Traders are digesting weaker-than-expected retail sales and the potential for peace talks<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/25/02/43732115/explosion-rocks-chernobyl-nuclear-site-as-zelenskyy-signals-readiness-for-peace-talks"> between Russia and Ukraine.&nbsp;</a>
Retail sales in the U.S. fell 0.9% month-over-month in January, significantly worse than the anticipated 0.1% drop. However, markets are largely shrugging off the weaker-than-expected retail sales figures which were likely affected by January's cold weather and California wildfires, as well as the upward revision of December results.
Geopolitical tensions eased slightly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/25/02/43732115/explosion-rocks-chernobyl-nuclear-site-as-zelenskyy-signals-readiness-for-peace-talks"> told reporters</a> at the Munich Security Conference on Friday that he is willing to participate in Trump&#8217;s peace initiative and eventual talks with Russia.
The price of Crude Oil slid another 0.52% Friday and is down 9.9% over the past month as the market reacted to President Donald Trump&#8216;s plans to impose reciprocal tariffs on trade partners and news of potential peace talks to end the war in Ukraine.
The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note fell to below the 4.5% threshold on Friday, extending its pullback after January's retail sales data may have indicated some weakness in the U.S. consumer. The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TLT#NASDAQ">TLT</a>) rose 0.7%. 
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) rose above the $98,000 level on a midday rally Friday and XRP (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/xrp/usd">XRP</a>) climbed more than 7%.

Airbnb reported quarterly revenue of $2.5 billion which beat the $2.42 billion analyst consensus estimate and represents an increase of 12% year-over-year.&nbsp; The company said the increase in revenue was driven by strong growth in nights stayed and a modest increase in ADR.

Shares of Intra-Cellular Therapies, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ITCI#NASDAQ">ITCI</a>) rose sharply during Monday's session after Johnson &amp; Johnson agreed to acquire the company for $132.00 per share in cash for a total equity value of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/biotech/25/01/42948170/like-bristol-myers-squibb-and-abbvie-johnson-johnson-seeks-to-bolster-neuropsychiatric-portfolio-with-15-billion-deal">approximately $14.6 billion</a>.
With this agreement, Johnson &amp; Johnson adds Intra-Cellular Therapies' Caplyta (lumateperone), a once-daily oral therapy approved to treat adults with schizophrenia, as well as depressive episodes associated with bipolar I or II disorder (bipolar depression), as a monotherapy and adjunctive therapy with lithium or valproate.
Intra-Cellular Therapies shares jumped 34.6% to $127.62 on Monday.

Shares of Rivian Automotive, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RIVN#NASDAQ">RIVN</a>) rose sharply during Friday's session. The company disclosed its production and delivery figures for the fourth quarter and <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/movers/25/01/42786671/why-is-rivian-automotive-stock-surging-today">full-year 2024</a>.
The company reported a 1.5% year-on-year rise in its fourth-quarter deliveries to 14,183 vehicles. The company produced 12,727 vehicles at its Normal, Illinois facility. The delivery numbers are in contrast to 10,018 electric vehicles in the third quarter, which was the lowest number of quarterly deliveries since the first quarter of 2023.
Rivian Automotive shares jumped 17.9% to $15.63 on Friday.

Nu Skin Enterprises shares are trading higher after the company announced its subsidiary sold the Mavely affiliate marketing platform for $250 million in a mixed cash and equity deal.

Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NUS#NYSE">NUS</a>) saw its shares rise on Friday following the announcement of a strategic transaction <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/premarket" rel="noreferrer noopener">by its Rhyz Inc. subsidiary.</a>
Rhyz has sold its Mavely affiliate marketing technology platform to Later, a portfolio company of Summit Partners, for approximately $250 million in cash and a minority equity stake in the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/01/b42781900/nu-skin-enterprises-announces-strategic-transaction-of-mavely-for-250-million" rel="noreferrer noopener">combined Later/Mavely business.</a>
The deal, which also includes $33 million to be paid to other equity holders in the Mavely business, is part of Nu Skin&#8217;s broader strategy to enhance its affiliate marketing efforts. Despite the sale, Mavely will continue to provide technology and social commerce capabilities to support Nu Skin&#8217;s affiliate marketing business.

Ryan Napierski, Nu Skin&#8217;s president and CEO, expressed confidence in the transaction, highlighting how the combination of Later and Mavely will help accelerate the company&#8217;s vision for its beauty, wellness, and lifestyle ecosystem. Napierski also noted that the deal strengthens Nu Skin&#8217;s balance sheet, generating additional capital to increase innovation in its core business and investments in Rhyz companies.
This strategic move has resulted in an approximate five-times return on Nu Skin&#8217;s cumulative investment in Mavely since its acquisition in 2021. The proceeds from the transaction are expected to be used for debt reduction, further innovation, and stock buybacks under Nu Skin&#8217;s repurchase program, aiming to provide value to its shareholders.

Why Is Nu Skin Enterprises Stock Jumping Today?

Approximately $33 million of such consideration will be paid to other equity holders in the Mavely business. In connection with the transaction, Mavely is expected to continue to provide certain technology and social commerce capabilities to support Nu Skin's affiliate marketing business.
"Together, we believe Later and Mavely will provide enhanced capabilities to our company as we pursue our broader beauty, wellness and lifestyle ecosystem vision, while the transaction generates additional capital and resources for us to increase innovation in our core Nu Skin business and investment in our Rhyz companies," said Ryan Napierski, Nu Skin president and CEO. "This underscores the value of Rhyz to incubate and scale meaningful businesses with synergistic value across the enterprise."
This transaction generated an approximate five-times return on the company's cumulative investment in Mavely since it was acquired in 2021. Proceeds from the transaction are expected to be used to pay down debt and fund additional innovation. The company also plans to use its strengthened balance sheet to buy back stock under its existing stock repurchase program, providing value to its shareholders.
