The Fund is an actively managed exchange-traded fund (ETF) that pursues its investment objective by seeking investment exposure to the largest companies (Underlying Issuers) in one or more of the following industries, each of which is defined by an independent industry classification scheme: Technology Hardware Industry; E-Commerce Discretionary Industry; Internet Media & Services Industry; and Software Industry (collectively, the Technology Industries). The Fund generally will offer exposure to between five and ten Underlying Issuers primarily through the use of swap agreements and/or forward contracts. The Fund also may invest directly in the equity securities issued by the Underlying Issuers, such as common stock or American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), or other securities that provide similar exposure to one or more Underlying Issuers when the Adviser believes doing so is in the best interests of the Fund and its shareholders.

While investors stayed fixated on artificial intelligence and the mega-cap tech giants leading the charge over the past five years, a quiet outperformer emerged: a small-cap retailer selling plush toys and kids&#8217; accessories that has outpaced them all.
What Happened: On Wednesday, the founder of AI platform Bearly.AI, Trung Phan, highlighted this performance in a post on X.
The stock in question is Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc., which is known for its make-your-own stuffed animal stores, which have since become a staple in American malls.

A shift in the company&#8217;s business model has sent its shares soaring by 1,648.48% over the past five years, with Nvidia Corp. being a distant second at 1,491%, followed by Apple Inc., Microsoft Corp. and Alphabet Inc. at 144.72%, 147.79%, and 135.53%, respectively, over five years.

In his post, Phan notes the dramatic performance gap between the stocks, despite the broader frenzy surrounding AI and digital transformation during this period. 
&#8220;Big Tech this, Big Tech that,&#8221; Phan says, pointing at the market&#8217;s obsession with these stocks, and yet the &#8220;big fluffy animal plush toys (Build-A-Bear)&#8221; managed to outperform big tech.
A few comments on Phan&#8217;s post credit Build-A-Bear&#8217;s rise to a shift in its strategy. According to Bryant Suellentrop, who runs a staffing agency, the company's pivot from marketing primarily to children toward engaging nostalgic adults with disposable income and access to a credit card played a key role in the stock&#8217;s surge.

Why It Matters: Analysts continue to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/insights/analyst-ratings/25/05/45449312/expert-outlook-build-a-bear-workshop-through-the-eyes-of-7-analysts">maintain a bullish outlook</a> on the stock, with 6 out of 7 being bullish, and 1 &#8220;Somewhat Bullish,&#8221; with an average consensus price target of $54.14, or a 17.28% upside from current levels.
Despite substantial tariff-related headwinds, the company <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/05/45670275/build-a-bear-sticks-to-outlook-despite-tariff-pressure-stock-soars-25">stuck to its sales outlook</a> for the full year, projecting growth in the mid-single-digit rate compared to the previous year.

Build-A-Bear Beats Big Tech: Plush Toy Retailer Outpaces Nvidia, Apple With Over 1,600% Returns In 5 Years

The Magnificent Seven did not disappoint in May, posting a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs/new-etfs/25/06/45722678/magnificent-seven-closed-a-blockbuster-may-added-nearly-2-trillion-in-market-value">record-breaking $1.75 trillion in collective market cap gain</a>, their strongest combined performance in years. 
The center of the mania: the Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (BATS:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAGS#BATS">MAGS</a>), which saw its best monthly performance since inception, powered by an AI-driven, earnings-supported technology surge.
But with valuations sky-high and Apple (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) in reverse gear, is this still a time to buy, or has the market become too magnificent for its own good?
Benzinga spoke to David Mazza, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/david-mazza">CEO of Roundhill Investments</a>, to discuss the factors behind MAGS&#8217; &#8220;best month since inception&#8221; and whether the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs">ETF&#8217;s star status</a> still shines through in changing macro winds.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Broad-Based Gains, Not Just A One-Stock Show</h2>
&#8220;What stood out was the breadth of the rally,&#8221; Mazza said in an interview with Benzinga. &#8220;Nvidia (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) led with a 24% gain, but Tesla (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>), Meta (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>), Microsoft (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>), Amazon (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>), and Alphabet (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) also posted double-digit gains, signaling a broad-based resurgence in the mega caps.&#8221;
The tailwind, Mazza said, was fueled by easing trade tensions and healthy earnings, especially in AI and cloud. &#8220;While we anticipated strength from these companies, the magnitude and breadth of the rally exceeded expectations.&#8221;
Nvidia contributed alone with $639 billion worth of market cap, while Tesla and Meta were not far behind. Microsoft added $484 billion, Amazon increased by $219 billion, and Alphabet added $152 billion.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Apple Lags Behind, But MAGS Remains Firm</h2>
The sole laggard among the gang was Apple, which dropped 6%, erasing $192 billion in market capitalization and significantly underperforming the S&amp;P 500. Nevertheless, MAGS&#8217; equal-weighting approach prevented the decline from derailing the ETF&#8217;s performance.
&#8220;Apple&#8217;s underperformance, influenced by trade tensions and delayed AI initiatives, presents a potential buying opportunity,&#8221; Mazza said, highlighting the stock&#8217;s solid ecosystem and diversified manufacturing strategy.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why The Magnificent Seven Still Matter</h2>
More than mere tech giants, Mazza views the Magnificent Seven as critical plumbing to the economy of today. These firms drive everything from cloud computing to e-commerce, he said. &#8220;MAGS focuses exclusively on these companies, providing targeted exposure to the core drivers of modern economic growth.&#8221;
As opposed to the broad tech ETFs that encompass legacy or cyclical names, MAGS is laser-like. And while volatility clouds traditional sectors, some analysts, including Goldman Sachs, have referred to these mega-caps as a &#8220;defensive growth proxy.&#8221;
Mazza does too.
&#8220;These companies combine strong growth prospects with resilient business models, making them attractive during uncertain times. Goldman Sachs&#8217; characterization of them as a &#8216;defensive growth proxy&#8217; aligns with our view,&#8221; he agreed.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Question Of Valuation: Bubble Or Justified?</h2>
With the Magnificent Seven's forward P/E ratio now pushing 27.4x, the ghost of the dot-com bubble inevitably enters the chat. But Mazza sees a key difference.
"While the group&#8217;s median forward P/E ratio has risen to around 27x, it&#8217;s important to note that these valuations are supported by substantial earnings growth and strong fundamentals," he said. "Unlike the dot-com era, these companies are profitable and generate significant cash flow," Mazza noted. Nvidia, for example, posted a 69% YoY revenue jump last quarter.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Earnings Outlook And The AI Edge</h2>
Mazza is also optimistic about earnings, citing the group&#8217;s leading position in AI, cloud, and digital services. &#8220;Given their central roles in AI, cloud computing, and digital services, we anticipate continued earnings momentum as demand for these technologies persists and expands across various sectors.&#8221;
While MAGS provides exposure to high-cap AI adopters, Roundhill also has the CHAT ETF available for investors wanting more focused plays on Generative AI.
&#8220;We view AI as a transformative force with long-term implications. The companies within MAGS are not only early adopters, but also key enablers of AI technologies,&#8221; Mazza clarified. 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What&#8217;s Next For MAGS?</h2>
Even with the monster rally, Mazza dampens expectations for the remainder of 2025.
&#8220;We don't expect a repeat of the massive gains we saw in the past year, but that doesn't mean the story is over,&#8221; he conceded. &#8220;If earnings growth remains solid and rate expectations stay in check, MAGS could still deliver compelling returns, just more measured than the blockbuster runs we&#8217;ve recently witnessed.&#8221;
With the market still characterized by uncertainty, Mazza feels that Magnificent Seven&#8217;s growth, quality, and macro sensitivity are an elusive combination.
These companies are essential to enterprise and consumer activity,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And MAGS is built to give investors direct exposure to that durability.&#8221;

May might have been magnificent, but the future of MAGS will be more measured, not muted. For those who want a high-conviction wager on AI, cloud, and the core players in the digital economy, Mazza makes the case the ETF is a singularly focused yet compelling entry point.
After all, in a world short on clarity, the Magnificent Seven might just be the market&#8217;s most down-to-earth stars.

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Global Inc. overtook several Wall Street behemoths in a stunning rally last month, driven by its historic inclusion in the S&amp;P 500 and renewed cryptocurrency optimism.

Coinbase made history last month <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/price-target/25/05/45416971/coinbase-becomes-first-pure-play-crypto-stock-in-sp-500-analyst-sees-major-institutional-upside">after it became</a> the first pure-play cryptocurrency stock to join the S&amp;P 500 Index, the widely used benchmark for the U.S. stock market.
The firm also made a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/05/45287050/coinbase-acquires-deribit-in-2-9b-deal-to-expand-crypto-derivatives-business">big push into the global crypto derivatives market</a> by acquiring crypto options exchange Deribit for approximately $2.9 billion in a cash-and-stock deal. Once completed, the deal will make Coinbase the largest cryptocurrency derivatives platform in terms of open interest and options volume.
Further upsides were driven by the recovery of the cryptocurrency market, with Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) embarking on a <a href="https://in.benzinga.com/25/05/45589015/bitcoin-rockets-to-record-highs-amid-trumps-commitment-and-swedens-corporate-treasury-move">record-breaking rally</a>.
Price Action:&nbsp; Shares of Coinbase rose 0.19% in after-hours trading after closing 4.94% higher at $258.91&nbsp;during Tuesday&#8217;s regular trading session, according to&nbsp;<a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard?_gl=1&#x2A;380nj0&#x2A;_ga&#x2A;MTEyOTAyOTcxMy4xNzEzMzY0NTYy&#x2A;_ga_V7ZK73W7N0&#x2A;MTcxNDk4MzIzMi42LjEuMTcxNDk4OTE0Ni4wLjAuMA.." target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">data from Benzinga Pro</a>. Coinbase Crushed Tesla, Amazon And Other Mag 7 Peers In Recent Rally — Here's What Drove The Stunning Comeback

The Invesco QQQ Trust, Series 1 (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>), Wall Street's go-to tech fund, just recorded its second-largest monthly inflow on record, as investors chased an impressive rally in the Nasdaq 100 index powered by a trade war truce <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs/new-etfs/25/06/45722678/magnificent-seven-closed-a-blockbuster-may-added-nearly-2-trillion-in-market-value">and Magnificent Seven dominance.</a>
The QQQ ETF pulled in $7.2 billion of net inflows in May, according to TradingView&#8217;s fund flow data. That marks the second-largest monthly inflow in the ETF's 10-year history, only trailing November 2024's $9.2 billion surge that followed Donald Trump's presidential victory.
Fueled by a 9% rally in the Nasdaq 100 — its best month since November 2023 — the fund crossed $330 billion in assets under management, consolidating its position as the fifth-largest ETF globally.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What Sparked The Inflows?</h3>
The rally followed a breakthrough in U.S.-China trade relations. On May 11, both countries agreed to a 90-day trade truce, slashing average tariff rates by 115 percentage points.
U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods dropped from 145% to 30%, while Beijing reduced duties on American imports from 125% to 10%.
"The temporary deal puts greater pressure on the two countries to develop a mutually amicable agreement," LPL Financial chief economist Jeffrey Roach said in a recent note.
The deal provided immediate relief to export-heavy sectors — especially tech hardware, semiconductors and software services — and helped fuel the Nasdaq's broad-based rally.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Magnificent Seven&#8217;s Dominance Strengthens</h3>
The Magnificent Seven stocks played a central role in QQQ's surge, continuing the momentum from their historic $1.75 trillion of combined market-cap gain in May.
Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) jumped 23.5%, becoming the second-best performing Nasdaq 100 stock in the month. 
Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) gained 20.9%, while Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) and Microsoft Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NYSE">MSFT</a>) posted monthly gains of 19.4% and 16.5% respectively.
These megacap tech names are viewed by institutional investors as &#8220;defensive growth proxies&#8221;, according to Goldman Sachs' Ryan Hammond, citing their strong earnings and relevance in AI, cloud computing and enterprise infrastructure.
Roundhill Investments CEO David Mazza, whose firm manages the Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAGS#NYSE">MAGS</a>), said these companies "aren't speculative bets on future adoption," but rather, "staples within global consumers' lives."

QQQ ETF Just Saw Its Second-Best Month Of Inflows Ever: Here's Why

The Magnificent Seven etched a historic chapter in market history in May 2025, delivering blockbuster gains and an eye-popping $1.75 trillion surge in combined market capitalization, their strongest <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/magnificent-seven">monthly performance in years.</a>

(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>), Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>), Microsoft Corp. <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Who Gained The Most?</h3>
Nvidia led the pack with a 24.2% gain, marking its strongest month since May 2024. The chipmaker, a key player in the AI race, added a staggering $639 billion in market cap. 
Tesla jumped 21.5%, growing its value by $207 billion, while Meta Platforms rallied 19.4%, adding $242 billion. Microsoft gained 16.8%, contributing another $484 billion to the total surge.
Amazon added $219 billion, climbing 10.7%, and Alphabet rose 5.3%, adding $152 billion.

Apple was the lone laggard, falling 6% in May and wiping out $192 billion in market cap. This underperformance, compared to the S&amp;P 500's 6% gain, marks Apple's worst relative showing since 2018.
Historical patterns, however, suggest the dip might be a buying opportunity. As detailed in <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/education/25/05/45675595/apple-eyes-worst-month-vs-sp-500-since-2018-but-history-says-buy-the-dip-now">a recent Benzinga analysis</a>, Apple has often rebounded strongly after periods of relative weakness.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Why Analysts See More Upside</h3>
Goldman Sachs analyst Ryan Hammond said he&#8217;s watching for the Magnificent Seven to outperform the broader market this summer, citing earnings strength and their defensive appeal.
"Supercap Tech will act as a ‘defensive growth proxy,' and this is exactly what investors want during what will remain highly uncertain times," Hammond said in a Monday note.
He added that the group posted its best quarterly positive earnings-per-share surprise since the third quarter of 2023.
David Mazza, CEO of Roundhill Investments — which manages the Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF — echoed the bullish sentiment, emphasizing that these companies are not speculative growth plays.
"These companies aren't speculative bets on future adoption," Mazza said. "They are the infrastructure of the real economy and, in some cases, staples within global consumers' lives."
Mazza believes exposure to themes like enterprise demand, AI, cloud computing and automation will prove more resilient than traditional sectors such as consumer staples or utilities.
"MAGS offers diversified exposure to this rare blend of growth, quality, and macro relevance," he said. "In a world where clarity is scarce, the Magnificent Seven remain, ironically, the most grounded in real earnings and economic activity."
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Yet Valuations Are Stretching Again</h3>
Ed Yardeni, president of Yardeni Research, said in an emailed comment last week that the S&amp;P 500's forward price-to-earnings ratio rose from 18.0 in early April to 21.5 by the end of May.
He added that most of this jump came from the Magnificent Seven, whose group valuation climbed from 21.9 to 27.4 — showing strong investor demand for top tech stocks but also raising concerns that they may be getting too expensive.

Magnificent Seven Closed A Blockbuster May, Added Nearly $2 Trillion In Market Value

The co-founder and executive chairman of Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSTR#NASDAQ">MSTR</a>), Michael Saylor, isn&#8217;t shying away from showcasing the success of his &#8216;Bitcoin Treasury&#8217; gambit, which is now several years in the making, with a handful of copy-cats in the fray.
What Happened: On Sunday, Saylor took to X, sharing a chart showing the 3-month performance of different stocks, commodities, and cryptocurrencies, which of course, included Microstrategy, which now conducts business under the brand name of &#8216;Strategy.&#8217;
The chart shows the company&#8217;s 44% 3-month return, far outpacing the Magnificent 7 stocks, which, barring Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>), Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>), and Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>), are either flat or have witnessed steep declines during this period.

The stock has outpaced even Gold, tracked by the SPDR Gold Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GLD#NYSE">GLD</a>), the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>), which tracks the Nasdaq, and the SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>).
Most importantly, however, the stock has outpaced Bitcoin, which grew 22% during these three months, or just about half of what Strategy has delivered to its investors.
Saylor showcased this performance while cheekily writing &#8220;your portfolio needs a strategy&#8221; in his X post. Replies to the post, however, pointed out that he conveniently missed out on Bitcoin miner, MARA Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MARA#NASDAQ">MARA</a>), and GameStop Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GME#NYSE">GME</a>), another treasury firm, which have posted returns of 2.4% and 22.13% during this period.

Why It Matters: This is rather surprising, since the company&#8217;s rise to prominence in recent years has been tied entirely to it becoming a proxy for Bitcoin. Starting in 2020, when it first pioneered the concept of corporate &#8220;Bitcoin Treasury,&#8221; the stock has since been <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/08/40155839/bitcoin-development-company-microstrategy-plunges-almost-15-in-pre-market-whats-going-on">referred to as</a> a &#8220;Bitcoin Development Company.
However, it has long traded at a premium to its Bitcoin holdings, at 256% during November last year, which analysts attributed to its &#8220;Bitcoin Yield Strategy.&#8221; This is a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42138209/microstrategy-trading-at-insane-256-premium-to-bitcoin-holdings-research-shows">controversial performance indicator</a> that highlights the ratio between its Bitcoin holdings and diluted equity shares.
According <a href="https://www.vaneck.com/us/en/blogs/digital-assets/matthew-sigel-deconstructing-strategy-mstr-premium-leverage-and-capital-structure/">to</a> a report by VanEck, Strategy still trades at a 112% premium to the face value of its Bitcoin holdings, which it attributes to the leverage it employs by issuing convertible debt and equity to fund its aggressive Bitcoin purchases.
In recent months, as tech stocks, along with broader markets, reel from trade and tariff-related uncertainties, Strategy continues to gain, with rising Bitcoin prices, which investors look upon as a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/04/44787283/is-bitcoin-a-safe-haven-if-ray-dalios-worse-than-a-recession-warning-comes-true">potential safe haven</a> during a recession.

Bitcoin overtook several Wall Street behemoths Wednesday to become the fifth-largest asset by market capitalization.
What happened: The leading cryptocurrency broke its all-time high, helped by a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/05/45517785/bitcoin-to-hit-500000-by-2028-standard-chartered-says-as-etfs-buy-667m-on-monday">growing wave of institutional inflows</a> and <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/05/45535042/recession-odds-tumble-on-kalshi-crypto-based-polymarket-as-trumps-tariff-concerns-subside">improved sentiment</a> around tariffs.
The rally pushed Bitcoin's market capitalization to $2.183 trillion, higher than some of the largest technology companies on the planet.
As seen from the table below, Bitcoin was more valuable than Amazon, Google&#8217;s parent company Alphabet, Facebook's parent company Meta Platforms and the electric vehicle juggernaut Tesla, all of which are part of the high-performing &#8220;Magnificent 7&#8221; cohort.
The leading cryptocurrency has also outperformed Saudi Aramco, the world&#8217;s largest oil producer and most valuable energy company.
Additionally, Bitcoin's valuation was nearly double that of Warren Buffett's multinational holding company Berkshire Hathaway

Individuals have invested a record $122 billion into <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs">equity ETFs</a> so far this year. 
According to Goldman Sachs, that&#8217;s double the inflows since mid-March, despite the broader market losing footing and headlines turning bearish.
Conversely, the pros are exciting. Institutional investors have taken about $25 billion out of the market this year, selling into strength as Main Street loaded up on what they perceive as bargains. And retail investors have been net sellers on only six trading days since March 1.

SPY is the default ETF for overall U.S. market exposure, and its consistent inflows indicate that retail investors continue to wager on the resilience of the American economy. So far this year, the fund is up 1.5%.</li>

<li>Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>): The growth darling. Retail, meanwhile, is embracing the volatility, sure (or maybe convinced) that any selloff is just another chance to buy.
This impasse, Wall Street versus Main Street, begs the question: who&#8217;s right?

MAGS, QQQ, SPY Fly Off The Shelves: Unfazed Retail Buyers Pump In Record $122B While Wall Street Loses Nerve

The Magnificent Seven – minus Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>), which is due to report earnings this week – delivered a stunning earnings beat in the first quarter of 2025, surpassing timid Street expectations and sending a clear message: the foundations of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech">Big Tech's dominance remain firm.</a>
The six tech giants that have reported so far delivered an average EPS growth of 28% year over year — nearly three times the 9% pace seen across the rest of the S&amp;P 500.
They didn't just grow, they blew past expectations. Consensus estimates were exceeded by 16%, marking the most significant earnings surprise since the second quarter of 2021, when the group beat forecasts by 27%.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Big Tech Just Delivered Its Best Quarter In Four Years</h3>
Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) and Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) were standouts. Alphabet delivered 48.7% EPS growth and beat expectations by nearly 39%. Amazon posted a 62.2% earnings jump, crushing its EPS estimate by over 16%.
Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) followed with 36.5% growth, while Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) delivered 17.7%. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) showed more modest growth of 7.8% but still edged out its target.
The laggard was Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>), whose EPS fell 40% year-over-year, missing the mark by over 34%.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">MAGS ETF Rebounds, But Remains Underwater in 2025</h3>
The Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAGS#NYSE">MAGS</a>), a tracker of these tech titans, has surged 34% from its April 7 lows, outpacing the SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust's (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) 23% gain and Invesco QQQ Trust's (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>) 29% rally over the same period.
However, MAGS ETF remains 5% lower year-to-date. According to Dave Mazza, CEO at Roundhill Investments, this year&#8217;s drawdown reflected "increasing skepticism around valuations, sector concentration, and the growing impact of global trade disruptions." 
"These companies aren't speculative bets on future adoption," the expert noted. "They are the infrastructure of the real economy and, in some cases, staples within global consumers' lives."
Unlike previous cycles of concentrated market leadership, such as the Dot-Com boom, today&#8217;s leaders are not speculative growth stories but entrenched players in AI, cloud and automation.
Mazza highlighted that institutional flows into MAGS "remain relatively resilient," indicating long-term conviction hasn&#8217;t fully eroded.
All Eyes On Nvidia: The Final Piece Of The Puzzle
All eyes now turn to Nvidia, set to report earnings on May 28. 
Analysts expect EPS of $0.88, up 43% from the same quarter last year. Revenue estimates stand at $43.2 billion, which would represent a staggering 66% year-over-year increase. 
If those numbers hold, Nvidia could reinforce the Magnificent Seven's bullish narrative — and potentially lift the elite group of tech stocks into positive territory for the year.

Magnificent 7 Stun The Street With Best Earnings Beat Since 2021

Options activities show a sudden burst in bearish sentiment in the markets, particularly among large-cap tech stocks, following $33 million worth of put options being purchased.
What Happened: On Thursday, popular newsletter The Kobeissi Letter shared a chart on X, showing rising put option volumes among the &#8220;Magnificent 7&#8221; stocks, which comprise high-performing and influential U.S.-listed equities.
According to the X post, put volumes started to surge around 2 p.m. ET, ultimately reaching $33 million in total purchases before the closing bell. It marked the first time this week that bearish contracts outpaced bullish calls across the group.

Why It Matters: These stocks have added $3.57 to their market caps since <a href="https://benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/05/45414023/magnificent-seven-add-36-trillion-since-april-lows-is-this-rally-just-beginning">their April lows</a>, with $1.2 trillion in gains coming within just two days of the trade de-escalations with China early this week. 
The group witnessed steep pullbacks following President Donald Trump&#8217;s Liberation Day tariffs, owing to their global scale and operations. Even after the pause was announced, the <a href="https://benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/04/44916598/tariff-pause-fizzles-mag-7-stocks-slide-back-to-pre-pause-lows">stocks slipped back</a> to their pre-pause lows last month, as turbulent market conditions and uncertainties continued to persist.
While most stocks in this group still remain in the red year-to-date, they&#8217;ve recovered significantly over the past week, with the Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (BATS:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAGS#BATS">MAGS</a>), which tracks this grouping, rallying 21.90% over the past month.
The rising put option volumes could be in response to the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/05/45435170/jim-cramer-says-this-will-hurt-apple-president-trump-making-it-tough">fresh set of uncertainties</a> surrounding trade and tariffs by the current U.S. Administration. For instance, on Thursday, it was revealed that Trump is pressuring Apple CEO Tim Cook to stop iPhone production in India and bring manufacturing back to the United States instead.

&#8220;He [Trump] doesn&#8217;t care about small business owners,&#8221; Shapiro says, &#8220;because he likes big things, not small things.&#8221; He warns that small businesses don&#8217;t have any voice under this administration, since Trump wouldn&#8217;t want to &#8220;waste any time on you.&#8221;

Trump Running American Economy Like A 'Mafia Don': Economist Craig Shapiro Draws Parallels With Russia's President

The world&#8217;s largest exchange-traded fund tracking the Nasdaq 100 index is on track for its worst week of outflows since November 2024, highlighting growing investor unease about the sustainability of the tech sector&#8217;s rebound from <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/tariffs">the tariff-led selloff.</a>
The Invesco QQQ Trust, Series 1 (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>) lost $3.97 billion over the first four days of the week, according to TradingView data, with Friday's flows yet to be reported. This marks potentially the worst weekly outflows in six months. 
Notably, this exodus occurs even as the Nasdaq 100 posted a robust weekly performance, soaring over 6%.
The VanEck Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SMH#NASDAQ">SMH</a>) suffered outflows for $1.4 billion over the week, the worst since July 2024. 
Similarly, the iShares Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SOXX#NASDAQ">SOXX</a>) recorded $347 million in outflows this week, heading toward its worst weekly outflow since December 2024. This drain comes even as chipmaker stocks surged 11% over the same period, the strongest weekly gains since November 2022. 
Pressure is also being felt at the top of the tech elite: The Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAGS#NYSE">MAGS</a>) registered outflows for the second consecutive week.
<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Investors Are Rotating Out Of Tech Into Blue-Chip Stocks</h1>
Instead of an outright exit from risk assets, the flows suggest a sector rotation as investors appear to be moving from tech stocks into more traditional blue-chip names.
The SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DIA#NYSE">DIA</a>) recorded its largest single-day inflow since August 2020 on Monday, with $1.6 billion of fresh capital. 
By the week&#8217;s end, ETF pulled in $1.53 billion overall, eyeing the strongest weekly inflow in nearly five years.
<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Sector Fund Flows: Winners and Losers</h1>

<li>The Communication Services Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XLC#NYSE">XLC</a>) gathered $124 million, poised for its third consecutive week of inflows.</li>

<li>The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XLE#NYSE">XLE</a>) extended its painful trend, losing $717 million, marking the sixth consecutive week of outflows.</li>
<li>The Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XLY#NYSE">XLY</a>) saw an $84 million influx, posting its second straight week of gains.</li>

QQQ ETF Faces Worst Week Of Outflows Since November As Investors Sell The Tech Rally

Tech giant Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) is set to report quarterly financial results <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings">Thursday after market close </a>as the company faces a key antitrust case that could change the structure of the company's business segments moving forward.
Here are the analyst estimates for the first quarter, what analysts are saying and key items to watch.
Earnings Estimates: Analysts expect Alphabet to report first-quarter revenue of $88.87 billion, up from $80.54 billion in last year's first quarter, according to data<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pro/register?utm_adType=bzprocontent&amp;utm_campaign=14daytrial&amp;utm_ad=0423"> from Benzinga Pro.</a>
The company has beaten analyst estimates for revenue in eight straight quarters.

What Experts Are Saying: Alphabet's advertising revenue could provide an earnings surprise, Navellier &amp; Associates chairman Louis Navellier said in <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44947085/analyst-expects-googles-ad-revenue-to-pick-up-in-q1-google-normally-beats-heres-what-alphabets-chart-shows-ahead-of-earnings">a recent podcast.</a>
"Well, their sales are forecasted to go up 10.7%, and earnings are forecast to grow 7%. Google does not provide any guidance whatsoever, but it has a very good earnings surprise history. I think what everybody's going to be looking at is their advertising revenue very carefully,&#8221; Navellier said.
Bank of America analyst Justin Post <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/25/04/44909414/google-parent-alphabets-topline-can-withstand-pressure-in-uncertain-macro-scenario-compared-to-peers-analyst">recently maintained</a> a Buy rating on Alphabet with a price target of $185.
The analyst said that the Street has been lowering expectations for Alphabet, which could mean an in-line quarter or beat comes across as a positive.
Needham analyst Laura Martin <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/price-target/25/04/44848020/google-genai-ai-cloud-services-drive-analyst-confidence-in-long-term-growth">highlighted Alphabet's large language models</a> as a key upside valuation driver ahead of earnings.
The analyst recently reiterated a Buy rating with a $178 price target.
Martin said generative AI will help increase Alphabet's revenue growth. The company's segments, like Google's search engine and YouTube, give Alphabet's large language models a competitive advantage, Martin said.
Freedom Capital Markets chief global strategist Jay Woods said Alphabet is making headlines due to ongoing antitrust litigation and competition in search from the likes of ChatGPT.
"Shares have been under pressure all year and find themselves at a fork-in-the-road coming into their Thursday number," Woods said in a weekly <a href="https://jaywoods.substack.com/">newsletter</a>.
Woods said Alphabet stock rallied and paused at the end of 2024.
"That level of prior resistance now became support in textbook fashion. Shares rallied from there to make new all-time highs. Then, they failed again."
Woods said Alphabet stock shows a favorable risk/reward scenario with the potential to break down to the $140.50 and $136 levels, while the upside shows "smooth sailing" to the 50-week moving average above $172.
"It may take a strong beat and guide in this macro environment to push much higher, but the lines are set as we head into this busy week of earnings."
Key Items to Watch: One of the biggest items to watch with Alphabet stock remains the ongoing antitrust case with the Department of Justice.
Alphabet will likely be forced to sell or spin off its Chrome segment, with the DOJ finding Alphabet in violation of antitrust laws. The company could be forced to end its search deals with smartphone companies like Apple as well.
While Alphabet is unlikely to comment on the pending case, any commentary on what comes next or if the company discusses businesses in more separate lines than usual could signal future plans.
Google Search and YouTube were bright spots in the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/02/43479274/alphabet-q4-earnings-highlights-ai-cloud-youtube-momentum-continues-capex-guidance-sends-shares-lower">fourth-quarter results</a>. Investors and analysts will look for these key indicators to show strength in the Q1 results and in future guidance. Google Cloud also posted strong growth in the fourth quarter.
"Together, Cloud and YouTube exited 2024 at an annual run rate of $110 billion. Our results show the power of our differentiated full-stack approach to AI innovation and the continued strength of our core business," Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said after fourth-quarter results.
Alphabet&#8217;s results could put pressure on several top ETFs, as the stock is a member of the Magnificent Seven and one of the largest companies in the world.
Alphabet is the third-largest holding in the Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (BATS: MAGS) at 14.9%. The company is also one of the largest holdings in the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>), with Class A shares being the ninth-largest holding at 2.6% and Class C shares being the 11th-largest holding at 2.5%.
GOOGL Price Action: Alphabet stock was up 2.6% to $155.35 on Wednesday versus a 52-week trading range of $140.53 to $207.05. Alphabet stock is down 18% year-to-date in 2025.

A convergence of global macroeconomic headwinds has helped to bring about this weakness. J.P. Morgan Asset Management <a href="https://www.advisorpedia.com/markets/can-mega-cap-tech-stocks-withstand-the-tariff-pressure/">underscores </a>that around 75% of the suppliers to these companies are overseas, many in jurisdictions that are newly subject to fresh tariffs under new U.S. trade policy. 
Adding to the squeeze, corporate behemoths and Mag7 members such as Alphabet (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>), Apple (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>), and Microsoft (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) get more than half of their revenues abroad. Consequently, rising trade tensions and supply chain risks continue to be primary risk considerations for investors assessing exposure to QQQ or its underlying tech giants.
Why It Matters: A wider view presents a more complex picture. According <a href="https://www.advisorpedia.com/markets/can-mega-cap-tech-stocks-withstand-the-tariff-pressure/">to </a>J.P. Morgan&#8217;s Stephanie Aliaga, the recent decline has not been caused by a deterioration in underlying fundamentals. 
Instead, it is a repricing of risk in the face of heightened uncertainty regarding margins, capital spending, and earnings expectations. This has resulted in significant compression in valuation. 
Importantly, the forward price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple for the Magnificent Seven has fallen from around 31x early in the year to about 22x—its lowest price since January 2023, before the then-ongoing artificial intelligence (AI) cycle of investment.
This relative discount may attract long-term investors looking for quality at a better entry point. These companies are at the core of the QQQ portfolio and leading in innovation, especially in AI and cloud computing. Their impact on the overall market, and the QQQ, is still unbroken.
However, near-term prudence is likely to be justified. Trade headwinds are not likely to subside quickly, and more volatility in mega-cap growth can be expected. But for those with the stomach for short-term dislocations, the combination of cheap valuations and continued innovation leadership presents an attractive argument for revisiting QQQ and its Mag 7 exposure.

Now, less than two weeks since &#8220;the pause,&#8221; the tweet highlights that the fund is merely &#8220;cents away&#8221; from giving up all of its &#8220;post-pause&#8221; gains. &#8220;So much for the pause doing anything to stop the post-tariff bleeding,&#8221; it adds, as tariff-related uncertainties continue to weigh on stocks.

Why It Matters: When <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/04/44656898/market-mayhem-persists-as-tariffs-spark-turmoil-experts-say-dont-panic">markets began to crumble</a> during the first few weeks of the tariffs, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was quoted as saying that this selloff &#8220;was more a MAG 7 problem than a MAGA one,&#8221; before calling it a <a href="https://benzinga.com/25/04/44652055/its-more-a-mag-seven-problem-than-a-maga-one-treasury-secretary-says-as-wall-street-meltdowns">reassessment of U.S. tech stock</a> valuations following China&#8217;s Deepseek AI breakthrough. 
Senior tech analyst Dan Ives of Wedbush Securities has repeatedly <a href="http://benzinga.com/general/market-summary/25/04/44623604/us-stock-likely-to-open-lower-following-trumps-tariffs-worse-than-the-worst-case-scenario-says-analyst">called the tariffs</a> &#8220;worse than the worst-case scenario,&#8221; especially for tech stocks like Apple. Following the pause, he added that the decision <a href="https://benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/25/04/44721874/trumps-tariff-pause-saves-market-from-edge-of-the-cliff-dan-ives-says-biggest-wild-card-still-remains">saved the markets</a> from the &#8220;edge of the cliff,&#8221; while noting that China will still be the biggest &#8220;wild card&#8221; for U.S. tech.
According to Yogesh Kansal, the founder and CEO of investing platform Appreciate, stocks such as Alphabet, Amazon, and Microsoft are now &#8220;undervalued&#8221; based on their free cash flow metrics. Tariff Pause Fizzles: 'Mag 7' Stocks Slide Back To Pre-Pause Lows

Investor confidence is unraveling at a pace not seen in years, with recession odds climbing, U.S. equity allocations collapsing and cash piles swelling, signaling one of the most bearish market outlooks in a quarter-century.
In a note shared Tuesday, Bank of America's Michael Hartnett said April's Global Fund Manager Survey (FMS) revealed the fifth most bearish sentiment recorded in 25 years.
With global growth expectations at 30-year lows and fears of a trade war-induced recession surging, the market narrative has flipped sharply from optimism to caution.
&#8220;The current level of sentiment is the 5th&nbsp;lowest on record (behind 2001, 2009, 2019 and 2022),&#8221; Hartnett wrote.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">A Crash In Investor Confidence</h3>
The survey, which gathers responses from hundreds of global fund managers overseeing trillions in assets, shows net 82% of respondents expect the global economy to weaken over the next 12 months—the highest level since the survey began. This marks a dramatic deterioration from March, when only 44% held a negative growth outlook.
Recession fears are also spiking, with 42% predicting a global recession, up from 19% in March. 
The probability of a "hard landing"—where economic contraction is abrupt and damaging—jumped to 49%, more than four times the 11% reported just a month earlier.
Cash levels, a proxy for investor nervousness, surged to 4.8%, up 125 basis points since February—the sharpest two-month rise since April 2020, when the pandemic panic began.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Peak US Exceptionalism?</h3>
The survey shows a seismic shift in sentiment toward U.S. markets. 
Allocation to U.S. equities fell by 53 percentage points since February, the largest two-month decline on record. This pushed net underweight exposure to 36%, the lowest since May 2023.
A striking 73% of investors said the era of "U.S. exceptionalism" has peaked, referring to the belief that the U.S. economy and markets could outperform the rest of the world. Correspondingly, expectations for the U.S. dollar to depreciate hit their worst level since 2006, with 61% expecting further weakness.
Investor outlook on U.S. corporate earnings turned bleak as well—net 28% said U.S. profit expectations are negative, the most pessimistic read since November 2007, just before the global financial crisis.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Expectations On Inflation And Fed Rate Cuts Diverge</h3>
The inflation outlook took a notable hawkish turn. Net 57% of fund managers see higher global consumer price index (CPI) over the next year—the highest since June 2021. The month-over-month jump in inflation expectations, 50 percentage points, was the largest since March 2022.
Despite this, investors are betting on policy easing, with 41% expecting three or more interest rate cuts from the Federal Reserve due to tightening liquidity conditions and weakening economic activity. The largest share, 34%, forecast two cuts this year.
But Hartnett's note cautioned that meaningful upside in asset prices would require "big tariff easing, big Fed rate cuts, and/or economic data resilience."
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The New Crowded Trade</h3>
In a notable shift, the most crowded trade among fund managers is now "long gold," favored by 49% of respondents. This overtakes the tech-heavy "long Magnificent Seven," which led for 24 consecutive months.
Since the start of the year, bullion, as tracked by the SPDR Gold Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GLD#NYSE">GLD</a>), has rallied by 23%. During the same period, the US seven largest tech stocks – tracked by the RoundHill Magnificent Seven ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAGS#NYSE">MAGS</a>) – have fallen by 20%.
According to the survey, the rise of gold is tied to rising fears of stagflation—a toxic mix of slowing growth and high inflation—expected by 90% of respondents, the highest level since November 2022.
42% of fund managers also see gold as the top-performing asset for 2025, up from 23% in March. Meanwhile, global equities dropped to just 11% as the preferred asset class, a sharp decline from 39% the previous month.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">How Bad Can It Get?</h3>
April's sentiment collapse dragged Bank of America's proprietary Bull &amp; Bear Indicator down from 4.8 to 4.5, inching closer to the traditional "buy" zone, but still suggesting that while investors are fearful, they haven't hit full capitulation.
Hartnett's note also hinted at a potential contrarian setup: If tariffs are eased and the Fed delivers aggressive rate cuts, going long U.S. stocks, cyclicals and the dollar while shorting gold, bonds and defensives could pay off. 
But if hard-landing fears materialize, shorting European and emerging market equities, along with bonds, would become the favored play.

Wall Street's Mood Turns Bleak As Global Recession Fears Mount, Fund Managers Slash US Exposure

Wall Street staged one of its most powerful rallies in history on Wednesday, as a dramatic shift in U.S. trade policy ignited an aggressive risk-on surge across <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44720006/markets-take-off-as-trump-announces-90-day-tariff-pause-for-non-retaliating-nations-slaps-china-with-125-duty">every corner of the market.</a>
At the heart of the rally was President Donald Trump's unexpected announcement of a 90-day tariff pause for countries that have not retaliated against the U.S., coupled with a renewed hardline stance on China. 
The twin messaging—conciliatory toward allies, confrontational toward Beijing—was seen by investors as a calculated move to reset trade negotiations and de-escalate uncertainty.
Trump decided to impose universal 10% tariffs on countries that have not retaliated against U.S. duties, announcing a three-month window for fine-tuning negotiations. He also opted to keep duties on China as high as 125%.
The reaction was immediate and overwhelming.
The Nasdaq 100 – as tracked by the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>) – soared 11% by 2:40 p.m. ET, on track for its strongest one-day gain since October 2008, during the height of the global financial crisis. 
The S&amp;P 500 jumped 8.7%, its best session since March 2020, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 7.3%, also notching a post-COVID record. 
Meanwhile, the Russell 2000, which tracks domestic-focused small caps, rocketed 9.1%, nearing one of its best sessions since the index&#8217;s inception in 1987.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Mega-Cap Stocks Skyrocket </h3>
The Magnificent Seven stocks added a combined $1.44 trillion in market capitalization in a single session, in what is shaping up to be one of the largest single-day gains in aggregate market value ever recorded for the U.S. tech titans.

<li>NVIDIA Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) jumped 15.88%, adding $373.12 billion in market capitalization.</li>
<li>Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) rallied 11.72%, gaining $258.23 billion.</li>
<li>Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) rose 8.17%, up $215.33 billion.</li>
<li>Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) climbed 9.64%, increasing its market value by $174.34 billion</li>
<li>Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) advanced 10.05%, adding $152.22 billion.</li>
<li>Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) surged 7.82%, with a $138.74 billion boost.</li>
<li>Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) soared 18.60%, gaining $132.73 billion.</li>

The Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAGS#NASDAQ">MAGS</a>) soared 11%, its largest one-day jump since the fund&#8217;s inception in 2023.
"This was brilliantly executed by Donald Trump. Textbook, Art of the Deal," hedge fund titan Bill Ackman posted on X, reflecting the enthusiastic reactions from investors.
Economist Mohamed El-Erian noted that while speculation centered on who might have pressured the White House—Congress, CEOs, or courts—it was likely the government bond market that forced the administration's hand: "How close it gets to the line that separates wild price volatility from market malfunctioning," he wrote.
Before Trump's announcement, U.S. Treasuries had come under heavy pressure, with yields climbing amid growing investor skepticism toward American assets.
Market experts saw the move as a potential inflection point. 
"Markets are breathing a loud sigh of relief after President Trump announced a 90-day pause on tariffs and a reduction of certain ones," said Chris Brigati, CIO at SWBC. "The market&#8217;s move upward is violent, and speaks to how badly the market was looking for clarity."
Gina Bolvin, president of Bolvin Wealth Management, called this "the pivotal moment we've been waiting for," adding that the timing, just ahead of earnings season, may give companies a steadier backdrop for forward guidance.
Still, some warned the euphoria may prove temporary. "Uncertainty looms over what happens after the 90-day period," Bolvin said. "This underscores the importance of staying fully invested, particularly in a market as reactive and headline-driven as this one."

Nasdaq 100 Set For Strongest Rally Since 2008 As Magnificent 7 Add $1.5 Trillion In Historic Surge

Stocks and cryptocurrencies have been punched hard amid fears of economic fallout from President Donald Trump&#8217;s sweeping tariff measures.
Even so, Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has fared better than some of Wall Street&#8217;s tech behemoths.
What happened: The apex cryptocurrency has shed 15.79% of its value year-to-date, wiping out nearly $280 billion in investor wealth.&nbsp;
However, BTC was in a better position when compared with the "Magnificent 7" group, a cohort of seven large-cap technology companies.&nbsp;

As evident, Nvidia, Tesla, Google's parent company Alphabet, Apple, and Amazon have all reported losses of over 20% since 2025 began. Elon Musk-led electric vehicle maker Tesla was the worst performer, plunging over 40% in the period.
Microsoft matched Bitcoin's decline, plunging 15.90% year-to-date, while Facebook's parent, Meta, posted smaller losses than the leading cryptocurrency.

Interestingly, Bitcoin has strengthened against the &#8220;Mag 7&#8221; entities since October 2024, with the BTC to MAGS ratio jumping to its highest value in more than a year.

Despite Tariff Turmoil, Bitcoin Outperforms 'Magnificent 7' Stocks In 2025 — Records Smaller Losses Than Nvidia, Tesla, Apple

For the first time in years, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/magnificent-seven">the $3 trillion club</a> has no members. Apple Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>), the first company to hit the milestone in 2022, has fallen below the threshold, leaving Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) and NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) also trailing in their bid to reclaim the title.

<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Apple's Slide Takes It Out Of The $3 Trillion League</h1>
Apple's stock has been in a steep decline, falling over 20% year to date and more than 17% in the past month. By midday on April 4, Apple stock was down another 5% to $192.70, bringing its market cap down to $2.92 trillion. That means the club is officially empty, at least for now.

Microsoft, once Apple's closest competitor in the race, currently holds a $2.73 trillion valuation. Meanwhile, Nvidia, which surged last year on AI-fueled optimism, sits at $2.32 trillion. The rest of the Magnificent Seven — Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>), Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>), Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) and Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) — are further behind, with Tesla bringing up the rear at just $782 billion.
<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Broader Mag 7 Weakness Weighs On Markets</h1>
Apple isn't the only stock facing trouble. The Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (BATS:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAGS#BATS">MAGS</a>), which tracks the elite tech giants, has dropped nearly 22% year to date and 14% in the past month. The recent sell-off has weighed on the broader market, raising concerns about whether the mega-cap tech trade is losing steam.

Magnificent 7's $3 Trillion Club Is Vacant As Apple Stock Stumbles

The <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/magnificent-seven">Magnificent 7 stocks</a> are among those having a rough start to 2025 with all seven leading technology stocks down and the majority underperforming against the S&amp;P 500.
Benzinga readers picked their favorite Mag 7 stock to outperform the others over the next three months.
What Happened: Concerns over tariffs and macroeconomic issues have put a damper on the stock market and sent the prices of many leading stocks and indexes down in the first<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/25/03/44149681/magnificent-seven-leadership-questioned-mags-etf-stumbles-ai-trade-losing-steam"> three months of the year.</a>
While many of the Magnificent 7 stocks have outperformed the S&amp;P 500 over the last five years, they could struggle to maintain that outperformance over the next year if current trends continue.
Here's a look at how Benzinga readers feel about the key seven technology stocks right now.
"The Magnificent 7 stocks have recently rebounded. Which one do you believe will outperform the others over the next 3 months?" Benzinga asked.

The poll found Amazon to be the winner predicted to outperform the other Mag 7 stocks over the next three months. Nvidia ranked second in the poll, narrowly beating Tesla.
Amazon may be the winner given its role in the retail sector and being less impacted by tariff and macroeconomic concerns as shoppers look for value and convenience.

Why It's Important: Here are the current year-to-date and one-year performances of the Mag 7 stocks:

<li>Nvidia: -20.6% year-to-date, +21.7% one-year</li>
<li>Tesla: -29.7% year-to-date, +51.7% one-year</li>
<li>Meta: -2.3% year-to-date, +20.6% one-year</li>
<li>Apple: -9.9% year-to-date, +28.2% one-year</li>
<li>Alphabet: -17.2% year-to-date, +4.0% one-year</li>
<li>Microsoft: -8.7% year-to-date, -9.2% one-year</li>
</ul>
The Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (BATS:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MAGS#BATS">MAGS</a>), which tracks the seven stocks, is down 14.1% year-to-date and is up 18.8% over the last year.
For comparison, the SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>), which tracks the S&amp;P 500, is down 4.4% year-to-date in 2025 and up 6.8% over the last year.
Meta is currently the only Mag 7 stock outperforming the SPY year-to-date in 2025. Amazon trails the S&amp;P 500 year-to-date in 2025 and is slightly higher over the last year.
For comparison, a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/24/11/42121665/could-another-magnificent-7-stock-beat-nvidia-in-2025-poll-says-not-likely-27-pick-this-potential-winner">November Benzinga reader poll</a> asked if any Mag 7 stock would outperform Nvidia in 2025. Here were those results:

<li>Tesla: 27%</li>
<li>Amazon: 8%</li>
<li>Meta: 7%</li>
<li>Alphabet: 6%</li>
<li>Microsoft: 3%</li>
<li>Apple: 2%</li>

The poll found the near-majority predicting Nvidia will have the strongest growth in 2025 and dominate the Magnificent 7 stocks once again.
Coming in second place, and the stock that could have the best chance to pass Nvidia according to readers, was Tesla at 27%.
Amazon ranked third in that poll, which could show that sentiment has shifted away from Nvidia and Tesla being the top Mag 7 stocks and instead investors are looking to Amazon as the leader for 2025.

The study was conducted by Benzinga from March 25, 2025 through March 28, 2025. It included the responses of a diverse population of adults 18 or older. Opting into the survey was completely voluntary, with no incentives offered to potential respondents. The study reflects results from 104 adults.
