The Fund seeks to track the investment results of the S&P 500 Growth Index (the Underlying Index), which measures the performance of the large-capitalization growth sector of the U.S. equity market. It is a subset of the S&P 500 (the Parent Index) and consists of those stocks in the Parent Index exhibiting the strongest growth characteristics, as determined by S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC (the Index Provider or SPDJI), a subsidiary of S&P Global, Inc. The growth characteristics used by the Index Provider include three-year change in earnings per share over price per share, three-year sales-per-share growth rate and momentum (12-month percentage share price change). To the extent that earnings, sales and price data is not available for the above-listed time periods, the Index Provider will use shorter time periods in accordance with the Index Providers methodology. Companies commonly use this region to define their global market divisions.
EssilorLuxottica CFO Stefano Grassi shared the update during the company&#8217;s third-quarter 2024 earnings call, Upload VR <a target="_blank" href="https://www.uploadvr.com/ray-ban-meta-glasses-top-selling-emea/" rel="noreferrer noopener">reports</a>.

EssilorLuxottica, Ray-Ban&#8217;s parent company, has a stronghold in the global eyewear market and owns other popular brands like Oakley.
Grassi expressed satisfaction with the performance of Ray-Ban Meta glasses, noting their popularity in the US and across the EMEA region. The higher price point of $300 for the Meta glasses, compared to the average $150-$200 range for regular Ray-Ban products, indicates that consumers are willing to pay more for smart glasses that combine style and functionality.
While Ray-Ban Meta glasses offer basic smart features, Meta has consistently added new capabilities like WhatsApp voice messages and QR code scanning. Future updates are expected to include live translation and Spotify controls.
Despite the absence of advanced AI features in Europe due to regulatory delays, these glasses have still outperformed traditional Ray-Ban models in these regions, driving significant sales for the company.
While Meta&#8217;s smart glasses offer speakers and cameras that have attracted early adopters, the AI capabilities—including live translation and Spotify controls—are not yet available in Europe.
TechCrunch <a target="_blank" href="https://techcrunch.com/2024/10/21/metas-smart-glasses-outsell-traditional-ray-bans-in-some-stores-even-before-ai-features-roll-out/" rel="noreferrer noopener">reports</a> that Meta attributes this delay to ongoing uncertainty from European regulators.
Despite the lack of AI integration, Ray-Ban Meta glasses have exceeded sales expectations, signaling consumers are already drawn to the current smart functionality.
The success of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses has likely contributed to Meta&#8217;s decision to extend its partnership with EssilorLuxottica into the 2030s.
JMP Securities&#8217; Andrew Boone <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/41054106/meta-analysts-highlight-ai-vr-advances-see-growth-pushing-it-toward-apple-like-valuation" rel="noreferrer noopener">flagged growing confidence</a> in Meta&#8217;s hardware and XR (extended reality) roadmap at Meta Connect. He noted Meta&#8217;s strides in augmented reality (AR) hardware over the past five years and suggested that Orion could become the next major consumer computing platform.
Boone emphasized that Meta&#8217;s platform could become twice as profitable if it controlled its infrastructure, similar to Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) and Apple Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>).
He also highlighted the potential of Meta&#8217;s Llama models to capture a portion of search queries. The analyst expects Meta&#8217;s continued focus on lowering hardware prices will boost consumer adoption.
Meta Platforms stock has increased over 83% in the last 12 months. Meta's Smart Glasses Dominate Ray-Ban Stores, AI Features Still Missing

Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) announced during its &#8220;AI Tour&#8221; event in London that businesses will be able to develop their own autonomous artificial intelligence <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/artificial-intelligence">agents starting in November</a>.
These autonomous AI agents, which act as virtual assistants capable of performing tasks without supervision, are part of the company&#8217;s Copilot Studio platform.
The technology aims to streamline enterprise functions, allowing organizations to customize and create AI-driven agents.

Microsoft&#8217;s Jared Spataro drew parallels between the AI-driven agents and&nbsp;smartphone apps for the AI age, Bloomberg <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-10-21/microsoft-launches-ai-agents-deepening-rivalry-with-salesforce?srnd=phx-technology&amp;sref=TBDibEcD" rel="noreferrer noopener">reports</a>.
In addition to the Copilot Studio updates, Microsoft plans to launch ten new AI agents for its Dynamics 365 suite. These will support various business operations, from sales to finance and supply chain management. The integration of AI agents is expected to boost efficiency across multiple industries, and Microsoft will show examples of real-world applications during the London event.
The Redmond, Washington-based tech giant also demonstrated how its AI agents could transform customer service.
The announcement follows Salesforce Inc&#8217;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CRM#NYSE">CRM</a>) unveiling its AI tools in September with the launch of Agentforce. Salesforce&#8217;s platform allows businesses to build AI agents for enterprise-level tasks, positioning itself as a competitor in this rapidly growing space.
Microsoft also revealed a five-year deal with the UK government to offer its AI tools to public sector organizations. The agreement will provide access to Microsoft&#8217;s productivity tools, including Microsoft 365 and Azure, as well as AI-powered solutions such as Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Microsoft, Salesforce Battle Heats Up As AI Agent Technology Takes Center Stage

Nvidia Corp&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) Blackwell chips will not be available before early 2025, affecting key clients like Amazon.com Inc&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) cloud unit.
The artificial intelligence chip designer&#8217;s production challenge prompted Amazon Web Services to wait for bulk volumes of the chip to be produced for its data centers.
Amazon Web Services chief&nbsp;Matt Garman&nbsp;flagged the delay due to Nvidia&#8217;s production respin <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-10-17/amazon-says-new-nvidia-based-systems-won-t-be-online-until-2025?srnd=phx-technology&amp;sref=TBDibEcD" rel="noreferrer noopener">on</a> Bloomberg Television.

Dell Technologies Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DELL#NYSE">DELL</a>) also voiced similar timelines for the availability of its Blackwell-based servers.

KeyBanc&nbsp;analyst John Vinh expected Blackwell to generate over $7 billion in revenues in the fourth quarter.
Beth Kindig of&nbsp;I/O Fund <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/09/40670634/nvidia-set-to-reach-10-trillion-valuation-as-blackwell-expected-to-propel-chip-maker-with-firewo" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">projected that the</a> Blackwell chips would help Nvidia reach a $10 trillion valuation by 2025. JPMorgan&nbsp;analyst&nbsp;Harlan Sur&nbsp;snubbed the lack of impact of Blackwell&#8217;s production delays on AI demand from the hyperscalars.
<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41337034/amazon-strikes-at-nvidias-stronghold-through-databricks-deal-cutting-ai-costs-by-40">Earlier this week</a>, Amazon.com inked a five-year deal with AI and data startup Databricks to offer businesses more affordable AI development tools. The collaboration focused on utilizing Amazon's Trainium AI chips, a cost-efficient alternative to Nvidia's widely used GPUs. 
Databricks aims to transfer the cost savings from using Amazon's chips to its customers, allowing it to challenge Nvidia&#8217;s dominance in the market.
Nvidia stock gained over 227% in the last 12 months. Key supplier Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co&#8217;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSM#NYSE">TSM</a>) upbeat quarterly print <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41388050/apples-3nm-push-boosts-taiwan-semis-q3-ai-revenue-set-to-triple-analyst" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">further contributed to</a> the rally. The contract chipmaker acknowledged insane AI demand. It expects demand for high-performance computing chips for servers to more than triple in 2024, Nikkei Asia <a href="https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Tech/Semiconductors/TSMC-says-insane-AI-demand-is-real-and-a-boon-for-chip-giant">reports</a>.

What's Going On With Nvidia Stock On Friday?

Nvidia Corp&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) H20&nbsp;graphics processing unit (GPU) revenue could be affected by China&#8217;s prioritization of domestic-made&nbsp;artificial intelligence&nbsp;(AI) chips.

The stock is trading lower on Monday.

Reports indicating China&#8217;s retaliation against the U.S. semiconductor embargo on the Asian country started emerging in May. The U.S. cited national security reasons for the sanctions.
According to official records, China committed <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/24/09/40748185/chinas-markets-still-manage-to-get-nvidia-ai-chips-via-smuggling-report" rel="noreferrer noopener">43.5 billion yuan</a> ($6.12 billion) to computing data centers.
<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/08/40550305/nvidia-tech-fuels-chinese-ai-growth-overseas-alibaba-ramps-up-7b-investment" rel="noreferrer noopener">Prior reports said</a> Chinese AI developers bypass U.S. sanctions by leveraging blockchain technology via overseas data centers. China also resorted to smuggling Nvidia chips.
Recently, Alibaba Group Holding&#8217;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BABA#NYSE">BABA</a>)&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/24/09/40977069/alibaba-teams-up-with-nvidia-to-supercharge-evs-for-chinese-automakers-report" rel="noreferrer noopener">cloud computing services unit</a> collaborated with Nvidia to boost the&nbsp;autonomous driving&nbsp;experience for Chinese smart vehicle owners. The Chinese hyperscalar had previously acknowledged the severe impact of US sanctions on its AI ambitions.
Nvidia can earn $12 billion in sales from 1 million H20 GPUs in China in 2024. Nvidia acknowledged China as its third-largest market in its financial year, which ended January 28.

Nvidia's GPU Sales at Risk As China Pushes Local AI Chips in Retaliation

Nvidia Corp&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) jittery investors await an update on its Blackwell chip rollout ahead of the Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GS#NYSE">GS</a>) conference in San Francisco, where Nvidia chief Jensen Huang will speak with Goldman chief speak with&nbsp;David Solomon, Bloomberg <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-09-10/nvidia-s-blackwell-chip-delay-is-center-stage-amid-stock-slump?srnd=phx-technology&amp;sref=TBDibEcD" rel="noreferrer noopener">reports</a>.

Tariq highlighted that the performance of regional banks, which constitute a significant portion of the Russell 2000, remains uncertain as they have yet to report their earnings. While investment banks have shown strong results driven by trading activities, their net interest margins (NIMs) and wealth management divisions are still facing challenges. For instance, Bank of America has reported a 3% decrease in net interest income (NII), and Wells Fargo has seen a 9% decline.
Additionally, the persistence of relatively high yields indicates that regional banks may continue to face unrealized losses on their balance sheets, according to the expert.
Despite the recent rally, Tariq indicates that the Russell 2000 is still grappling with an earnings recession. However, she suggested that from an investment perspective, small-cap value stocks might be more appealing.
She referred to a chart shared by Bank of America that shows the valuation gap between large-cap growth – as tracked by the iShares S&amp;P 500 Growth ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IVW#NYSE">IVW</a>) and small-cap value stocks – as monitored through the iShares Russell 2000 Value ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IWN#NYSE">IWN</a>) – was at its widest since 2000, prior to the recent small-cap rally, indicating potential for further a &#8220;catch-up&#8221; and rotation trade.

5 Most-Loved ETFs of Last Week

There are tons of interesting <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/taxes">tidbits about Tax Day</a>. 
According <a href="https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-delivers-strong-2024-tax-filing-season-expands-services-for-millions-of-people-on-phones-in-person-and-online-with-expanded-funding">to</a> the Internal Revenue Service (IRS):
<ul>
<li>Officers answered more than one million taxpayer phone calls this season.</li>
<li>They processed over 100 million individual tax returns through April 6.</li>
<li>Tens of millions more filings will be made on the April 15 deadline.</li>
<li>About 19 million taxpayers will file extensions due Oct. 15.</li>
<li>More than $200 billion in refunds were already delivered. </li>
<li>The average refund was $3,011 — a 4.6% increase from last April's average of $2,878.</li>

These numbers change yearly, but there&#8217;s at least one fairly consistent Tax-Day trend: a jittery stock market. 
According to <a href="https://www.bankrate.com/investing/the-tax-season-effect/">Bankrate</a>, citing data from S&amp;P Global&#8217;s Kensho unit, the first couple weeks of April are typically &#8220;rougher.&#8221;
Many taxpayers will liquidate stocks or tap their money market funds to fulfill immediate cash requirements.
And from 2000 to 2016, the S&amp;P 500 Index declined an average 0.2% during the first two weeks before Tax Day.
After Tax Day, it&#8217;s a different scenario. The S&amp;P 500 usually bounces back to finish April about 1.7% higher on average (climbing &#8220;an astonishing&#8221; 75% of the time, Bankrate notes). 
Per <a href="https://money.com/stocks-could-rise-after-tax-day/">Money.com</a>, the S&amp;P 500 index enjoyed an average gain of 0.83% in the week following the tax deadline from 1998 to 2022 (for 19 out of 25 years). The one-week median gain throughout the year is 0.31%.
In April, the market&#8217;s overall impact is minimal. Investors would be wise to stick to their long-term investment strategy and prioritize contributing to tax-advantaged retirement accounts (i.e., <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/what-is-a-401k">401k plans</a> and <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/best-ira-accounts">IRAs</a>).
Historically, the S&amp;P 500 has yielded around 10 percent annual gains. The goal is to stay invested over time rather than attempting to time the market. 
Financial advisors typically suggest that their clients invest in S&amp;P 500 index funds (see below) and remain focused on distant future outcomes rather than short-term fluctuations.

Apple, Meta, and Google's Alphabet Under Scrutiny, EU Launches Antitrust Probes

But as <a href="https://www.cfraresearch.com/">CFRA Research</a> Director of ETF &amp; Mutual Fund Research Todd Rosenbluth points, some well-known ETFs have no exposure to shares of Tesla.

Plenty of folks think of Tesla as technology company and perhaps a time will come that it&#39;s moved to that sector, but for now, the company, like auto manufacturing stocks, resides in the consumer discretionary sector.
The Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/xly#NYSE">XLY</a>), <a href="https://www.ssga.com/us/en/intermediary/etfs/funds/the-consumer-discretionary-select-sector-spdr-fund-xly">famous for its massive weight to</a> Amazon.com (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/amzn#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>), can&#39;t hold Tesla until meets the S&amp;P 500 profitability requirement because XLY&#39;s underlying index is essentially a representation of the S&amp;P 500 consumer cyclical constituency.
<h3>iShares S&amp;P 500 Growth ETF (IVW)</h3>
The iShares S&amp;P 500 Growth ETF (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ivw#NYSE">IVW</a>), as is the case with the aforementioned S&amp;P 500 ETFs, isn&#39;t alone in its exclusion. In addition to the iShares fund, several rivals track the S&amp;P 500 Growth Index and Tesla isn&#39;t yet part of that benchmark.
Based on Tesla&#39;s market value of almost $133 billion at Thursday&#39;s close, if the stock entered the S&amp;P 500 Growth Index tomorrow, it would be the third-largest consumer discretionary name in the benchmark, behind only Amazon and Home Depot (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/hd#NYSE">HD</a>).
