<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/entertainment/25/06/46122235/mark-zuckerberg-hated-the-social-network-film-dont-tell-him-a-sequel-is-coming">A sequel to</a> "The Social Network" will likely require recasting the role of Mark Zuckerberg. 
What Happened: Jesse Eisenberg, who portrayed Zuckerberg in &#8220;The Social Network,&#8221; has reportedly declined to reprise the role. 
Jeremy Allen White, best known for acting roles on "Shameless" and "The Bear," is in talks to play the Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) CEO, according to a <a href="https://variety.com/2025/film/news/mikey-madison-jeremy-allen-white-social-network-sequel-1236475144/">report </a>from Variety. 
Mikey Madison, who won the Best Actress Academy Award last year for &#8220;Anora,&#8221; is also in talks for a role.
According to the report, writer and director Aaron Sorkin, who wrote the screenplay of the original 2010 film, met with both Madison and White about roles in the film.
Sony Group Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SONY#NYSE">SONY</a>), which produced &#8220;The Social Network,&#8221; has not officially announced the project. 
Sony declined to comment to Variety. 
David Fincher directed the 2010 film; he is not expected to return for the sequel.
White has received critical acclaim and awards for his role on "The Bear." He also took on the role of legendary musician Bruce Springsteen in the biopic, "Deliver Me from Nowhere." The film is set for an Oct. 24, 2025 theatrical release and will feature White singing all the songs.
The actor could end up playing a character different than Zuckerberg, as it said he was in line for a lead role, but didn't specify which character.
Meanwhile, the Hollywood Reporter <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/the-social-network-jeremy-strong-mark-zuckerberg-1236334480/">reports</a> that actor Jeremy Strong is also being considered to play Zuckerberg.
Strong is best known for his role on "Succession" and in the recent Donald Trump biopic "The Apprentice.&#8221;

Why It's Important: &#8220;The Social Network&#8221; focused on the early creation days of Meta Platforms, then known as Facebook. Eisenberg portrayed Zuckerberg in his early years as co-founder of the company.
The new film will center on a series of articles published by the Wall Street Journal in 2021. The so-called "Facebook Files" exposed the company as a harmful platform for children and teens, along with being a source of misinformation.
The film may also explore Facebook's alleged role in misinformation contributing to political violence like the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
"The Social Network" earned eight Academy Award nominations and saw Sorkin win for Best Adapted Screenplay. The film grossed $97 million domestically and $225 million worldwide at the box office, according to Box Office Mojo.
Zuckerberg <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/21/10/23381351/5-things-you-might-not-know-about-facebooks-mark-zuckerberg-2">was not a fan</a> of "The Social Network" and will likely distance himself from the sequel.

These findings include the company's first evidence of efficacy against the clinically significant KRAS Q61H <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/07/g46757839/silexion-therapeutics-announces-new-preclinical-data-showing-up-to-97-inhibition-of-cancer-cell-gr" rel="noreferrer noopener">mutation in human cancer cells</a>.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key Findings</h2>
SIL204 demonstrated dose-dependent inhibition of up to 94% in pancreatic cancer cells harboring KRAS G12D mutations at nanomolar concentrations.
SIL204 showed comparable efficacy of approximately 97% inhibition in pancreatic cancer cells with KRAS Q61H mutations, a variant not previously reported in the company's studies.
SIL204 produced an inhibition rate of nearly 90% in colorectal cancer cells with KRAS G12D mutations, extending previous evidence of its effectiveness beyond pancreatic cancer
The announcement comes just days after Silexion reported significant efficacy of SIL204 in lung cancer cell lines, validating the company's innovative lipid-conjugated delivery system.
In July, Silexion shared new preclinical data demonstrating SIL204's significant efficacy in human <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/07/g46316927/silexion-therapeutics-announces-positive-results-in-preclinical-study-demonstrating-significant-si" rel="noreferrer noopener">lung cancer cell lines</a>.
The study revealed significant dose-dependent inhibition in lung cancer cells harboring KRAS G12D mutations, with notable efficacy, highlighting SIL204's potential as a versatile therapeutic for lung cancer.
The results also support Silexion's lipid-conjugated delivery system for enhancing SIL204 drug entrance into tumor cells.
Silexion continues to prepare for the initiation of a Phase 2/3 clinical trial in Q2 2026 to investigate SIL204 for the treatment of KRAS-driven solid tumor cancers, leveraging both intratumoral and systemic delivery approaches as part of the company's dual-route administration strategy.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How To Buy SLXN Stock</h2>

Why Is Silexion Therapeutics Stock Trading Higher On Thursday?

Robinhood Markets shares are trading lower following the release of its Q2 financial results.

Lam Research (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LRCX#NASDAQ">LRCX</a>) delivered <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/07/46748601/lam-research-stock-dips-over-5-in-premarket-trading-whats-happening">stronger-than-expected earnings</a> and raised its full-year guidance, driven by robust demand from China that defied broader industry headwinds. 
However, despite the upbeat tone and improved outlook, shares of the chipmaking equipment giant fell more than 5% in Thursday trading, as investors questioned the durability of growth driven largely by a geopolitically sensitive region.
In its fiscal fourth quarter, Lam reported adjusted earnings of $1.33 per share on revenue of $5.171 billion, both figures surpassing Wall Street estimates of $1.20 and $4.997 billion, respectively.

The company also issued an optimistic forecast for the first quarter of fiscal 2026, projecting adjusted EPS in the range of $1.10 to $1.30 on revenue between $4.9 billion and $5.5 billion, well above consensus estimates of $0.98 and $4.607 billion.
Driving the outperformance was a sharp uptick in orders from China, prompting Lam to revise its 2025 wafer fabrication equipment (WFE) market forecast upward from $100 billion to $105 billion. Analysts noted that the company's momentum in China now sets it apart from peers, particularly as consensus had expected the region's WFE spend to decline this year.
Needham analyst Charles Shi, who maintained a Buy rating and lifted his <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/LRCX/analyst-ratings">price forecast</a> from $110 to $115, described the quarter as a "strong beat-and-raise," underscored by demand in China and renewed multinational investment.
According to Shi, China accounted for over 35% of Lam's revenue in the second quarter, up from 31% in the first quarter, and is expected to remain at that level in the third quarter.
Shi also pointed to a $700 million sequential increase in deferred revenue as a clear sign of an expanding backlog, with over $1 billion in China-related orders expected to be fulfilled in the second half of 2025. 
However, management's early read on the calendar fourth quarter suggests a potential revenue pullback toward earlier-year levels, signaling that the China-driven surge may be nearing its peak. This dynamic, Shi warned, could add fuel to ongoing concerns that Lam is "overearning" in the Chinese market.
Still, Shi raised his 2025 EPS estimate by 4% and bumped his 2026 revenue forecast by 2%, citing the stronger-than-expected baseline. Yet he acknowledged the market's growing skepticism over whether Lam's performance represents structural strength or a short-lived spike in demand.
Goldman Sachs analyst James Schneider echoed that ambivalence. While reiterating a Buy rating and $115 price forecast, Schneider noted that Lam's results were impressive across the board, not merely a China story. 
He acknowledged investor positioning had already been bullish heading into the print, possibly limiting the upside reaction despite the beat.
Schneider highlighted rising demand in both logic and memory segments as contributing to the revenue beat. China sales rose to 35% of total revenue, supported by both domestic firms and record multinational investments. 
Lam's updated WFE forecast is in line with Goldman's projections, and the company expects spending in the second half of 2025 to remain flat versus the first half.
Looking ahead, Schneider believes Lam is well-positioned to outperform peers, thanks to its strong foothold in deposition and etch technologies, critical processes in advanced semiconductor manufacturing, as well as its exposure to NAND and High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). 
He sees the company's NAND upgrade momentum, particularly as memory suppliers increase layer counts, as a structural tailwind through 2026.
