Marathon Petroleum (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MPC#NYSE">MPC</a>) reported quarterly earnings of $1.87 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $0.98 by 90.82 percent. This is a 77.03 percent decrease over earnings of $8.14 per share from the same period last year. The company reported quarterly sales of $35.373 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $32.835 billion by 7.73 percent. This is a 14.93 percent decrease over sales of $41.583 billion the same period last year.
