PureTech Health plc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PRTC#NASDAQ">PRTC</a>) stock is up on Monday, after the company announced results from ELEVATE IPF Phase 2b trial of deupirfenidone (LYT-100) for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
The trial evaluated deupirfenidone at two doses three times a day (TID) over <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/12/b42501548/puretechs-deupirfenidone-lyt-100-slowed-lung-function-decline-in-people-with-idiopathic-pulmonary-" rel="noreferrer noopener">26 weeks in IPF patients</a>.
Participants in the trial were randomized 1:1:1:1 to receive deupirfenidone 550 mg, deupirfenidone 825 mg, pirfenidone 801 mg (the FDA-approved dose), or placebo TID for 26 weeks, and had the option to enroll in an ongoing, open-label extension study.
The trial achieved its primary endpoint based on the prespecified Bayesian analysis, with a 98.5% posterior probability, meaning that This means there is a 98.5% probability that the pooled deupirfenidone arms were superior to placebo in slowing the rate of lung function decline in people with IPF, as measured by forced vital capacity (FVC) at 26 weeks.
The trial also successfully demonstrated a dose-dependent response.
The rate of FVC decline&nbsp;at week 26 with:
<ul>
<li>deupirfenidone 825 mg TID compared to placebo was statistically significant (-21.5 mL vs. -112.5 mL, respectively; p=0.02)4 and represents a treatment effect of 80.9% as a monotherapy.</li>
<li>pirfenidone 801 mg TID showed a treatment effect of 54.1% compared to placebo (-51.6 mL vs. -112.5 mL, respectively), consistent with previously reported pirfenidone clinical trial data.</li>
</ul>
The trial also achieved its key secondary endpoint showing a 99.6% probability that the pooled deupirfenidone arms were superior to the placebo in slowing the rate of lung function decline in people with IPF, as measured by the forced vital capacity percent predicted (FVCpp) from baseline to week 26.
Deupirfenidone 825 mg TID also demonstrated a benefit on FVCpp endpoint compared to placebo that was statistically significant.
Both doses of deupirfenidone were generally well-tolerated in the trial. The overall number of patients experiencing any gastrointestinal (GI)-related adverse events (AEs) was similar across the deupirfenidone 825 mg TID and pirfenidone 801 mg TID arms.
Price Action: PRTC stock is up 10.10% at $22.40 at last check Monday.

What To Know: Most social media users are active on more than one app. About 70% of Snapchat users are also active on TikTok, according to <a href="https://apptopia.com/blog/googl-snap-rddt-tiktok-ban-implications/">a report</a> from Apptopia. 
The average Snapchat user spends 33 minutes per day on Snapchat. And Snapchat users who also have TikTok spend 38 minutes per day on the app.

Snap, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SNAP#NYSE">SNAP</a>) could stand to benefit from <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/12/42369266/meta-reddit-stocks-climb-record-highs-as-tiktoks-battle-against-us-ban-continues-after-court-ruling">a TikTok ban</a>. That&#8217;s if the app can lure some of the former TikTok users into spending more time on Snapchat. Given that 70% of Snapchat users also use TikTok, it seems likely that they might spend additional time on Snapchat in the event of a TikTok ban. 
Apptopia shows that only 54% of Alphabet, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) YouTube users are also active on TikTok. Users may view the apps as "substitutes," or that only one video format social platform is needed. 
However, the average YouTube user spends 84 minutes per day on the platform. YouTube users who have both YouTube and TikTok spent only 74 minutes on YouTube, which allows for some upside in the event of a TikTok ban. Perhaps YouTube will gain some share of user time spent from its "substitute" video-sharing app being banned. 
The Apptopia report also highlights Reddit, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RDDT#NYSE">RDDT</a>) as poised to benefit from a TikTok ban with 60% of Reddit users also using TikTok. Users of both apps spend only 19 minutes on Reddit. The average Reddit user spends 25 minutes browsing subreddits. 
The 60% of Reddit users also using TikTok represents a significant percentage who could spend more time on the app if they were to lose interest in or access to TikTok.&nbsp;
What's Next: TikTok announced on Dec. 9 that it had filed an emergency motion for an injunction to delay the ban while the U.S. Supreme Court reviews the case. 
If TikTok is not sold and the Supreme Court does not step in, it will be banned in the U.S. on Jan. 19, 2025.

What To Know: Super Micro is one of three companies set to be booted from the Nasdaq 100 Index on Dec. 23 as part of the index&#8217;s annual changes.
The changes will take effect before the market opens on Dec. 23. The other companies set to be removed from the index, include Illumina, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ILMN#NASDAQ">ILMN</a>) and Moderna, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MRNA#NASDAQ">MRNA</a>). 
The Nasdaq is set to add Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PLTR#NASDAQ">PLTR</a>), MicroStrategy Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSTR#NASDAQ">MSTR</a>) and Axon Enterprise, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AXON#NASDAQ">AXON</a>) to the index.
What Else: Super Micro has faced delays in filing its earnings for the 2024 fiscal year as well as the first quarter of the 2025 fiscal year. The company originally cited multiple reasons for the delay, including the need to find a new auditor after Ernst &amp; Young, the company&#8217;s former auditor, resigned due to governance control issues, and the need to review its internal control systems.
Super Micro has since appointed BDO USA as its independent auditor. In addition, the company&#8217;s special committee review found no evidence of misconduct.
 Lastly, the company is <a href="https://www.benzinga.com//node/42506690">working</a> with Evercore to raise its capital. The company is considering multiple options in order to achieve this, such as, a private investment in public equity.
