What Happened: On Wednesday, crude oil prices soared over 4% amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran, prompting Washington to evacuate non-emergency personnel from its bases and embassies located across the Middle East region. 
President Donald Trump announced that U.S. personnel stationed in the Middle East were being moved out, because &#8220;it could be a dangerous place.&#8221;
Trump further expressed his doubts regarding whether the U.S. and Iran could reach a nuclear deal, saying that &#8220;they can&#8217;t have a nuclear weapon, very simple.&#8221;

Brent crude futures reacted swiftly to the news, rallying 4.81% during the day and ending at $69.81 per barrel. The commodity crossed $70 on Thursday, but has since witnessed a pullback, currently trading at $69.46 per barrel, down 0.46% at the time of writing this.
Why It Matters: News of the evacuation <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/topics/25/06/45893521/us-embassy-evacuations-spark-middle-east-risks-and-markets-are-noticing">took a toll</a> on the markets, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average&nbsp;dropping nearly 300 points from its earlier peak of 43,115, dipping to 42,860 late in the session.
The rise in crude oil prices lifted ETFs that track the commodity, such as the United States Oil Fund LP (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/USO#NYSE">USO</a>), which soared 4.50% on Wednesday, followed by the ProShares Ultra Bloomberg Crude Oil (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UCO#NYSE">UCO</a>) and the SPDR S&amp;P Oil &amp; Gas Exploration &amp; Production ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XOP#NYSE">XOP</a>), up 6.56% and 1.90%, respectively.

&#8216;Former Google chief executive Eric Schmidt says the world doesn&#8217;t have a good understanding of artificial intelligence's social fallout, yet any attempt to block the technology will ensure we "ultimately lose."
What Happened: Speaking at SCSP's Exchange 2025 forum on Tuesday, Schmidt urged students and policymakers alike to "figure out what autonomy looks like" and "what intelligence looks like" before AI permeates every facet of life.
He pointed to Princeton sophomores writing novel reinforcement-learning code, which he hails as &#8220;an enormous asset for America,&#8221; to illustrate how fast the talent pipeline is maturing. That ingenuity, he added, will "change biology… physics and chemistry" and ultimately remake "kind of everything in our as-built world," from energy grids to drug discovery.
Recalling lessons from the late Henry Kissinger, his longtime co-author on The Age of AI, Schmidt said society will greet non-human intelligence as either "something magical… or something to fight."

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) CEO Elon Musk has called on the European authorities to approve the EV giant's FSD or Full Self-Driving technology as Tesla gears itself up for <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/tech/25/06/45876375/elon-musk-says-tesla-robotaxi-rides-begin-june-22-in-austin-full-self-driving-to-enable-home-delivery-by-june-28-were-being-super-paranoid">June 22's Robotaxi launch</a> in Austin.
What Happened: "Waiting for Dutch authorities and then the EU to approve," the billionaire said as he quoted a post on social media platform X on Wednesday.
Musk then went on to say it was "very frustrating" to wait for the authorities to approve FSD tech in the region and that it "hurts the safety of people." He then added that using Tesla's advanced autopilot when driving "results in four times fewer injuries!"

"Please ask your governing authorities to accelerate making Tesla safer in Europe," Musk concluded, calling upon people to put pressure on the authorities to approve FSD technology.
Why It Matters: Musk's comments come in as Tesla is gearing up to launch the Robotaxi service in Austin. A cryptocurrency named after GameStop Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GME#NYSE">GME</a>) blasted to triple-digit gains Wednesday after the video game retailer announced plans to raise over a billion dollars for investment purposes.
What happened: BNB Chain (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/bnb/usd">BNB</a>)-based GameStop Coin (GME) soared a whopping 532% in the last 24 hours, defying the broader market correction. The memecoin recorded a significant surge in trader interest, with volume jumping by 53%.
GME outperformed blue-chip cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) and Dogecoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/doge/usd">DOGE</a>), which fell 1.21% and 2.30%, respectively.
Note that the token is unrelated to GameStop and merely seeks to capitalize on the hype surrounding the meme stock.

In a March blog post written for government customers, Microsoft revealed plans to introduce a version of its Copilot AI tool tailored for the Pentagon and other high-security government clients by the summer of 2025.
Pentagon did not immediately respond to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benzinga</a>'s request for comment.
Why It Matters: The tool, part of Microsoft 365, is designed to automate tasks and enhance productivity across platforms like Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
"Work is ongoing to ensure the offering meets the necessary security and compliance standards," Microsoft stated, highlighting the significant effort involved in adapting the tool for DoD environments.

Trump Launches Aviation Overhaul: Archer, Joby, New Horizon, AeroVironment Rally As US Targets Drone, eVTOL, Supersonic Comeback

TikTok's lawyer, Bill Batchelor, criticized the method as "inaccurate" and "discriminatory," claiming that the user count was inflated by double-counting users who switch between devices.
TikTok also argued that the fee unfairly includes costs for other platforms and exceeds the legally mandated fee cap.
In defense, Commission lawyer Lorna Armati stated that group profits were the correct reference point for calculating the fee, arguing that the companies had adequate information to understand the methodology and that the Commission's approach complied with legal standards, the report said.
