Benzinga Bulls And Bears: Chevron, Microsoft, Nike — And Tariffs Have Automotive Sector Reeling

KB Home (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KBH#NYSE">KBH</a>) shares are <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/movers" rel="noreferrer noopener">trading lower on Friday</a>.
The firm is leading the way in wildfire resilience with its newly unveiled <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/03/b44511945/kb-home-introduces-wildfire-resilient-neighborhood" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dixon Trail community in Escondido, California.</a>
The company said in a statement on Thursday that this development is the first in the nation to meet the home- and neighborhood-level wildfire resilience standards set by the Insurance Institute for Business &amp; Home Safety.
The homes in Dixon Trail are built with fire-resistant materials and methods based on over a decade of IBHS wildfire research.
These homes are designed to the highest level of protection against direct flame contact, radiant heat, and embers, reducing the likelihood of wildfire spread.
Upon completion, Dixon Trail will feature 64 homes, each constructed to the Wildfire Prepared Home Plus standard, ensuring they meet the strictest fire mitigation requirements.

He highlighted the importance of both homesite- and neighborhood-level strategies in preventing catastrophic wildfires.
Dixon Trail represents KB Home&#8217;s commitment to offering future homeowners a safer, more resilient living environment, marking another milestone in the company&#8217;s history of pioneering sustainable and disaster-resilient housing solutions.

Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Maintains Market Perform on KB Home, Lowers Price Target to $65

Shares of KB Home (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KBH#NYSE">KBH</a>) were rising in early trading on Wednesday, after tanking in the previous session on the company's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/03/44465789/kb-home-q1-earnings-revenue-miss-eps-miss-demand-more-muted-than-expected-buyers-responding-favorably-to-value-pivot-and-more">downbeat fiscal first-quarter revenues</a>.
The company is witnessing a softer start to the Spring selling season than in the past few years, according to JPMorgan.
The KB Home Analyst: <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst/58f9fdc60bd991000159a4c3/michael-rehaut">Analyst Michael Rehaut</a> reiterated a Neutral rating, while cutting the price target from $74.50 to $68.00.
The KB Home Thesis: Consumer demand has been impacted by "affordability and macro uncertainty, resulting in slower decision making," Rehaut said in the note.

While KB Home witnessed a steep decline in orders in the first quarter, its margins contracted due to a reduction in prices in mid-February to stimulate demand, he added.
Management lowered their full-year housing revenue guidance by 6% and gross margin guide by 90 basis points at the midpoint, the analyst stated.
Although KB Home recorded a "meaningful improvement" in orders during the back half of the first quarter, following the price cuts, builders are likely to face "a less supportive demand/supply backdrop in 2025," he wrote.
KBH Price Action: Shares of KB Home had risen by 1.59% to $59.50 at the time of publication on Wednesday.

Executives at KB Home gave similar comments on Monday's earnings call after the company lowered its revenue guidance for fiscal 2025 due to softer demand at the start of the spring selling season.
"Consumers are working through affordability concerns and uncertainties related to macroeconomic and geopolitical issues, which are causing them to move slowly in their homebuying decisions," said Jeffrey Mezger, CEO of KB Home.
The company lowered its base prices to align with market conditions and stimulate demand, he explained.

As the market has rebounded after Trump&#8217;s softer stance on tariffs, &#8220;Recent calm suggests advisors may have persuaded Trump to hold off the worst, but clarity is essential,&#8221; said senior economist Jeremy Siegel.
&#8220;A clear and measured tariff plan—particularly if it avoids broad retaliation—could trigger a strong relief rally,&#8221; he added.
Market watchers are keenly focused on international trade, with April 2nd emerging as a pivotal date, according to Siegel. The anticipated release of President Trump&#8217;s reciprocal tariff plans on that day holds the potential to either alleviate or exacerbate existing trade war concerns, he noted.
Siegel emphasized that the recent 10% equity downturn from December&#8217;s peaks underscores the significant investor apprehension surrounding unpredictable tariff announcements and their potential to destabilize global market sentiment.
Talking about the Federal Reserve&#8217;s commentary last week, Siegel added, &#8220;Fed Chair Powell's tone emphasized flexibility, dismissing long-term inflation fears tied to tariffs, and citing evidence from the financial markets muted long-term expectations. It's no surprise equities liked that combination from Powell, but sentiment remains jittery on tariff side.&#8221;
According to Kathy Jones, managing director and chief fixed income strategist at the Schwab Center for Financial Research, the markets were stuck in a range amid policy uncertainty.
&#8220;Some of the proposed policies are expected to slow growth such as tariffs and limits on immigration, while tax cuts and deregulation could boost growth. Similarly, some policies are likely to raise inflation pressures while slower growth could reduce them. With the Fed on hold amid the policy &#8216;uncertainty,&#8217; the market is stuck in a range.&#8221;

Asian markets closed on a mixed on Tuesday. China&#8217;s CSI 300, Hong Kong's Hang Seng, and South Korea's Kospi index fell in trade. Whereas, India's S&amp;P BSE Sensex, Japan's Nikkei 225, and Australia's ASX 200 index advanced. European markets were mostly higher in early trade.
