Santa Rally: 10 S&P 500 Stocks That Outperform In December's Second Half

The acquisition will integrate BlackRock&#8217;s extensive corporate and asset owner relationships with HPS&#8217;s expertise in diversified origination and capital flexibility. This transaction strengthens BlackRock&#8217;s offerings for insurance clients.
Together, the combined private credit franchise with ~$220 billion in client assets and BlackRock&#8217;s $3 trillion public fixed-income business will offer clients comprehensive public and private income solutions across their entire portfolios.
The combined platform will offer end-to-end capabilities in credit solutions, asset-based finance, real estate, private placements, and CLOs.
The acquisition positions BlackRock as a full-service, fiduciary provider of public and private asset management and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42227693/blackrock-set-to-acquire-private-credit-manager-hps-for-12b-report" rel="noreferrer noopener">technology solutions for the insurance sector.</a>
As part of the transaction, BlackRock plans to retire or refinance approximately $400 million of existing HPS debt. The deal is not expected to significantly impact BlackRock&#8217;s leverage profile.
The company expects to increase private markets fee-paying AUM and management fees by 40% and 35%, respectively, and be modestly accretive to BlackRock&#8217;s as-adjusted earnings <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">per share in the first full year post-close</a>.
The transaction is expected to close in mid-2025, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Notably, BlackRock projects the private debt market to surpass $4.5 trillion by 2030.

A renewed sense of optimism surrounds Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) adoption following a shift in the regulatory landscape, according to a note from BlackRock (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BLK#NASDAQ">BLK</a>). 
What Happened: President-elect Donald Trump&#8216;s campaign promise to maintain a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/41986427/pennsylvania-introduces-bitcoin-strategic-reserve-act-to-invest-up-to-700-million-in-btc">strategic Bitcoin reserve</a>, alongside recent electoral success for <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42035953/as-congress-turns-pro-crypto-will-stablecoin-be-high-on-the-agenda">pro-crypto politicians</a>, has amplified expectations for a more supportive environment for digital assets, BlackRock told its clients
It added that these developments are expected to accelerate the mainstream adoption of Bitcoin.
"In addition to the macro environment, there is a renewed sense of optimism that regulatory clarity for Bitcoin and digital assets may emerge following the U.S. election," BlackRock stated. 
The firm highlighted that the combination of macroeconomic conditions and evolving policies could create an environment conducive to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42069770/us-congress-could-set-the-stage-for-broader-crypto-adoption-says-digital-asset-leader">broader adoption of cryptocurrencies</a>.

Macro And Market Conditions Align For Bitcoin's Appeal BlackRock emphasized that Bitcoin's distinct fundamentals, including its finite supply and independence from traditional monetary systems, make it uniquely positioned as an alternative monetary asset. 
Recent changes in real interest rates have bolstered Bitcoin's attractiveness, with rate cuts reducing the opportunity cost of holding non-interest-paying assets like <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/41902155/bitcoin-to-augment-gold-as-the-next-strategic-reserve-asset-says-expert">Bitcoin and gold</a>.
"Investors may now view Bitcoin as increasingly attractive relative to other assets," the note explained, citing the potential impact of declining real interest rates on Bitcoin's valuation.
Options Trading On BlackRock's IBIT Goes Live On Nasdaq Meanwhile, adding to the optimism, options trading on BlackRock's iShares spot Bitcoin ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IBIT#NASDAQ">IBIT</a>) <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42071163/blackrock-spot-bitcoin-etf-options-on-nasdaq-rack-up-9-figure-trading-volume-in-first-few-hours-seems-very-bullish-says-analyst">has officially gone live on Nasdaq</a>.
This allows Wall Street investors to gain leveraged exposure to Bitcoin, opening new avenues for institutional involvement. 
The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) recently confirmed its readiness to clear and settle these options, marking a significant step for the U.S. cryptocurrency market.
The SEC's approval of 11 Bitcoin ETFs, including BlackRock's IBIT, has further enhanced accessibility for traditional investors. 
The OCC's memo yesterday cemented the operational readiness for these instruments, beginning with IBIT. 
The development underscores growing confidence in the integration of Bitcoin into established financial markets.
