Wall Street strategist Tom Lee said Thursday that the astronomical jump in Strategy Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSTR#NASDAQ">MSTR</a>) shares was due not just to the rise in Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) but also to the financial maneuvers it adopted.
What happened: In an X thread, Lee highlighted how the stock of the Michael Saylor-led firm skyrocketed from $13 to over $450 after switching to a Bitcoin treasury strategy five years ago.
The Head of Research at Fundstrat said that out of the 35x spike, 11x was due to Bitcoin's price surging from $11,000 to $118,000, while the treasury strategy contributed an additional 25x rise.
"Treasury strategy far more significant than token price gain," Lee said.

Tom Lee Says Michael Saylor-Led Strategy's 35x Surge Wasn't Just Bitcoin — Treasury Moves 'Far More Significant' Than Token Price Gain

The bid to set clear working rules for the cryptocurrency industry in the U.S. got a booster pill Thursday as the House of Representatives <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/crypto/25/07/46480331/the-us-just-took-a-big-step-toward-crypto-regulation-heres-what-the-clarity-act-actually-says">passed key pieces of legislation.</a>
The passage was cheered by the cryptosphere and top officials of the Trump administration.
What happened: SEC Chair Paul Atkins deemed the passage of the GENIUS Act, also known as the stablecoin bill, a "historic milestone" for crypto entrepreneurs and market participants.&nbsp;
"I look forward to watching the market leverage the regulatory framework provided by the GENIUS Act to go to market with payment stablecoin solutions that make transactions quicker, cheaper, and safer," Atkins said in a statement.
Brian Armstrong, CEO of America&#8217;s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Coinbase Global Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/COIN#NASDAQ">COIN</a>), described the development as &#8220;huge&#8221; and stated that the industry is &#8220;incredibly close to having a clear regulatory framework.&#8221;

Why It Matters: The House voted for three bills on Thursday. The GENIUS Act, which has <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/crypto/cryptocurrency/25/06/45989307/senate-passes-genius-act-coinbases-brian-armstrong-calls-it-big-milestone-scott-bessent-says-passage-could-drive-stablecoins-into-a-3-7-trillion-market">already passed the Senate</a>, aims to establish the first regulatory framework for issuers of dollar-pegged stablecoins such as Tether (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/">USDT</a>) and USDC (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/">USDC</a>). It is set to arrive on President Donald Trump's desk soon.
The CLARITY Act, which proposes to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/05/45213365/maxine-waters-to-obstruct-cryptocurrency-hearing-plans-shadow-hearing-instead">split cryptocurrency oversight</a> between the SEC and the CFTC, also sailed through and will now proceed toward the Senate.
Lastly, the lower chamber passed the Anti-Central Bank Digital Currency bill, which will prevent the Federal Reserve from issuing a centrally controlled digital dollar.

What Happened: Bitcoin nearly reclaimed $121,000 in the evening before pulling back to the $119,000 zone. An overnight surge, however, pushed the apex coin back above $120,000, 2.22% short of its record high.
Ethereum also broke past $3,500 to hit an eight-month high, extending a winning run that has returned its holders more than 42% in the past month.&nbsp;
Bitcoin's dominance fell to 61%, while Ethereum's market share surged past 11% for the first time since January.
The House <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/crypto/25/07/46480331/the-us-just-took-a-big-step-toward-crypto-regulation-heres-what-the-clarity-act-actually-says">passed key cryptocurrency bills</a>, including the GENIUS Act, which now heads to President Donald Trump's desk, and the CLARITY Act, which will proceed to the Senate.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, cryptocurrency liquidations hit $607 million in the last 24 hours, with bearish bets accounting for more than half of them.
Bitcoin's open interest rose by 1.15% in the last 24 hours, while Ethereum recorded a 6.16% spike. The "Greed" sentiment prevailed in the market, according to the Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index.

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization stood at $3.79 trillion, following a 2.24% increase in the last 24 hours.
Stocks ascended to record levels on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 229.71 points, or 0.52%, to end at 44,254.78. The S&amp;P 500 rose 0.54% to close at a new record of 6,297.36. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite gained 0.57%, also experiencing a record close of 20,885.65.
Investors parsed the latest data on retail sales. June numbers <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/macro-economic-events/25/07/46467952/us-retail-sales-june-2025-fed-trump-inflation-consumer">exceeded forecasts</a>, climbing 0.6% month-on-month after two consecutive decreases, indicating the resilience of the U.S. economy despite tariff-related pressures.

Analyst Notes: Widely followed cryptocurrency analyst and trader Ali Martinez highlighted the possibility of Bitcoin rallying toward $132,000 if it records a daily close above $121,000.

Blockchain analytics firm CryptoQuant noted that the unrealized profit of short-term holders was around 15%, far from the 35% threshold that has historically triggered profit-taking behavior.
"As a result, there is still room for BTC to rise by approximately 20% to 25% before hitting that critical MVRV threshold again," CryptoQuant said.&nbsp;

Retail sales rebounded in June, rising 0.6% month-over-month after a revised 0.9% drop in May, far exceeding consensus expectations of a 0.1% gain. Meanwhile, initial jobless claims fell to 221,000, the lowest since April, suggesting ongoing resilience in the labor market.
Investor nerves eased after President Donald Trump denied reports suggesting he was considering the removal of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
Tech-led sector gains, with the combined market capitalization of the so-called Magnificent Seven stocks climbing to $18.4 trillion.
Bond market jitters persisted as 30-year Treasury yields touched 5%, though equity markets largely shrugged off the move.
The U.S. dollar strengthened 0.4%. Commodities rallied, driven by a 1.6% rise in oil prices to above $67 per barrel, while platinum hit its highest level since August 2014.

What Happened: Bitcoin topped $120,000 in the evening before plummeting to a low of $117,255.02 overnight, even as trading volume dipped 21% in the last 24 hours.
The so-called ‘Crypto Week' continued to hit roadblocks due to disagreements among GOP lawmakers<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/politics/25/07/46458679/trump-backed-crypto-bills-stalled-again-in-house-of-representatives-marjorie-taylor-greene-holds-out-on-cbdc-ban-will-not-vote-for-this"> regarding key cryptocurrency bills</a>.
Ethereum recorded a steeper spike, surging past the $3,000–$3,400 resistance zone. Institutional flows supported the rally, with Cathie Wood's Ark Invest <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/25/07/46458290/cathie-woods-ethereum-double-down-ark-bets-7-9-million-on-eth-staking-etf-buy-while-selling-coinbase-at-highs">scooping a significant number of shares</a> of 3iQ Ether Staking ETF (ETHQ.U).&nbsp;
The rally hit bearish traders, with nearly $300 million in short positions getting erased in the last 24 hours.
Bitcoin's open interest rose marginally by 0.58% in the last 24 hours, while funds locked in Ethereum's derivatives jumped 4%. Meanwhile, the majority of Binance traders with open BTC positions were short as of this writing.

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization stood at $3.79 trillion, following a jump of 2.24% in the last 24 hours.
Stocks bounced back sharply on Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lifted 231.49 points, or 0.53%, to end at 44,254.78. The S&amp;P 500 rose 0.32% to end at 6,263.70. The tech-focused Nasdaq Composite added 0.18% to clock yet another record close of 20,640.33.
Drama unfolded after a senior White House official hinted that Trump is planning to remove Fed Chair Powell. However, Trump <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/crypto/cryptocurrency/25/07/46449521/donald-trump-to-fire-jerome-powell-polymarket-traders-say-no-but">quickly downplayed the reports</a>, saying it is "highly unlikely" he will do so in the near future.
Interestingly, the odds of a 25 basis point rate cut at the Federal Reserve&#8217;s September meeting increased from 54.5% to 56.3%, <a href="https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/interest-rates/cme-fedwatch-tool.html">according </a>to the CME FedWatch tool.&nbsp;

Analyst Notes: In a note to Benzinga, the analytics team at Bitcoin yield protocol TeraHash said that if <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/crypto/cryptocurrency/25/07/46441190/600m-in-1-day-why-are-bitcoin-ethereum-etf-suddenly-so-bullish">exchange-traded flows</a> persist and cryptocurrency bills pass through, Bitcoin could see a $3 trillion valuation by year-end.
"We see this as Bitcoin's transition from ‘digital gold' to monetary infrastructure," the analysts said.
Widely followed cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez flagged $3,980 as a key resistance for Ethereum, breaking which could "ignite a major bull rally."

Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Dogecoin Bounce Back As 'Crypto Week' Is Underway

Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives delivered an optimistic outlook for Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) and the broader tech and crypto markets, predicting a $5 trillion market capitalization for the tech giant led by Jensen Huang.

What Happened: In a <a href="https://omny.fm/shows/kabc-podcasts/mottek-on-money-07-15-25#description">podcast</a> &#8220;Mottek On Money,&#8221; hosted by Frank Mottek, Ives highlighted Nvidia&#8217;s recent surge past $170 per share, driven by a pivotal U.S. decision to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/tech/25/07/46407517/nvidia-resumes-h20-shipments-to-china-as-jensen-huang-meets-trump-beijing-officials-fully-compliant-rtx-pro-aims-to-bridge-ai-cold-war">allow its H20 AI chips</a> into China, calling it a &#8220;watershed decision&#8221; that could add $30 to $40 billion annually to the company's revenue. 
Ives boldly predicted, &#8220;I think it's on a march to $5 trillion,&#8221; underscoring Nvidia's potential to become the world's most valuable company, surpassing its current $4.17 trillion market cap.
This bullish stance comes as the Nasdaq also hit a record high, fueled by an AI revolution entering its &#8220;software phase, the consumer phase,&#8221; according to Ives. He envisions a tech bull market, forecasting the Nasdaq could reach 22,000 to 25,000 by year-end.
Further, Ives celebrated Nvidia CEO Huang's &#8220;Beltway political battle&#8221; win with the China deal and Donald Trump's $90 billion AI investment push, calling it a &#8220;golden age&#8221; where the U.S. leads China in tech.
He dismissed China's AI efforts, like DeepSeek, as reliant on Nvidia GPUs, reinforcing his belief that &#8220;we're still in the second inning&#8221; of the AI boom.

Bitcoin Slides Amid Uncertainty On Crypto Bills; Ethereum, Dogecoin Gain: ETH Dominance Needs To 'Convincingly Break' 10% For Bullish Bias, Says Analyst

In a deal that could mark one of the largest corporate purchases of Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) to date, Cantor Equity Partners I Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CEPO#NASDAQ">CEPO</a>) is in advanced talks to acquire more than $3 billion worth of Bitcoin from Blockstream Capital's Adam Back.
The move, which could total over $4 billion after additional fundraising, aligns with Cantor Fitzgerald's broader strategy to become a leading institutional buyer of digital assets.
The special purpose acquisition company, which raised $200 million in its January IPO, is led by 27-year-old Brandon Lutnick, son of U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
Quoting sources familiar with the discussions, The Financial Times <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/a4a362a6-cc8b-4188-8658-75183a3d6f5f">reported</a> that the transaction may be finalized as early as this week, pending final terms.
If completed, it would involve Back contributing up to 30,000 Bitcoin in exchange for equity in the SPAC, which would be rebranded as BSTR Holdings.
The deal echoes an earlier $3.6 billion crypto purchase led by Lutnick in partnership with Tether (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/">USDT</a>) and SoftBank. 
Together, the two ventures — BSTR Holdings and another Cantor-affiliated entity, Twenty One Capital — could collectively amass nearly $10 billion in Bitcoin by the end of 2025.

Back is a longtime cryptography expert and the inventor of Hashcash, a proof-of-work system that inspired the Bitcoin protocol.

Jim Cramer predicted Monday that JPMorgan Chase &amp; Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JPM#NYSE">JPM</a>) CEO Jamie Dimon will shun his skepticism and "go all in on cryptocurrency."
What happened: During a CNBC segment, Cramer <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/video/2025/07/14/watch-cnbcas-full-discussion-with-the-asquawk-on-the-streeta-crew.html">weighed </a>in on the market's ongoing bull run, which has propelled Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>), the world's leading cryptocurrency, past $123,000.&nbsp;
Cramer commented on the emerging trend in which firms are borrowing money to establish corporate treasuries for currencies such as Bitcoin and even Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/eth/usd">ETH</a>).
The Mad Money show host then shifted his attention to Dimon, one of the fiercest Bitcoin skeptics on Wall Street.
"You know the sites that talk about what events are going to occur? I'd like to pay the bookie when he does a lot of crypto," Cramer said. "He'll go all in on crypto."

For intraday trades, CJ is focusing only on high-quality setups, preferring a wick up first, followed by a liquidity sweep targeting the daily imbalance between $112,000–$115,000, ideally capping around $113,000. 
His next major upside target stands at $129,300.
Michael van de Poppe echoed a cautious tone, observing that Bitcoin's current daily candle isn't inspiring confidence. Despite this short-term weakness, he emphasized that volatility is building, and the macro trend remains bullish.

A drop to that point could trigger over $40 million in liquidations, potentially causing a sharp reaction. It&#8217;s a level to watch closely for intraday volatility.
Adding historical perspective, crypto trader Jelle <a href="https://x.com/CryptoJelleNL/status/1944718262341697984">noted</a> that the last two Bitcoin cycles each lasted exactly 1,064 days. The current cycle is 966 days in, meaning roughly 100 days could be left before either a euphoric blow-off top, or a sharp correction. "Time to make it count, or are we entering an up-only supercycle?" Jelle mused.

Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP Hold Gains But 'Volatility Is Incoming'

U.S. stock futures were lower on Monday after ending on a negative note on Friday. Futures of major benchmark indices were lower.
President Donald Trump, in a telephone interview with NBC News' &#8220;Meet the Press&#8221; moderator Kristen Welker, asserted that &#8220;The tariffs have been very well received.&#8221; He believes that if a 10% tariff can generate around $300 billion annually, a 20% rate could <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/politics/25/07/46386524/trump-wants-blanket-tariffs-of-up-to-20-after-surprise-treasury-surplus-in-june-ed-yardeni-says-don">double that intake</a>. 
Meanwhile, the European Union was ready with a prepared list of tariffs worth 21 billion euros ($24.52 billion) on U.S. goods if the two sides fail to reach a trade deal, reported Reuters, highlighting Italy&#8217;s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani&#8216;s comments. 
He also issued, latest threats to impose a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/macro-economic-events/25/07/46384885/peter-schiff-gives-trumps-30-tariff-threa">30% tariff on all imports</a> from Mexico and the EU. 
Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) scaled fresh highs on Monday as the cryptocurrency hit a fresh high of $123,091.61 per coin.
The 10-year Treasury bond yielded 4.42% and the two-year bond was at 3.89%. The CME Group's FedWatch <a href="https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/interest-rates/cme-fedwatch-tool.html">tool&#8217;s</a> projections show markets pricing a 93.3% likelihood of the Federal Reserve keeping the current interest rates unchanged in its July meeting.

On Friday, while most sectors on the S&amp;P 500 closed lower, notably financial, health care, and materials stocks recorded the steepest declines, energy and consumer discretionary stocks defied the broader market downturn, concluding the session higher.
This mixed performance occurred a day after the S&amp;P 500 reached a new record high, ultimately leading U.S. stocks to settle lower.
The broader market reflected these losses over the past week, with the Dow Jones dropping 1% and the S&amp;P by 0.3%.
Fueling market jitters, Trump signaled a more aggressive trade stance, announcing a 35% tariff on Canadian imports effective Aug. 1, alongside proposed blanket duties of 15% to 20% on most other trading partners.
In corporate news, WD-40 Co. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WDFC#NASDAQ">WDFC</a>) reported better-than-expected earnings for its third quarter, though its sales figures fell short of estimates.

Meanwhile, Ed Yardeni from Yardeni Research highlighted the surplus of just over <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/politics/25/07/46386524/trump-wants-blanket-tariffs-of-up-to-20-after-surprise-treasury-surplus-in-june-ed-yardeni-says-don">$27 billion in June</a>, reported by the U.S. Treasury Department, saying that Trump "must have loved the headline… ‘Treasury posts unexpected surplus in June as tariff receipts surge."
However, he warned that tariffs are essentially "a tax on U.S. importers," which can erode corporate profit margins and profits. While rebounding productivity growth might offer some offset, the potential impact on businesses remains a significant concern.
Adding about the market reaction to tariffs, Yardeni said, &#8220;The selloffs in the bond and stock markets back then forced Trump to deescalate his trade war. That's not happening now—not so far at least. This undoubtedly is emboldening Trump.&#8221;
Speculating on how the financial markets will respond this week to his latest escalation, Yardeni said that perhaps investors have learned that Trump's huffing and puffing is simply the way he negotiates trade deals.
&#8220;They are betting that it will work and result in lots of deals. They've also learned that Trump can change his mind often. So if some trade deals aren't coming together fast enough, he'll settle on a vague letter of understanding to work out a deal over time.&#8221;
The risk for the economy and investors is that Trump has concluded that if the financial markets aren't going to be vigilant about his trade war, then he can proceed with it unchecked, explained Yardeni. &#8220;If so, then TTT (Trump&#8217;s Tariff Turmoil) will last past the summer.&#8221;
Yardeni said in a LinkedIn <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/trumps-reign-tariffs-aint-over-edward-yardeni-eshve/">post</a>, &#8220;Then again, investors may agree with our current view that &#8216;this too shall pass&#8217; by the end of the summer: The economy will remain resilient, and inflation will remain surprisingly moderate. It all adds up to a relatively normal seasonal pattern, with the stock market weak during the late summer through the fall followed by a year-end rally to 6500 in our scenario.&#8221;

Asian markets ended on a mixed note on Monday, as India's S&amp;P BSE Sensex, Japan's Nikkei 225, and Australia's ASX 200 indices fell. While China&#8217;s CSI 300, Hong Kong's Hang Seng, and South Korea's Kospi indices rose. European markets were mostly lower in early trade.

What Happened: Bitcoin hit a new high above $119,000, extending its record-breaking run that began earlier this week. The trading volume increased 10.29% to $51 billion in the last 24 hours.
Ethereum topped $3,000 in the morning before retreating to the $2,900 area by evening. The second-largest cryptocurrency was on track to finish the week strong, with gains of more than 16% as of this writing.
Over $247 million was liquidated from the market in the last 24 hours, with $142 million of it coming from bearish shorts.
Bitcoin's open interest spiked 3.58% in the last 24 hours and 15% over the last week, suggesting an influx of fresh money into the derivatives market. Traders on Binance with open BTC positions, however, continued to be short.
The market remained greedy, according to the Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index, signaling substantial buying pressure.

Stock futures fell overnight Sunday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average Futures slid 173 points, or 0.39%, as of 8:36 p.m. EDT.&nbsp; Futures tied to the S&amp;P 500 dipped 0.40%, while Nasdaq 100 Futures declined 0.40%.
The sell-offs followed Trump&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/07/46382047/trump-targets-mexico-eu-with-30-tariffs">announcement of 30% tariffs</a> on imports from Mexico and the EU. Earlier in the week, Trump also threatened to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/macro-economic-events/25/07/46334793/trump-sends-lula-a-letter-imposing-50-tariffs-calls-bolsonaro-trial-a-witch-hunt-brazils-president-hits-back-will-not-accept-any-form-of-tutelage">impose 50% tariffs</a> on Brazilian goods.

Memecoins inspired by GameStop Corp. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GME#NYSE">GME</a>) popped Thursday as Bitcoin's (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) record-breaking rally energized the cryptocurrency market.
What happened: Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/eth/usd">ETH</a>)-based GameStop (GME) was up nearly 40% in the last 24 hours, hitting a more than three-week high, <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/gamestop/">according</a> to CoinMarketCap.
The coin's market capitalization exceeded $27 million, while the 24-hour trading volume spiked 65% to $1.5 million.
Notably, a BNB Chain (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/bnb/usd">BNB</a>)-based token, having the same name but a much larger market capitalization, rose exponentially only to <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/gamestopcoin-net/">lose 86%</a> of its value overnight. As of this writing, it was down 62% in the last 24 hours.
Note that the token is unrelated to GameStop and merely seeks to capitalize on the hype surrounding the meme stock.
That said, there appeared to be little development on the company&#8217;s side to support such a rally. Analyst Notes: Blockchain analytics firm Santiment said that despite Bitcoin's record highs, traders are not keen to shift coins back onto exchanges for profit-taking.
On the contrary, the last four months have seen a net drop of 21% in BTC on exchanges.
"The trend of coins staying off exchanges is a sign that the threat of sudden market plummets is more limited, and long-term investors are increasingly content to keep their coins safe in personal storage for the long run," Santiment added.

Seasoned trader Peter Brandt spotted an expanding inverted triangle pattern in Bitcoin's daily price movement, suggesting a higher risk of "mortality" or pattern failure.
An inverted triangle pattern, or descending triangle, is a bearish chart formation characterized by a horizontal support line and a descending resistance line.
"Nevertheless, I am long BTC. A decline below $107,000 would suggest morphology," he added.

Bitcoin Breaks $112,000, Ethereum, Dogecoin Surge Amid Growing Institutional Interest, Nvidia-Driven Tech Rally: Experienced Trader Peter Brandt Says, 'I Am Long BTC'

Anthony Scaramucci has been a staunch Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) advocate over the years, but the SkyBridge Capital CEO does not hold meme coins in the same regard.
What happened: During a CNBC interview, Scaramucci compared meme cryptocurrencies, including Dogecoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/doge/usd">DOGE</a>), to the Dutch Tulip Bubble.
During the Tulipmania, prices of several breeds of Tulip bulbs rose to above the value of a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/21/03/20249346/nft-craze-a-reminder-of-tulip-mania-keep-calm-and-buy-non-fungible-tulips">furnished luxury house</a> in 17th-century Amsterdam
"These are gambling tokens, effectively," he said. "I think in the minds of some of the older investors, it causes contagion on Bitcoin."
Scaramucci said meme coins would &#8220;aggravate&#8221; Warren Buffett, legendary investor and a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/04/44728494/bitcoin-draws-ire-from-buffett-and-dimon-but-blockchain-technology-sees-a-softer-stance-from-both">known Bitcoin critic</a>.

Scaramucci argued that memecoins distract people from the "value and purity" of Bitcoin.
He said that he owns Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>), Solana (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/sol/usd">SOL</a>) and Avalanche (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/avax/usd">AVAX</a>) and bets on assets that will grow in the "world of tokenization."

Why It Matters: Scaramucci has been known for giving memecoins the cold shoulder. During a 2021 <a href="https://decrypt.co/60869/anthony-scaramucci-focused-on-bitcoin-big-dog">interview</a>, he explicitly stated that he was "singularly focused on Bitcoin" and had no interest in cryptocurrencies such as Dogecoin.
Interestingly, he was not drawn to Bitcoin from the get-go. An intriguing development <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/04/45093574/anthony-scaramucci-wasnt-keen-on-bitcoin-initially-but-the-eureka-moment-came-during-his-short-white-house-tenure-under-trump">during his stint at the White House</a> impacted his ideas, bringing him closer to the asset.
Today, his conviction is so strong that he <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/10/41643366/missed-jumping-on-the-bitcoin-bandwagon-anthony-scaramucci-says-its-not-too-late-to-climb-">wrote a book</a> about Bitcoin called "The Little Book of Bitcoin,&#8221;&nbsp; a guide to understanding the financial implications of digital asset technology.
Scaramucci previously revealed that <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/05/45611404/anthony-scaramucci-remains-firm-on-bitcoin-as-the-best-investment-idea-even-as-the-largest-crypto-hovers-around-109000">around 55% of his wealth</a> is tied up in Bitcoin.

Institutional interest continued to grow, as iShares Bitcoin Trust&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IBIT#NASDAQ">IBIT</a>)&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/crypto/25/07/46291817/blackrocks-bitcoin-etf-just-overtook-michael-saylors-mstr-now-holds-nearly-700000-btc">surpassed&nbsp;</a>Strategy Inc.‘s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSTR#NASDAQ">MSTR</a>) BTC holdings.
Over $115 million was liquidated from the cryptocurrency market in the last 24 hours, with short position traders losing more. A further $260 million in Bitcoin perpetuals risked liquidation if the apex cryptocurrency rose to $111,000.
Bitcoin's open interest rose marginally by 0.52%. Notably, the majority of top traders on Binance were positioned short as of this writing.
The "Greed" sentiment persisted in the market, according to the Crypto Fear &amp; Greed Index.

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization stood at $3.37 trillion, following a 1.16% increase in the last 24 hours.
Stocks were a mixed bag on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 165.60 points, or 0.37%, to end at 44,240.76. The S&amp;P 500 was little changed, closing 0.07% lower at 6,225.52. The tech-focused Nasdaq Composite gained 0.03% to end at 20,418.46.
Trump stated via Truth Social that the Aug. 1 deadline for tariffs remains <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114818149310161097">unchanged</a>, and no extensions will be given. He also <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/07/46305321/copper-price-surges-trump-tariffs-stocks-july-2025">announced a 50% tariff</a> on copper imports, pushing the industrial metal to record highs.
Tuesday&#8217;s sideways movement came after markets fell on Monday after Trump&#8217;s announcement of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/25/07/46281204/wall-street-today-trump-tariffs-japan-south-korea-stocks-drop">sweeping 25% tariffs</a> on all imports from Japan and South Korea beginning Aug. 1.

Analyst Notes: Blockchain analytics firm Santiment highlighted a surge in bullish retail crowd sentiment as Bitcoin sits above $108,500.
"Be cautious while crowd FOMO is pouring in, as it can often lead to short-term corrections," Santiment remarked.

Widely followed technical analyst and trader Urkel said Bitcoin's path to $120,000-$130,000 will be smoother once it breaks above a "silly little wall" around $112,000.
"Just needs a big push," the analyst added.
