TSN reported a 9.1% Chicken EBIT margin in the first quarter, surpassing the analyst&#8217;s 6.5% forecast, marking its <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/02/43432806/tyson-foods-posts-q1-earnings-protein-conscious-customers-drive-demand-ceo-calls-it-best-quarter-in-2-years" rel="noreferrer noopener">best quarter since the second quarter of FY2018.</a>
The company achieved a Chicken order fill rate of over 98%, thanks to improvements in scheduling and execution that better aligned production with demand.
Tyson Foods also reduced waste in its plants. Both retail and food service segments are expanding, with strong performance in its value-added portfolio. Additionally, it reintroduced fully cooked products in retail during the first quarter.
The analyst forecasts a 7.4% Chicken EBIT margin for F25, though feed cost benefits are expected to diminish in later quarters.
Cattle supply remains limited, and price spreads are narrow, but prices have stayed high due to stronger-than-expected consumer demand, said the analyst.
The analyst anticipates that heifer retention may increase, which would be beneficial for herd rebuilding in the long run, but could reduce near-term supply and potentially pressure margins further.
On February 1, 2025, President Trump announced that the U.S. would impose a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/25/02/43423288/trumps-tariffs-are-here-heres-what-will-get-more-expensive-from-canada-china-and-mexico" rel="noreferrer noopener">25% tariff on all imports</a> from Canada and Mexico, effective February 4, 2025.
However, U.S. and Mexico have agreed to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/regulations/25/02/43440692/us-mexico-agrees-on-one-month-tariffs-pause-stocks-rebound-peso-rallies" rel="noreferrer noopener">postpone the tariffs</a> for a month to focus on combating the fentanyl trade.

Tyson Foods exports a limited amount of chicken products to Canada and sends around 2.5% of its pork sales, along with some chicken leg quarters, to Mexico. Additionally, it imports feeder cows and hogs from Canada.
Tyson Foods is prepared to adjust to any tariffs, with contingency plans in place to pivot to other markets quickly, opined the analyst.
While the analyst expects solid EBIT for the second and third quarters, the outlook for future quarters remains uncertain. The analyst has raised the FY25 EPS estimate from $3.45 to $3.93 but kept the FY26 EPS at $4.55 and the target price at $58.

The Productivity category of Apps has been the fastest growing segment in the second quarter, with revenues rising +48% after 36 days. The growth in Productivity app revenue to Apple in the quarter has been driven by ChatGPT, which has seen daily active users grow from ~5.5 million in the first 36 days of the second quarter of fiscal 2024 to more than 15 million in the first 36 days of second-quarter of fiscal 2025.
So far, in the second quarter of fiscal 2025, App Store gaming revenue increased +12% to $1.7 billion, accounting for only 51% of total App Store revenue versus 53% a year ago. So far in the quarter, the second largest segment has been Entertainment (14%), Photo and video (7%), Social Networking (4%), Productivity (3%), and Other (21%).
Mohan noted strong diversification in app store revenue by category away from the Gaming segment as more developers from other categories monetize apps.
Apple noted that certain EU apps that do not conform to Apple&#8217;s standard of scrutiny over content are available to download. This ability to sideload apps is a result of the EU DMA restrictions, which might compromise user safety.
Mohan modeled services revenue growth of +12% for total services revenue in the second quarter of fiscal 2025 and +13% in fiscal 2025, which could be conservative if App Store strength persists.

Alphabet Earnings Are Imminent; These Most Accurate Analysts Revise Forecasts Ahead Of Earnings Call

Fabrinet (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FN#NYSE">FN</a>) reported upbeat second-quarter <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/FN/earnings">results on Monday</a>.
Revenue was $833.6 million, beating the consensus of $814.3 million. Adjusted EPS of $2.61 exceeded the consensus of $2.50.
"Our telecom performance was very strong and benefited from both increasing demand for datacenter interconnect products as well as early progress from recent systems wins," Seamus Grady, Chief Executive Officer of Fabrinet, said. "While datacom demand has slightly moderated near-term we continue to anticipate more rapid growth as next-generation products ramp production. With several positive trends, we are very optimistic as we look to the third quarter and beyond."
Fabrinet expects third-quarter FY25 revenue of $850 million – $870 million, surpassing street view of $825.72 million. The company also projects adjusted EPS of $2.55 – $2.63 vs. street view of $2.55.
Fabrinet shares fell 9.6% to trade at $203.79 on Tuesday.

Analysts expect the California-based company to report quarterly earnings at $2.13 per share, up from $1.64 per share in the year-ago period. Alphabet projects quarterly revenue of $96.65 billion, compared to $86.31 billion a year earlier, according to data from Benzinga Pro.
The company has beaten analyst estimates for revenue in seven straight quarters and topped analyst expectations for earnings per share in seven straight quarters.
With the recent buzz around Alphabet, some investors may be eyeing potential gains from the company's dividends too. At the moment, Alphabet offers an annual dividend yield of 0.39%, which is a quarterly dividend amount of 20 cents per share (80 cents a year).
To figure out how to earn $500 monthly from Alphabet, we start with the yearly target of $6,000 ($500 x 12 months).
Next, we take this amount and divide it by Alphabet's $0.80 dividend: $6,000 / $0.80 = 7,500 shares.
So, an investor would need to own approximately $1,509,225 worth of Alphabet, or 7,500 shares to generate a monthly dividend income of $500.
Assuming a more conservative goal of $100 monthly ($1,200 annually), we do the same calculation: $1,200 / $0.80 = 1,500 shares, or $301,845 to generate a monthly dividend income of $100.
Note that dividend yield can change on a rolling basis, as the dividend payment and stock price both fluctuate over time.
The dividend yield is calculated by dividing the annual dividend payment by the current stock price. As the stock price changes, the dividend yield will also change.
For example, if a stock pays an annual dividend of $2 and its current price is $50, its dividend yield would be 4%. However, if the stock price increases to $60, the dividend yield would decrease to 3.33% ($2/$60).
Conversely, if the stock price decreases to $40, the dividend yield would increase to 5% ($2/$40).
Further, the dividend payment itself can also change over time, which can also impact the dividend yield. If a company increases its dividend payment, the dividend yield will increase even if the stock price remains the same. Similarly, if a company decreases its dividend payment, the dividend yield will decrease.
GOOG Price Action: Shares of Alphabet fell by 1.4% to close at $201.23 on Monday.

The study evaluated ifetroban, a novel oral therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) heart disease – the leading cause of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/CPIX" rel="noreferrer noopener">death in DMD patients</a>.
DMD is a rare and incurable pediatric disease caused by mutations in the gene encoding dystrophin, a protein critical for muscle function, including the heart.

Patients with DMD slowly lose muscle function, resulting in the inability to walk, difficulty breathing, and heart failure.
The trial enrolled 41 patients who received either low-dose ifetroban (150 mg per day), high-dose ifetroban (300 mg per day), or placebo.
The study&#8217;s primary endpoint was an improvement in the heart&#8217;s left ventricular ejection fractions (LVEF), a key indicator of how well the heart is pumping blood.&nbsp;
Key findings include:
<ul>
<li>High-dose ifetroban treatment resulted in an overall 3.3% improvement in LVEF.</li>
<li>The high-dose ifetroban group showed an increase in 1.8% in LVEF, while the study placebo group showed an expected decline in LVEF of 1.5%</li>
<li>The difference was even more pronounced when compared with propensity-matched natural history controls, with the high-dose treatment providing a significant 5.4% overall improvement in LVEF, while the control patients experienced a 3.6% decline.</li>
<li>Both doses of ifetroban were well-tolerated, with no serious drug-related events.</li>
</ul>
Ifetroban has received both&nbsp;Orphan Drug Designation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Rare Pediatric Disease Designation&nbsp;from the FDA. If approved, ifetroban would be the first therapy specifically indicated for DMD-related heart disease.
