However, Alcon denied the request due to concerns about being associated with Musk and Tesla, citing Musk&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/02/37301290/elon-musk-is-still-attempting-to-defend-hateful-speech-amid-xs-growing-pains-and-public-backlash-rep">controversial behavior</a>, which they viewed as detrimental to their brand.

<li>Analysts are expecting Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VZ#NYSE">VZ</a>) to post quarterly earnings at $1.18 per share on revenue of $33.43 billion. The company will release earnings before the markets open. Verizon shares gained 0.4% to $43.86 in after-hours trading.</li>
