"It allows for debate and discussion on this critical end-market,&#8221; he added. 
Arya noted that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>), the world's largest semiconductor buyer, was also excluded from tariff pressure during Trump&#8217;s first term.
Arya reaffirmed a bullish stance on chipmakers with exposure to artificial intelligence and reshoring themes, including Nvidia Corp. "We expect over time for TSMC to front-end process most—if not all—semis required by its U.S. fabless customers within its Arizona fabs," Arya said, adding that a potential Intel-TSMC joint venture could further boost domestic chip output.

"Semis remain a high beta sector and exposed to volatility," Arya said. However, he expects companies tied to AI and infrastructure to remain well-positioned to deliver on earnings expectations.
One risk Arya flagged is the upcoming May 15 compliance deadline for new U.S. rules governing the export of AI chips, which could limit shipments outside a small group of 19 &#8220;Tier 1&#8221; nations.
Still, with the delay in electronics tariffs offering space for negotiation, investors appear to be betting that the worst-case trade scenarios for U.S. chipmakers could be avoided, at least for now.

Cruise line operator Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. A slate of new attractions and facilities is scheduled to open by late 2025.

President Donald Trump has attacked units of media company Paramount Global (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PARA#NASDAQ">PARA</a>)(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PARAA#NASDAQ">PARAA</a>) and is urging the FCC to fine and punish CBS as the company works to<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/entertainment/24/07/39668270/paramount-analysts-size-up-merger-skydance-aims-for-earnings-not-a-breakup-redstone-says-co"> complete its merger </a>with Skydance Media.
What Happened: Trump took to his Truth Social media platform over the weekend to attack CBS newsmagazine "60 Minutes," which has been the target of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/02/43579254/trump-vs-cbs-president-threatens-license-over-fraud-and-claims-of-edited-kamala-harris-interview">several recent attacks</a> from the president.
"This weekend's ‘BROADCAST' tops them all. They did not one, but TWO major stories on ‘TRUMP,' one having to do with Ukraine, which I say is a War that would never have happened if the 2020 Election had not been RIGGED, in other words, if I were President and, the other story was having to do with Greenland, casting our Country, as led by me, falsely, inaccurately, and fraudulently," Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114333660655935996">said </a>in his post.
The president said he was "honored" to be suing 60 Minutes, CBS and Paramount for their "fraudulent, beyond recognition, reporting."
Trump previously <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/politics/24/11/41703649/trump-sues-cbs-for-10b-says-harris-interview-intended-to-mislead-the-public">sued the news magazine </a>and media company over their interview with 2024 presidential election candidate Kamala Harris.
The president said that "60 Minutes" is not a news show but a "political operative simply disguised as news."
Trump is encouraging Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr, whom he appointed, to hold the company responsible for "what they have done."
"CBS is out of control, at levels never seen before, and they should pay a big price for this," Trump said. He added that he hopes Carr "will impose the maximum fines and punishment" for the company's alleged "unlawful and illegal behavior."
According to <a href="https://deadline.com/2025/04/trump-60-minutes-cbs-1236367575/">Deadline</a>, the weekend&#8217;s two "60 Minutes" segments were "pretty standard." One segment featured an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the other featured a journalist interviewing residents of Greenland who oppose the U.S. annexation of the country.

Why It's Important: Trump's latest attack on CBS and "60 Minutes" follows a $20 billion lawsuit against the company for allegedly editing the Kamala Harris interview.
The comments also come with Paramount looking to close its merger with Skydance, which faces regulatory hurdles.
While CBS denied wrongdoing, it is pursuing a mediator to settle Trump's original lawsuit, which could be a move to push the merger forward.
Trump's attack on CBS could pressure Carr and the FCC to punish the network and potentially block the merger to further punish the company. These moves come despite Trump ally Larry Ellison being set to gain majority control of the new media company if the merger goes through.
The merger deadline between Paramount and Skydance expired on April 7 and was automatically extended for 90 days. With Trump putting pressure on CBS and the FCC once again, Paramount may be forced to settle its pending lawsuit with Trump to get its merger through under its current deadline.
PARA Price Action: Paramount stock trades at $10.72 on Monday versus a 52-week trading range of $9.54 to $14.54. Paramount stock is up 1.4% year-to-date in 2025.

<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/VERV" rel="noreferrer noopener">Verve Therapeutics Inc</a> (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/VERV#NASDAQ">VERV</a>) on Monday released initial data from the Heart-2 Phase 1b trial of VERVE-102 in patients with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) and/or premature coronary artery disease (CAD), which requires reducing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/health-care" rel="noreferrer noopener">levels in the blood</a>.
VERVE-102 was well-tolerated among 14 participants across three dose levels. No treatment-related serious adverse events (SAEs) and no clinically significant laboratory <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/04/g44785340/verve-therapeutics-announces-positive-initial-data-from-the-heart-2-phase-1b-clinical-trial-of-ver" rel="noreferrer noopener">abnormalities were observed</a>.
A single infusion of VERVE-102 led to dose-dependent decreases in blood PCSK9 protein (regulates cholesterol metabolism) levels and LDL-C, with a mean reduction in blood LDL-C of 53% and a maximum LDL-C reduction of 69% observed among four participants in the 0.6 mg/kg dose cohort.
VERVE-102 is a novel,&nbsp;in vivo, investigational base editing medicine designed to be a single-course treatment that permanently turns off the&nbsp;PCSK9&nbsp;gene in the liver and durably reduces disease-driving LDL-C.
<ul>
<li>VERVE-102 comprises an adenine base editor and a guide RNA (gRNA) targeting the&nbsp;PCSK9&nbsp;gene. Both are encapsulated in a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) and administered as a single intravenous infusion over two to four hours.</li>
</ul>
VERVE-102 has been well-tolerated, with no treatment-related SAEs, dose-limiting toxicities, or cardiovascular events observed.
Following a single infusion of VERVE-102, dose-dependent reductions in two pharmacodynamic (PD) measures were observed: blood LDL-C and PCSK9 protein levels.
<ul>
<li>Cohort 1; 0.3 mg/kg (n=4): LDL-C reduction was 21% and PCSK9 reduction was 46%.</li>
<li>Cohort 2; 0.45 mg/kg (n=6): LDL-C reduction was 41% and PCSK9 reduction was 53%.</li>
<li>Cohort 3; 0.6 mg/kg (n=4): LDL-C reduction was 53% and PCSK9 reduction was 60%.</li>
</ul>
Across all 14 participants, VERVE-102 demonstrated a strong dose-dependent response between the amount of total RNA administered and LDL-C reductions.
The Heart-2 trial is enrolling participants in the fourth dose cohort of 0.7 mg/kg. Verve has dosed two participants in this cohort.

<li>Verve expects to announce the final data from the dose escalation portion of the Heart-2 clinical trial, including durability data, in the second half of 2025.</li>
<li>Verve plans to dose the first patient in the Phase 2 clinical trial of VERVE-102 in the second half of 2025, subject to regulatory clearance.</li>
</ul>
Verve expects its current capital position to be sufficient to fund its operations into mid-2027, which includes the completion of the Phase 2 clinical trial.
Under the PCSK9 program collaboration agreement with Verve, Eli Lilly And Co (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LLY#NYSE">LLY</a>) holds the right to opt-in to share worldwide development expenses (33% contributed by Lilly) and to jointly commercialize and share profits and expenses related to commercialization in the U.S. on a 50/50 basis.

<li>Verve retains control of the development and commercialization of all collaboration products in the U.S., and Verve holds all product rights outside the U.S.</li>
<li>Verve expects to deliver the opt-in package for the PCSK9 program and receive a decision from Lilly in the second half of 2025.</li>

Last week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted Fast Track designation to VERVE-102 for hyperlipidemia and high lifetime cardiovascular risk to reduce low-density lipoprotein <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/04/g44757920/verve-therapeutics-receives-u-s-fda-fast-track-designation-for-verve-102-an-in-vivo-base-editing-m" rel="noreferrer noopener">cholesterol (LDL-C)</a>.
