dependent effect was observed in favor of the 30mg onvansertib dose.
The safety analysis was conducted for the 104 patients dosed in the trial. Onvansertib, in combination with chemotherapy and bevacizumab, was well-tolerated, and no major or unexpected toxicities were observed.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Can This Drug Change Colorectal Cancer Outcomes?</h2>
Grade 3 or higher adverse events were infrequent, with neutropenia being the most common treatment-emergent adverse event associated with onvansertib.
Update on first-line mCRC program expected by the first quarter of 2026.
William Blair believes the current data on onvansertib justifies further investment, including moving forward with a Phase 3 trial.
The overall data shows that onvansertib is clearly effective, which analyst Andy Hsieh says weakens the bearish argument against the stock.
The key question is whether the ORR improvement will result in a meaningful gain in PFS, the main measure needed for approval.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Dose Variations Impact Patient Survival Rates</h2>
Looking at past data, even a modest improvement in response rates—like the 11% increase seen in the Phase 3 TRIBE study—can result in a successful outcome in key trials, especially if it also boosts PFS.
In the Phase 3 BREAKWATER study for BRAF-mutated colorectal cancer, a 20% jump in response rate led to meaningful gains in PFS and overall survival.
Analyst Hsieh writes that the current valuation reflects considerable skepticism regarding the compound's clinical profile, which William Blair disagrees with.

'US Hits Iran Oil-Trading Network in Sweeping Sanctions Crackdown' - Bloomberg News

Polaris Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PII#NYSE">PII</a>) reported better-than-expected second-quarter <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/PII/earnings">financial results on Tuesday</a>.
Polaris posted adjusted earnings of 40 cents per share, compared to market estimates of a loss of 4 cents per share. The company's quarterly sales came in at $1.852 billion beating expectations of $1.720 billion.
Polaris said it sees third-quarter sales of $1.600 billion to $1.800 billion, versus estimates of $1.671 billion.
Polaris shares gained 7.8% to trade at $53.32 on Wednesday.
These analysts made changes to their price targets on Polaris following earnings announcement.

Waste Management Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WM#NYSE">WM</a>) reported better-than-expected earnings for the second quarter, after the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/WM/earnings">closing bell on Monday.</a>
The company posted quarterly earnings of $1.92 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $1.89 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $6.430 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $6.369 billion.
&#8220;As we described at our recent Investor Day, WM is building distinctive platforms to drive competitive differentiation and fuel a powerful, long-term growth engine to create shareholder value. Our second quarter results are a strong demonstration of our progress on all fronts,&#8221; said Jim Fish, WM&#8217;s CEO. &#8220;Our Collection and Disposal business produced robust organic revenue growth and margin expansion, achieving the Company&#8217;s best-ever operating expense margin. We also grew operating EBITDA by double digits in both our Recycling Processing and Sales and WM Renewable Energy segments, as the earnings contributions from investments we have made in our sustainability businesses accelerate. Additionally, we continue to integrate our newest segment, WM Healthcare Solutions, and benefit from the impact of WM&#8217;s culture and operational excellence on customer relationships, cost efficiency, and financial results.&#8221;
Waste Management lowered its FY2025 sales guidance from $25.550 billion-$25.800 billion to $25.275 billion-$25.475 billion.
Waste Management shares fell 0.7% to trade at $233.95 on Wednesday.
