BofA Securities analyst Ronald J. Epstein upgraded L3Harris Technologies, Inc. The analyst writes that L3Harris introduced its transformation initiative, &#8220;LHX Next,&#8221; which he initially viewed with cautious optimism.
However, recent results have reinforced our positive outlook, showing that the streamlined, focused LHX is now better positioned to fulfill its commitments and exceed expectations, says the analyst.

This innovative tool will be available to Waygate Technologies&#8217; customers and introduced to GE Aerospace&#8217;s maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) network later this year.
This milestone marks the successful completion of their first development program under the Joint Technology Development Agreement established in May 2023.
In their initial program, GE Aerospace and Waygate Technologies aimed to improve machine vision-based assisted defect recognition (ADR) systems using AI for commercial aviation engine borescope inspections.
The focus was specifically on High Pressure Compressor (HPC) inspections, which are among the most critical and time-consuming tasks in the engine&#8217;s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) process.
The new solution leverages advanced AI techniques to improve detection rates by about 34% and reduce false alerts by over 13% compared to the previous model.
This AI upgrade will be available in an upcoming software update for the Mentor Visual iQ+ video borescope later this year.
Nicole Jenkins, Chief MRO Engineer, GE Aerospace, said, &#8220;Collaborating with Waygate Technologies, we have successfully combined our industry domain knowledge and digital expertise to integrate new AI techniques with the right data to improve the detection capabilities of commercial engine borescope inspections.&#8221;
&#8220;This joint development illustrates a bigger effort to give our inspection engineers more advanced tools using AI, computer vision, and automation to help them work productively and meet the needs of our customers. GE Aerospace (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GE#NYSE">GE</a>) partnered with Lilium N.V. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LILM#NASDAQ">LILM</a>) to build a solid safety framework for eVTOLs <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/10/g41484550/lilium-ge-aerospace-partner-to-deliver-evtol-flight-safety" rel="noreferrer noopener">as they near commercial launch</a>.
As part of this partnership, GE Aerospace and Lilium will develop an OEM-level Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) or Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) program to oversee eVTOL safety across the entire fleet.
Additionally, the two companies will collaborate to offer a voluntary FDM program option for Lilium&#8217;s customers.
GE&#8217;s Event Measurement System platform will play a key role in Lilium&#8217;s aftermarket program, &#8220;POWER-ON,&#8221; which offers safe, efficient, and customer-focused solutions for Lilium Jet operators.
Through this platform, all Lilium customers will gain access to a suite of digital services designed to support daily operations with essential insights and actionable data.
Notably, eVTOLs are already in flight at dedicated demonstration and testing sites across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, with the first customer deliveries of the Lilium Jet expected in 2026. JP Morgan forecasts the market could reach up to $1 trillion by 2040.

Yesterday, GE Aerospace reported adjusted revenue growth of&nbsp;6%&nbsp;Y/Y to&nbsp;$8.943 billion&nbsp;and GAAP revenue of&nbsp;$9.84 billion. The&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/10/41450452/ge-aerospace-q3-earnings-orders-surge-lifts-earnings-outlook-more" rel="noreferrer noopener">analyst consensus was&nbsp;$9.022 billion</a>.

Goldman Sachs analyst Noah Poponak expresses their view on GE Aerospace&#8216;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GE#NYSE">GE</a>) <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/GE/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">third-quarter 2024 results</a>.
The company reported&nbsp;adjusted revenue growth of 6% Y/Y to $8.943 billion and GAAP revenue of $9.84 billion. The <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/10/41450452/ge-aerospace-q3-earnings-orders-surge-lifts-earnings-outlook-more" rel="noreferrer noopener">analyst consensus was $9.022 billion</a>.
GE still expects adjusted revenue growth in the high single digits. It now sees adjusted EPS of $4.20 – $4.35 (prior $3.95 – $4.20) <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">vs. the $4.25 consensus</a>.
The company now expects adjusted operating profit of $6.7 billion – $6.9 billion (prior $6.5 billion – $6.8 billion) and adjusted free cash flow of $5.6 billion – $5.8 billion (prior $5.3 billion – $5.6 billion).
The analyst writes that GE&#8217;s results are solid overall but mixed by segment. Market expectations were high, and segment EBIT fell short of consensus.
While commercial engines remain a key growth driver, the analyst says the defense segment underperformed due to lower revenue and margins.
Goldman Sachs rated the company &#8216;Buy&#8217;, with a price target of $201. The analyst expects EPS of $4.12 for FY24, $5.16 for FY25, and $6.30 for FY26.

In a prepared <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2024/10/17/statement-from-president-joe-biden-on-the-death-of-yahya-sinwar/">statement</a>, President Joe Biden said the IDF &#8220;relentlessly pursued Hamas's leaders&#8221; with the help of U.S. intelligence.
&#8220;There has rarely been a military campaign like this, with Hamas leaders living and moving through hundreds of miles of tunnels, organized in multiple stories underground, determined to protect themselves with no care for the civilians suffering above ground,&#8221; Biden said. 
&#8220;Today, however, proves once again that no terrorists anywhere in the world can escape justice, no matter how long it takes.&#8221;
Sinwar's body was retrieved after an exchange of fire on Wednesday, according to the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2024/10/17/world/israel-lebanon-iran-gaza-news?campaign_id=190&amp;emc=edit_ufn_20241017&amp;instance_id=137113&amp;nl=from-the-times&amp;regi_id=136109156&amp;segment_id=180692&amp;user_id=e415429009fa21c5b8b4141c24d72bca">New York Times</a>, citing Israeli authorities. His identity was verified using dental records and fingerprints that matched those on file, Israel Police said. There was no immediate response from Hamas regarding his death.

Why It Matters: Sinwar's killing marks a significant development in the yearlong conflict. 
So far, the war in Gaza devastated the region and its people. Despite being only 141 square miles, Gaza is home to over 2 million people. 
Gaza's health ministry reports over 41,000 deaths. Per the Associated Press, Gaza's health ministry <a href="https://apnews.com/article/israel-hamas-war-gaza-health-ministry-health-death-toll-59470820308b31f1faf73c703400b033">doesn't distinguish between civilians and combatants</a>. About 1.9 million Palestinians have been <a href="https://apnews.com/article/israel-palestinians-hamas-war-anniversary-statistics-e61765035c725b3c8d4840e2bab565cd">displaced</a>.

According to U.S. officials, Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin conveyed their concerns in a letter sent to Israeli officials on Sunday. The letter emphasized the urgent need for Israel to act, outlining specific measures that must be undertaken to alleviate the suffering of civilians in Gaza.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Key Points From US Letter: Aid, Humanitarian Action Required</h3>
The letter highlighted several steps that Israel must take to reverse the worsening situation in Gaza:

Herbert believes that the bear case for GE is &#8220;fading&#8221; amid efforts to derisk its balance sheet.

Aerospace Stocks Face Tough Questions: Can Boeing, GE, Airbus Justify Sky-High Valuations?

Boeing Company (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BA#NYSE">BA</a>) shares are trading higher on Tuesday. The company <a href="https://d18rn0p25nwr6d.cloudfront.net/CIK-0000012927/4d8edab4-f0b6-4cec-8b89-5b1f4a655cf8.pdf">inked</a> a $10 billion supplemental credit agreement <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/big-banks">with several big banks</a>.
Bank of America, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan are on board as joint lead arrangers and bookrunners.
Boeing plans to pay a 0.5% funding fee on each advance under the credit agreement and a 0.50%-1.00% duration fee on outstanding advances after 90 to 270 days.
Non-SOFR loans will accrue interest at the higher of Citibank's base rate, federal funds rate plus 0.50%, or Adjusted Term SOFR plus 1.00%, with an additional 0.375%-1.00%, based on Boeing's credit rating.
SOFR loans will bear interest at Adjusted Term SOFR plus 1.375%-2.00%. Commitments end in 120 days, with advances maturing in 364 days.
The credit agreement limits Boeing's debt to 60% of total capital. It also restricts liens to $250 million, and allows mergers only if Boeing is the surviving entity.
Apart from this, Boeing disclosed a mixed shelf offering of up to $25 billion, which includes Senior and Subordinated Debt Securities, <a target="_blank" href="https://d18rn0p25nwr6d.cloudfront.net/CIK-0000012927/8cf7f199-191c-4c3e-8056-b2914fea83e1.pdf" rel="noreferrer noopener">Common </a>Stock, and Preferred Stock.
This week, Boeing announced a 10% workforce reduction of approximately 17,000 jobs in <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/10/41319026/boeings-q3-earnings-face-turbulence-strikes-layoffs-safety-woes-ahead" rel="noreferrer noopener">an effort to stem financial losses</a>.

Boeing Shares Jump As Troubled Aerospace Company Inks $10B Supplemental Credit Agreement With Big Banks

United Nations Security Council members convened for an emergency session Wednesday in New York to address Israel, Lebanon, Iran and whether an all-out war in the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/middle-east">Middle East is preventable</a>.
What Happened: Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon, in his remarks to the UN Security Council, called Iran&#8217;s missile strike the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/24/10/41126038/iran-attacks-israel-with-missiles-middle-east-tensions-escalates-s-p-500-stocks-bitcoin-fall-as-oil">&#8220;largest&#8221; in Israel&#8217;s history</a>. 
&#8220;The council must understand the situation Israel is forced to live in. We are under attack,&#8221; Danon said, citing how holy sites were targeted. 
Israeli defense systems intercepted most of the 200 missiles Tuesday as they prepped for ground operations, the <a href="https://apnews.com/live/israel-lebanon-ground-operation-updates">Associated Press</a> reported.
&#8220;The world watched silently as Iran funded and directed attacks against us for the past year, arming and training their proxies for decades,&#8221; Danon added. &#8220;Now the world must step up. Iran must pay a heavy price for this attack. Anything less is complicity.&#8221;

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Bracing For Further Escalation</h3>
The UN meeting is taking place while Israeli troops&nbsp;battle Hezbollah militants&nbsp;inside Lebanon, making good on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu&#8216;s&nbsp;vow to retaliate, per <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-10-02/israel-vows-retaliation-for-massive-iranian-missile-attack">Bloomberg</a>.
The Israeli army Wednesday suffered at least eight fatalities since the ground operation began, CNN <a href="https://www.cnn.com/world/live-news/israel-iran-missile-attack-middle-east-10-02-24-intl-hnk#cm1rx3x98000e3b6qp2nmm7pn">reported</a> citing Israel Defense Forces. 
Iran launched the attack against Israel following the recent killing of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/41079860/israel-tightens-grip-hezbollah-leader-hassan-nasrallah-killed">Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah</a>. 
Since its formation in the early 1980s, Hezbollah — which the U.S. considers a terrorist organization — has received substantial support from Tehran, which views the group as an ally in advancing its influence in the Middle East.
The White House promised consequences for Iran's attack on Israel. On Tuesday, President Joe Biden reiterated at the start of a meeting with officials: &#8220;Make no mistake, the United States is fully, fully supportive of Israel.&#8221;
Market Reaction: Following the missile attacks from Iran on Israel, plus Tuesday&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/econ-s/24/10/41139919/private-sector-job-gains-outpace-forecasts-in-september-as-us-adds-143-000-jobs">job and economic data</a>, major stock indices dropped. As of early Tuesday afternoon:

<li>The S&amp;P 500 was down slightly by 0.08%. </li>
<li>The Dow Jones was down by 0.02%. </li>
<li>The Nasdaq was up by 0.09%. </li>

<li>The Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>), which tracks the Nasdaq 100, is up 0.22% to $482.33.</li>

&#8220;Financial markets have reacted as one would expect to the heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with a bout of risk aversion sweeping through asset classes in the past 24 hours,&#8221; said Matthew Ryan, head of market strategy and global financial services at Ebury.
Equity markets are trading lower and, in currencies, the safe-havens have outperformed most of their peers, he adds. This includes the U.S. dollar, which remains buoyed following some hawkish <a href="https://www.federalreserve.gov/newsevents/speech/powell20240930a.htm">comments</a> from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on Monday.
The conflict is also causing broader concerns for inflation and central bank policy. Higher oil prices could undermine the U.S. Federal Reserve&#8217;s efforts to control inflation, potentially delaying future interest rate cuts, per <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/stock-markets-slump-oil-jumps-as-iran-attack-sparks-fear-of-all-out-war-in-mideast/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Times of Israel</a>.
What To Look For: Ryan says investors are &#8220;rightly fearful&#8221; that Israel&#8217;s retaliation could disrupt oil supplies. After all, Iran is the seventh-largest oil producer in the world. 
The price of gold and oil both spiked higher after the attack. The United States Oil Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/USO#NYSE">USO</a>) was trading slightly higher on the day at $72.13 at last check while the SPDR Gold Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GLD#NYSE">GLD</a>) is down 0.11% to $245.33 Wednesday. 
&#8220;The wider implication for markets is the rising possibility of a sharp move higher in global oil futures, and another period of elevated energy prices and consumer inflation,&#8221; Ryan says.
The ramifications will not be &#8220;anywhere near as severe&#8221; as those that followed Russia&#8217;s invasion of Ukraine, Ryan adds. &#8220;So far, at least, the moves in markets have been relatively contained.&#8221;

On Wednesday, RTX Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RTX#NYSE">RTX</a>) said Raytheon has secured a three-year, two-phase contract from DARPA to develop foundational<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/10/n41126763/rtxs-pratt-whitney-opens-its-largest-military-engines-facility-in-oklahoma-city" rel="noreferrer noopener"> ultra-wide bandgap semiconductors.</a>
These will be based on diamond and aluminum nitride technology, which revolutionizes semiconductor electronics by increasing power delivery and thermal management in sensors and other electronic applications.
In phase one of the contract, the Raytheon Advanced Technology team will develop diamond and aluminum nitride semiconductor films and integrate them into electronic devices.
Phase two will focus on optimizing and advancing this technology for larger diameter wafers intended for sensor applications.
&#8220;Raytheon has extensive proven experience developing similar materials such as Gallium Arsenide and Gallium Nitride for Department of Defense systems,&#8221; said&nbsp;Colin Whelan, president of Advanced Technology at Raytheon.

It is important for investors to look ahead and not in the rearview mirror.
Consider continuing to hold good, very long term, existing positions. Based on individual risk preference, consider a protection band consisting of cash or Treasury bills or short-term tactical trades as well as short to medium term hedges and short term hedges. This is a good way to protect yourself and participate in the upside at the same time.
You can determine your protection bands by adding cash to hedges. The high band of the protection is appropriate for those who are older or conservative. The low band of the protection is appropriate for those who are younger or aggressive. If you do not hedge, the total cash level should be more than stated above but significantly less than cash plus hedges.
A protection band of 0% would be very bullish and would indicate full investment with 0% in cash. A protection band of 100% would be very bearish and would indicate a need for aggressive protection with cash and hedges or aggressive short selling.
It is worth reminding that you cannot take advantage of new upcoming opportunities if you are not holding enough cash.  When adjusting hedge levels, consider adjusting partial stop quantities for stock positions (non ETF); consider using wider stops on remaining quantities and also allowing more room for high beta stocks. High beta stocks are the ones that move more than the market.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Traditional 60/40 Portfolio</h3>
Probability based risk reward adjusted for inflation does not favor long duration strategic bond allocation at this time.
Those who want to stick to traditional 60% allocation to stocks and 40% to bonds may consider focusing on only high quality bonds and bonds of five year duration or less.&nbsp; Those willing to bring sophistication to their investing may consider using bond ETFs as tactical positions and not strategic positions at this time.

Israel has been conducting targeted raids into southern Lebanon as part of efforts to push Hezbollah away from its northern border. These operations, described as intelligence-gathering and probing missions, come ahead of a potential broader ground incursion.
Hezbollah deputy leader Naim Qassem <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/hezbollah-deputy-leader-vows-terror-group-prepared-to-face-potential-idf-ground-op/">asserted</a> that the group is prepared for a prolonged conflict if Israeli troops enter by land, per the Times of Israel. 
Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati does not share the same sentiment and continues to call for a ceasefire.

On Monday, Reuters reported that the Lebanese government is looking to end Hezbollah&#8217;s armed presence south of the Litani River by invoking UN Security Council Resolution 1701. 
UNSC Resolution 1701 was adopted unanimously back in August 2006, ending the previous war between Hezbollah and Israel. 
The effectiveness of the resolution today depends on the political and military context, and the cooperation of the involved parties, particularly Israel, Hezbollah, and the international community.
It called for a cessation of hostilities and outlined a framework for a lasting peace between the parties involved.
Mikati is looking to elect a new president once a ceasefire occurs, ending a nearly two-year vacancy at the top post.

What Happened: President Joe Biden &#8220;decided to provide Ukraine with the Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) long-range munition,&#8221; according to a White House <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2024/09/26/statement-from-president-joe-biden-on-u-s-support-for-ukraine/">statement </a>on Thursday. 
But the New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/26/us/politics/us-ukraine-strikes.html?nl=the-morning&amp;regi_id=136109156&amp;segment_id=178988">reports</a> U.S. intelligence agencies are assessing the risks of such a scenario.
Western allies face the potential threat of Russian-led attacks if those long-range missiles are <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/ukraine">aimed at certain targets</a> deep inside Russia.
The discussions were at the center of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy&#8216;s visit to the U.S. this past week in which he met with Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
A meeting between Zelenskyy and ex-President Donald Trump is reportedly taking place on Friday in New York.
Ukraine Winter: The Russia-Ukraine war began on Feb. 24, 2022, when Russia launched a full-scale invasion.
Since then, Russia has bombarded critical power infrastructure across Ukraine — the latest attack being on Thursday, per Reuters. Such tactics, considered war crimes, leave Ukraine&#8217;s citizens vulnerable heading into the winter months. 
&#8220;Due to ongoing attacks on civil infrastructure, front-line movements, mass displacements and disruptions of access to essential health-care services, the war's impacts, compounded by winter, can increase the risk of excess cold-related morbidity and mortality,&#8221; according to a Thursday <a href="https://www.who.int/europe/publications/i/item/WHO-EURO-2024-2946-42704-59552">report</a> from the World Health Organization.
Germany agreed to provide a $78 million winter aid package to help Ukraine maintain heat and electricity.
Federal Development Minister Svenja Schulze <a href="https://defence-industry.eu/germany-supports-ukraine-with-arms-and-winter-package/">said</a> Germany&#8217;s support aligns with national interests, as Ukraine&#8217;s defense also protects European security.
"We are supporting Ukraine in its efforts to rebuild a decentralised power supply infrastructure, as Russia will then not be able to destroy it so easily," he added.
Russia&#8217;s invasion affected oil and gas pipeline relations with Germany and Ukraine starting in 2022. Why It Matters: In the U.S., Democrats and Republicans are at odds over whether to provide aid at all to Zelenskyy. 
Harris, the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee, met with Zelenskyy and criticized those suggesting Ukraine should cede territory for peace. Her comments were seen as a veiled jab at <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/21/01/19152983/donald-trump-is-the-first-us-president-to-be-impeached-twice">twice-impeached former President</a> Trump, who often <a href="https://apnews.com/article/trump-zelenskyy-ukraine-russia-6e02fc7575a14d9abb64a326ffd0a4a3">derides</a> efforts to help Ukraine.
At a North Carolina event Wednesday, Trump said Ukraine was &#8220;demolished&#8221; and should have conceded to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-ukraine-putin-zelenskyy-0f4d539aa73a943474d779716e5fe42a">Associated Press</a> reported.

A significant Ukrainian drone assault on Russia caused an <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/24/09/40888451/russia-to-expand-army-for-third-time-since-war-with-ukraine-began-defense-stocks-rtx-northrop-grumma">earthquake-sized eruption</a> at a major arsenal in the Tver region on Wednesday, forcing citizens in the city of Toropets to evacuate, according to reports from war bloggers and some media.
Unverified video and images on social media showed a huge ball of flame rising into the night sky and numerous explosion detonations tearing across a lake about 240 miles west of Moscow, Reuters reported.
NASA satellites registered intense heat sources coming from an area of about five square miles at the site in the early hours. Earthquake monitoring stations picked up the attack as a small earthquake&nbsp;in the area.
&#8220;The enemy hit an ammunition depot in the area of Toropets,&#8221; said Yuri Podolyaka, a Ukrainian-born, pro-Russian military blogger. &#8220;Everything that can burn is already burning there (and exploding).&#8221;

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking in his nightly video address, praised the attack without mentioning the target.
&#8220;A very important result was achieved last night on Russian territory and such actions weaken the enemy,&#8221; Zelenskyy said. &#8220;I thank everyone involved. Such precision is truly inspiring.&#8221;
A source in Ukraine&#8217;s SBU state security service told Reuters earlier that the drone attack had destroyed&nbsp;a warehouse storing missiles, guided bombs and artillery ammunition.
Igor Rudenya, governor of the Tver region, said Ukrainian drones had been shot down, a fire had broken out and some residents were being evacuated. He did not say what was burning, Reuters reported.
The size of the main blast shown in the unverified social media video was consistent with 200 to 240 tons of high explosives detonating, said George William Herbert of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey in California.
Some war bloggers asked how drones could trigger such large blasts at what was thought to be a highly fortified facility.

Ukrainian Drone Attack Causes Earth-Rattling Blast In Russia's Tver Region

The Boeing Company&#8216;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BA#NYSE">BA</a>) credit rating may be <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40763846/boeing-and-iam-union-strike-deal-potentially-averting-major-strike">lowered to junk </a>as a strike stands to cripple production and cash flow.
Aircraft assembly workers walked off the job early Friday morning after <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40853982/boeings-stock-falls-as-33-000-aircraft-assembly-workers-strike">rejecting a contract</a> offer presented by Boeing and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) that would have boosted wages by 25% over four years.&nbsp;
The striking machinists produce the 737 Max, Boeing's top-selling airliner, the 777 jet and the 767 cargo plane. The walkout likely will not stop production of Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which are built by nonunion workers in South Carolina, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/boeing-strike-machinists-contract-9f61a7d48675d1c3517233d40d4ec2b1">reported</a>.
Jefferies aerospace analyst Sheila Kahyaoglu estimated a 30-day strike could cost Boeing $1.5 billion.
Moody&#8217;s Investment Ratings on Friday said it will look at how a prolonged strike may impact Boeing&#8217;s ability to raise cash and make the 737 and 787 models.

&#8220;We will also assess the extent to which the strike and ongoing challenges in increasing production of the 737 and 787 aircraft models affect the timing of growth in production rates and the pace and scale of improvements in Boeing&#8217;s operating cash flow.&#8221;
Moody&#8217;s said it will also consider the costs for Boeing to complete the fixed price contracts in the defense business, which will continue to be a drain on earnings and operating cash flow.
Moody&#8217;s rating on Boeing's unsecured debt has stood at Baa3 since April, the lowest rating for the stock to be considered investment grade. 
A downgrade to Boeing&#8217;s credit rating would put it in non-investment grade, or &#8220;junk,&#8221; territory.
Moody&#8217;s noted that Boeing&#8217;s annual free cash flow will fall short of $4 billion in debt coming due in 2025 and the $8 billion due in 2026.
&#8220;The path to restoring compliance, higher quality and strong cash flow in its commercial aircraft assembly operations remains fraught with execution risk,&#8221; Moody&#8217;s said.
Moody&#8217;s pointed out that the IAM members&#8217; 57-day strike in 2008 cost Boeing around $1.5 billion per month, at a time when 737 production was at its then-normal production rate of about 34 per month.
Price Action: Shares of Boeing were down 3.4% to $157.23 at the time of publication Friday.
